Question for Cing Reps from a Cing Rep

Are any of you guys having to show up for daily meetings everyday 1 hour before the store opens to prepare for a Mystery Shopper? We are required to be here even if we are closing, which means and 11.5 hour day. Also are you guys all required to work 3 Saturdays a month? Just wondering if it is my market or all markets.....? 😢

Livid with a former AT&T Store

Location: Cool Springs, TN

I have been searching high and low for a Siemens SX66. I found a store that was formerly AT&T Wireless, BUT is now totally marked up as a Cingular store, that would not sell me the phone whatsoever (contract renewal or not) because my telephone number was from another area (southern KY instead of TN).

They cannot renew my contract and give me discounts and rebate because I am from another state (does this sound like old Russia or what), that is tacky, but fine. So after I stew on it a little I decide I still want the thing so I go back to buy it full-price (just a $100 difference). The guy then says he cannot sell it to me no matter what. New subscriber with a TN number ONLY.

girl: "No one can call me?"

Me: "Can you make calls?"

girl: "yes."

me: "ok, I need your wireless number(blah blah blah)"

Me: "ok, I need you to please power off your phone."

girl: "so if I turn it off it'll work?"

Me: "we will see in a moment."

girl: "ok..(fumbling noises....Click)"

EXCITED!!

YES!!! FINALLY!!! The company i work for is going to be a Cingular exclusive dealer starting March 1st! I am so excited to sell Cingular!! and I get a pretty freakin sweet deal on a dealer line 😁 I can't wait!!!

ATTWS phone upgrades

I currently have ATTWS GSM Family National ($59.99 with 900 minutes with 3 lines.) I would like to get a new phone, but don't want to get a new contract (not yet anyway.)

Can I buy a NOKIA 3200 directly from NOKIA and activate it on my plan ?? Do I need to pay attention to like SOC codes ???? What questions should I ask NOKIA ??? Will ATTWS/Cingular BLUE customer service change the ESN to the Nokia 3200 ???

Question about changing the IMEI number on an account >>

I just got the s710a. I called CS and they changed the IMEI number. I then asked if I had to call Lockline since I had the insurance and he told me it would be a good idea to. Do I really need to call them after changin my IMEI number???? If so, what is a dang number I can talk to a live person with? The number they gave me is all automated. It's just for claims and new sucribers for ins. The number they gave me is 888-562-8662

alot you cingular reps can be quite bitter. you must deal with idiotic people most of the day huh?try working with 35 elementary school kids! you'd turn that frown upside down real fast LOL

Treo 180 compatibility with Cingular

I want to use my brother's former T-Mobile Treo 180 on my Cingular plan. I asked a Cingular store tech if I can just swap in the SIM card from my present GSM phone. He said "yes" but cautioned that I would have to pay roaming charges since the phone is set at 900 and 1900 Mhz, wheres Cingular uses 850 and only "roaming" at 1900. Does this make any sense?

Treo 650 sim card

Hi, I just upgraded to the Treo 650. A cingular rep told me to use my old 32k sim card. The Treo came with a 64k sim card. I am having trouble connecting to voice mail (number can not be completed as dialed)I can not change the number. Could the sim card be the problem?

Another faulty phone...

I just recieved my warranty exchange phone thru fedex yesterday and i had to call them back up today cuz this phone had some faulty firmware. Does cingular hand our refurbed phones as warranty exchange phones or something?? and how many exchanged phones can a customer recieve?

RATE PLANS

Hey has anyone else heard that there are no more rate plan changes on the Blue side as of Feb 28, that all the remaining rate plans will be expired. All I can say as Res is this is going to be fun. 😳 😁 😳

And the winner is...

Lady calls in, she has activated a new account with VZW and chose not to Port Out. She said that the VZW rep told her that they would contact us to cancel her Cingular account on her behalf, Nobody ever did. So we billed her.

She calls in, escalates, and wants me to credit her charges out of 'consideration' because VZW did not cancel her account on her behalf. I advised the customer that we never recieved notification of cancellation so the charges are valid.

The kicker? It's Cingular's fault as far as she's concerned and she'll make sure never to use Cingular again.

She get's the award this year... And the year's not even over with.

Out of Contract, upgrading my rate plan..... will this cause a new contract?????

Basically thats the question. I got a new phone recently and want to go ahead and get a nation plan rather than region, to do that will i be required to sign a contract?

also i will be needing to buy a SIM card for my new phone, will they give me any hassle for that? i'v heard i can buy one from them for $30ish bucks and be done with it.

Customers. A little advice to help ease your frustrations.

I hope this helps when you are dealing with sales and customer service reps. KNOW what you are talking about. Don't just call in and throw your assumptions out as expectatioons and then pitch a fit when we can't meet those expectations. If you assume that Cingular Nation GSM comes with canada roaming (which it doesn't) use the resorces available (i.e. customer care, sales reps, or the literature provided you when you were looking at service)to either confirm that assumption or prove it to be inaccurate. If you call me or come in to see me with an innacurate assumption I will apologize for any inconvienience your assumption may have caused, educate you as to the correct information, and bid you a good day. Don't ask me to issue you a cre...

Does any one know how to unlock the ringtones on Motorola phones

Does any 1 know how to unlock ringtones from a motorola phone like the v505 and the v551. I am wondering this because I need to transfer them to my new phone and I don't want to buy them again so if I get them unlocked I can transfer them easily.

Motorola v551 and MobiTV

Does anyone know when the Motorola v551 will be compatible with MobiTV? The local Cingular store said there are software issues that are being worked out, but wasn't sure of a date the phone would be supported. Does anyone know more about when MobiTV will work with the v551?

Does any1 have instant messenger on the at&t v551

I recieved my new at&t v551 and I look at the facts online on the at&t website and it says that it has instant messenger already loaded on the phone but when I look theres nothing there. Then I go to the manual and see that it does say that the v551 is already loaded with instant messenger
