customer "i am on a 49.99 plan why is my damn bill $762"
me "lets look at your bill"
customer " i read it but it only has the total"
me "ok in looking at your bill you have 3349 text messages and 1432 mms"
customer "i dont text"
me "lets see your phone"
me "there are alot of message in your inbox and sent here, so yes you have been sending and receiving messages from this phone"
customer "i dont do those idol things i just write letters to other people and they write back"
me "maam that is text messaging"
customer "no, its writing a letter"
customer "whats this mms"
me" have you sent any pictures to anyone"
customer "yes but thats just sharing"
me" maam, you have to pay for any letters or pictures that you send or receive"

You Don't Use Cingular??!!!!!

I get this all time whe people find out I work for one wireless company but use the service of another. I want to know how many employees of cingular have phones by another carrier and why?

I have sprint. I had it for 5years and before them I had cingular back in the day. I find that for what I use my phone for, my current carrier is the best right now. So even though I get a employee rate plans (1000 min for free) and 30% off equipment and accessories. It is cost effective for me to stay where I am in the long run.

PAR and survey

This question is for all the internal orange reps out there.....I heard a crazy rumor that the orange sites don't get subjected to nit-picking practices that us blue reps get subjected to such as PAR and the customer satisfaction survey that we have to do at the end of every call....is that the truth?

Sales vs Customer Svc

I use to work customer service for sprintpcs and now I am sales with cingular...


I must say, I miss the drama of the customer service calls. I would hear the most outrageous stories....and sad to say, I miss irate, cursing customers 😢

Cingular Shipped my phone today WOOT!

I'm a happy camper now. I bought the Sony Ericsson T237 Go-Phone! It shipped from TN and im in Cali VERY Fast shipping if you ask me and i got it for free. It is expected to arrive tomorrow the 18th by 4:30 PST. Which is pretty cool. Does anyone know when the activation center closes? Because when i get my phone i need to call in to activate it? And you never know the truck may be a bit late! 😳

Cust Serv Heads up!!!

I just wanted to try & help out to let the Cust Serv Rep's know DMDR Telesales only handles Brand New Cust's or adding additional lines.

We are not allowed to upgrade,migrate, or ship phone only.

Also there are alot of Telesales Rep's who won't help if Cust Serv calls with questions or such because they are making it a point to write people up for not making 12% close ratio on sales.So, now if it's not a sale of a new activation we can get wrote up.

I just wanted to give ya a heads up about it.

A Phone Suggestion

I am in the market for a new phone, but only have $200. I have narrowed my choice to a SE Z500a. My question is, are there any comparable phones, or possible more equipped, for under $200? 😕 I currently do not qualify for any promos from Cingular.

Phone return that was purchased via CSR

😁 A couple of weeks ago I agreed to extend term and got a V551 sent to me.

Now that the v3 has dropped in price I've decided I would rather have it.

I called CSR and they told me I have to return V551 first, then call back and order new phone. I am assuming that account note such?

Does this sound correct?

Cingular new plans

Cingular is changing the plan on June 1st 2005.

They are removing regional plans and changing family plans.

They will no longer have a $29.99 plan which is 200 nationwide minutes with 1000 minutes nights and weekends.

I just had a gentleman come in wanting a PDA phone (smart phone) and wanted my opinion of which I reccomended, and I told him that I thought the Treo 650 was the best of what we had...

question.....with legal stuff and the merger.....

seeing some of these threads and listening to lots and lots of customers cingy is doing a lot of things that are raising eyebrows....a customer came in and said she had a agreement 2 yr with attws and just found out that cingy changed everything without notice....i know that by law you are suppose to notify the consumer and give them options on things they can do with a company no longer around or "absorbed" with another.......cingy isn't doing this and i know the bb and the fcc are investagating this because the company i work for has been in contact with the bb and past attws customers.......my question is to all who know cingy better than i do.......when a customer signs a contract and state laws are different in evry state.....and cingy ...

Paying your bill

I've got a question reguarding bill pay for former ATT customers.

I work at a grocery store where we accept Cingular Blue payments. The machine we use to post the payments uses a light gun that we scan the numbers at the bottom of their payment stub with. To key in the numbers requires somewhere near 30 digits. The account numbers are around 10 and the numbers at the bottom are around 45. To keep from making errors, we MUST have the payment stub to scan.

Some customers are coming in without their stub. We tell them they must have one, and they run down to the store and get a printout, which we cannot use.

My question is this; is there any other way for them to make a payment? I'm assuming they can call and request a new ...

only had service for like 3 mos

i would like to have the phone sent to me and bill me
is this possible?

so far i called cc said they need to know if i qualify for an upgrade, got xfer'd to telesales, was told they only sell phones for new lines of service. got xfer'd to analyst review??!?!?!!? then they
xfer'd to the "payment department" waited 5 mins for her to find the correct xfer code to CC and decided to hang up

please please someone help me
all i want to do is buy that phone without having to go to a store or a 3rd party
