Here's a gem for you all

So, these two gentlemen (both of whom were either mentally challenged or had horrific speach impediments, i couldn't tell) came in just a few minutes ago wanting to do a transfer of service because they were told that they could do so over the phone. No biggie, right? WRONG!

so i go to pull up the account in POS-II, and it errors out on me, saying there is a past due balance. The guys informed me that they had shut off the line because one of them had owed money (both lines were in the one guy's account, and the one was paying the other to keep service).

well, after trying to explain that I couldn't do the ToS due to the past balance, the one man went off on me, screaming at me and whatnot saying that the person over the phone had to...

Cingular suffering some tower problems?

I'm in the 63801-63867-63845 zip code region and seem to be experiencing a lot of problems this week with service. Dropped calls, inability to even access a tower, and signal strength that is all over the map even while just watching the display of the phone are the symptoms.

I'm on tdma at present but thinking about going over to gsm in the near future. I've talked with a couple of "gsm" friends and they're also having problems but not seemingly as bad as mine. Called into CS and was told ad nauseum my problems are 1) tdma 2) tdma and 3) tdma. Somehow doesn't explain how a family member also on tdma but slightly out of this area is doing fine with their service.

Any techies out there know the 411 on this problem??

Aim won't work?

IM trying ot sign onto AIm on my go phone and its not working it says Username or Passowrd incorrect. Anything i need to set up before i can start using this feature because i just clicked on AIM and tried to sign on without setting up anything. I am using the Sony Ericsson T237 😁

about airtime overages

I've always wondered...it is possible that customers are charge more minutes that they actually used?
I mean, a lot of customer call to complaint that hey did not use the amount of minutes they get in their bills.

somebody regulates the minutes? somebody or somehow minutes can be put in the customer accounts and then charge for them and they never used them?

just a question 🙄

why customers do not read there bills

I don't care explaining a bill. but sometimes customers call and they haven't even read the full bill. they just saw the balance and because it was high they call inmediately. just read your bill.

Let's turn the table.

It's seems to me the only thing anyone comes here to do is complain about the horrible life altering experience that caused terrible pain and suffering. Now I know it is frustrating when things don't go the way you expect but the problems are the minority of all of the customer experiences. I'm sure there are atleast 40 million people out there that are completely happy with their service. It is a shame that it can't be perfect all the time, but that is impossible.

And I know that occationaly people call in and get excellent service. I know because that's the only service I give. For example a girl on my team got recognition because a customer sent a letter to the office of the president, saying how happy she was with the attention she g...

Clearing the Air on Issues Related to ATTWS buyout

I have heard so many whiny customers, reps trying to give info and people trying to explain issues relatedto ATTWS/Cingular it makes me sick. I am gonna clear up a lot is issues here which should clear up some misconceptions and enlighten people on stuff that they know partial info about but not the WHOLE story.

First off, Cingular Bought ATTWs, there was no merger in the convential sense, only in the legal sense.The legal term is absorption of another party and using that absorption to make yourself stronger.Cingular Did that by buying the ATTWS assets, network, billing system, customer base, customer service,employees etc....

That being said, thats the end as a merger goes.Cingular agreed according to the terms of the FCC and DOJ to ...

6230 6230 ENS

Is there a way to tell if your 6230 is the ENS one or not, Will it be called the Nokis 6230ENS
or will it just still be called the 6230 and you have to look at a serial number to tell. and if you can tell by the serial number what do you look for.

On Site Tech

I was in a Cingular store today and the guy told me that they didn't have on site tech people. He told me that any time I wanted my phone fixed, it had to be mailed out! I had no clue! He said that no stores have on site tech. This seems rediculous to me...verizon has them at every store, it seems stupid that cingular wouldn't.


If anyone knows about this, if its true or not...please respond! I hate wating on line at the verizon store near me but they can almost always fix it without mailing it, and if they do mail it they give a loaner phone.

v551 as modem through bluetooth

I've been trying to find if this is possible. I have found plenty of post where people talk about doing it, but I have been unable to find any instructions.

I have a Dell 700m with a bluetooth card. I have unlimited data package on cingular. I want to use that package to be able to get my 700m online, through the bluetooth connection.

Please help.

Either switch to cingular...or we'll switch for you!!!!

Today we started taking calls for a new flyer that was dropped in certain markets. These flyers were targeted to current blue tdma customers who are on 19.99 plans. The flyer explains that they can either switch to cingular's 29.99 plan and get the nokia 3120 for free or cancel service with a ETF. While I'm not sure how they can do this, there is absolutely no option to stay on their 19.99 plan. And if they don't call in, they are switched to cingular automatically.

I kid you not..this is the promo we're taking calls on...So it begins...Cing is really going to make customers switch or else.
