Market area question on Cingular.com

When you enter your zip code for shopping online at cingular.com, on the left side of the screen toward the top of the page, it lists the area your zip code is listed in, even it it's 100 miles from your actual location.

The city it lists, say for example, for my area, it says Cleveland, OH. I'm like 130 miles from Cleveland. Does that mean that the city the site lists is the "market area" in which you are in?

Question about Shipping.

I ordered a phone online yesterday. Do they ship the next day? If so they have not shipped yet as the orderstatus website says anyhow. Maybe the website is delayed? Because they promised it to me with in 1-2 days so if they ship it tomorrow it basically has to get to me then or the next day? So in other words it has one day to ship here to California? Anyone know where it ships from anyways? 😳 Confused LOL

no more agreements with T-mobile?

Taken from t-mobile forum

"In January, T-Mobile USA and Cingular Wireless terminated their network sharing joint venture and T-Mobile USA acquired 100 percent ownership of the shared network assets in California, Nevada and New York City, plus additional California spectrum for a net cash payment of $2.46 billion."

does this mean no more roaming agreements?

Cingular's great mysteries

I wanted to start a list of great wonders within our company....feel free to add on.

1) The final release of PTT.
2) The projected roll out date of UTMS
3) The Moto a630 and V635
4) Will Lockline finally insure the RAZR?
5) Will the non-market universal 64K sims actually work in all markets?
6) Does ENS make a difference?
7) Will Cingular complete its spectrum expansion of GSM to cover all of the US by 2005 like my account rep swears by?

That is all I can think of. Maybe some of you techs and call center folks have some good things to add?

How to order a phone online

I just signed up for a family plan through Cingular today, however, they did not have the LG 7110 in the store, so the lady suggested that I order it online. Currently my account is configured like this:
My Account (RAZR): 1500 Minutes
My Son's (RAZR): $9.99 additional
My other son (LG): $9.99 additional
The lady in the store programmed a SIM card with my son's number on it, and activated all three lines, since they were coming over from Sprint. Now, my dilemma, how the heck do I order this phone off of the Cingular web site without selecting a new plan. I have tried logging into the my account section, however, when I press upgrade phone it says my contract has not expired.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Int'l Roaming

My service plan is 1000 Nationwide, and I'm pretty sure I have some "international" rider for about $5 per month, but I think that's related to Taiwan.

I'm visiting Cambridge GB this week. When I couldn't locate the hired car driver at the London airport, I turned on my Cingular phone and found T-Mobile-UK. Made my call and found my ride ... kind of a liberating experience!
... but how much did I spend on that call (~ 3 mins)?

Later in the day, walking around Cambridge, I noted two other carriers were shown in my phone's display. I expect that the actual carrier is immaterial to the cost of making calls?

One year plan?

Does cingular offer a 1 year plan? I'm looking at rate plans online and all I see are 2 year plans. I'd really only like a 1 year plan. Would the prices on phones still hold up or will there be a price difference in phones too?

Thanks!

RAZR and Lockline Insurance

I just spoke to a nice rep at Lockline and I asked her if the RAZR is now cover after the substantial price drop. She said no as of right now but they are working a deal out to have it covered. She did give an ETA when this would be final. Just a little FYI.

As any cingular employee knows. Cingular has created some great rumors some true allot not.
I just heard a good one last night.

Repeat call stats are not getting fixed they are going from %10 to %8.

What rumors has other employees heard?

Can anyone confirm or deny any of these rumors?

P.S All rumors are considered rumors until proof is provided..

Moviso Charge Rant

I've been with Bell South, now Cingular, for 16 years, currently have 5 phones on my account. I added the 5th phone end of February (V400, bought at Cingular owned store, a discontinued phone WHEN I bought it-another story, don't even know if it's "new"). Last 2 months there's been a direct bill charge of $4.99 for this line. Called last month, they said I'd have to go to MediaNet to see about the charge, couldn't find details on this, never got around to checking back. This month I called, person basically said it was my responsibility to figure out who/what/where/etc., she couldn't even tell me what the charge was for but guessed it was 'jamster' and suggested I call them. I got PO'd and got her 'supervisor/manager' (right......). H...
