Looking to switch carriers

So I'm on my second Motorola V400 in less than a year. Cingular won't give me a credit toward a different model. They aren't concerned that I'm threatening to switch carriers. They've given me terrible customer service after more than a 10 year relationship. Can anyone recommend a different carrier? I'm looking at Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile ... Any suggestions?

Liquid Damage

I know liquid damage voids the warrenty, but does lockline cover liquid damage?

Also, if I got so mad that I snapped my phone in half or threw it out the window would they cover me even though it is MY fault. If I called them and said " I broke my phone in half and I need a new one." would they deny my claim because its my fault?

I'm not trying to comit a fraud against lockline, these were just questions I was wondering about.

taken from VZW thread very informative

The C word

by bear-vzw-csr Today, 1:23 AM

A lot of the recent threads have involved discussion of contract renewals, rate plan changes, and the question of when you become eligible for a new phone at discounted pricing. So Iโ€™ve decided to pontificate a little bit on this issue.

The claim that a contract would not be necessary if the carrier provided top-notch service is a compelling argument. And this is exactly how it works for many consumers. There are in fact thousands of customers at VZW and other carriers who are out of contract and quite satisfied with their service. They continue their service with the same carrier, without a contract term, precisely because they are satisfied with their service and see no ...

For those of us who spend all day on PhoneScoop...

What do you do all day other than this? Do you work for the company directly, a 3rd party dealer or something totally different. What exactly do you do?

I work as a customer service rep for a music company. I am also the electronic communications specialist, meaning that I handle all communications regarding customers orders placed online, via email. Also, I handle all processing of online orders. It doesnt sound important, but I am the only one who knows how to do it. I had to actually train someone how to do it for a week when I took my vacation.

We have over 10,000 active customers weekly, but only require 3 customer service reps. Convergys takes all of our orders.

Cingular is buying out T-Mobile?

Is this a rumor that may come true? This I heard from a friend and I don't think this would be a great move for T-Mobile. Please give me some feed back if ya'll heard this rumor.

Family Talk Plan

does anyone else think it's weird that our nation wide plans are the same as our family talk plans?

i think almost every other carrier has it that the family plan includes the first two lines. i wonder if we're ever going to catch on with this.

New Plans in the works

Are there any new plans in the works? My mom has an old blue plan where she pays 19.99 a month for 100 anytime minutes and 3000 night and weekend minutes. (the old blue tdma "cities" plan) and is reluctant to change over to one of the new plans because they don't offer anything comparable. She doesn't use her phone very much and anymore minutes than that would be a waste for her. I realize she could get a free phone but then she would have to pay an $18 upgrade fee plus another $10 a month for the 200 minute plan, with no night and weekend or mobile to mobile. Since she doesn't use it that much I don't blame her for not wanting to switch.

I was told by Cingular today that you could not gat insurance on the SONY s 710a, V3, SAMSUNG P777 or any of the TREO's or any of the BLACK BERRYs what the hell is up with that.
I think I will stick to my V400 at least it had insurance on it. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ‘ฟ ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

My MPX200 died, whats the phone number for the insurance carrier?

Well my MPX200 finally bit the dust.
It was a crappy POS to start with and its finally dead. Luckily for me I have lockline insurance.

Can anyone tell me the phone number to call to make a claim?

Also, what is the replacement phone for the MPX200?

How much is the deductible?

Thanks

50M Party

So, I am hearing that some centers had some sort of celibration over breaking 50. On the other hand, I've heard that Cingular has zeroed the "party" budget in centers that have marked to cut. Guess what, MY center has zero budget! So my question is, have there been ANY celibrations or at least new wall-art in any centers? Or was this party limited to sales and other related departments? It's just nice to know where care stands in the eyes of the company.

3G Services

Cingular has had the same 6 markets since they bought them from ATT. ANy chance of new markets rolling out soon. They are starting to come out with great new 3G phones and I am ready to take advantage of the technology that is available, but I am not so happy with Cingular's progress. Anyone know any future plans or have any new articles on the subject?

Whos fault???

I been receiving a lot of blank text messages on my phone. I have sprint and and my girlfriend has cingular. Whenever she sends txt messages I get them but there is no message. So we always go back and forth about whos service is better so it would be nice to know which carrier is likely to be causing this problem. So if anyone has any ideas it would be great to have support the next time my girl and I have our whos carrier is better debate.
