Transferring Rollover Minutes

Quick question:
Is it possible to transfer rollover minutes from one account to another (with the consent of the giving account holder obviously). To me, I don't see why Cingular would care if this happened b/c to them, the minutes are already paid for and they shouldn't care who they go to. Thanks for the info.

Online agent with great name

I had a customer come in to the store the other day with print outs from our website. I am used to handling objections about price differences on our website, and check daily to see what they are. the were talking about a v551 for $75 wich is a deal that I knew wasnt correct. so I checked the print outs that they had, they were from Singular.com. I didnt know wether to laugh at the customer or the website. so I informed them that it wasnt our site, and they couldnt do migrations and made my piddly little $2

Local Woman Receives Racially Hateful Text Messages

Sat Feb 19,12:03 PM ET
Local - KSAT ClickOnSA.com

A local woman said she received racially hateful text messages on her cell phone shortly after making a complaint to T-Mobile.

"I thought it was a joke," the woman said.

She wanted only to be identified as "Delia" because she said the wording of the message embarrassed her.

According to Delia, the message said, "you need to go back to Mexico you taco-bending whore."

Delia said the message was sent an hour after she filed a complaint with T-Mobile about making phone calls to her hometown...

I know it may seem bad....

I know things may look bleek now, but think about it this way....

The plans may be a little more expensive right now, but that is just to see if people will bite. Our data packages, minus T-mobile, are still really competitive with VzW. Also the one thing that you need to keep in mind, is if you are already on a plan that you like with features you like- they are not changing unless you change them. So anyone who has the 750 text for $9.99 can call in and get the 1000 text for $9.99. And trust me, I have been here for a while... I don't see this "strong-arming" working all that long, I think that the plan will come back down, it might take a couple of months, but it will come back down. Besides, look on the bright side, you g...

Phone lock status

Are the world phones still unlocked. I got word that post merger Cingular started locking all their international phone except the 551/v3. Is care going to be able to unlock these now if they are factory locked to cingular sims only? Seems kinda strange that we'd only offer locked phones and no way to unlock them and still advertise international use when the roaming rates are expensive and not as extensive as the coverage area with an unlocked phone and international sim cards.

Razr

Hello Ups delivered to a brand new razr to my friends door and he wants to sell it. If I was to buy it, and I have a cingular account could I use it and exchange my IME or would it be taken away from me? It looks like it was a warranty exchange phone.

Does anyone have a motorola v551 on Attws service.

I was wondering if anyone has a motorola v551 on a at&t rate plan. I just finished ordering one through at&t and was wondering if I would have problems with it on my at&t service. Such as not connecting to the internet and things of that sort.

Background Noise with Cingular in Las Vegas Since AT&T Merge

I'm moving to Las Vegas soon and my new employer uses Cingular wireless and says that since the Cingular/AT&T merger they get a horrible background noise when calling people on other phone networks. I experienced it for myself yesterday - he said he couldn't hear anything wrong on his end, but on my end (I currently have a Treo 600 with Verizon) background noise kept buzzing in and made the connection virtually unusable. Anybody else heard of this - and any idea what Cingular plans to do to correct it?

Calling out Blueguy!

Blueguy, if you work for Cingular Blue, how come on the VzW forum, you are posting the P&P about when people can and can't change ESN's on their account?

What's the big deal anyways, it's just a phone...

I've been reading posts from this website for quite some time. Even though I do not post that often, I just wanted to ask everyone what's the big deal? It's just a phone? And for the reps who work with Cingular, maybe you should take up a hobby then get into "debates" about service and cell phones. This site is awesome for troubleshooting, advice, and reviews, but not for whiny folks complaining about stupid things like who knows more about Cingular or phones. Let's just post to talk about them (cell phones, service, etc.), and screw the "macho talk". Nooned cares if you know more about Cingular, etc. It doesn't matter anyways cuz it seems like that all the reps here have different stories and "facts" about Cingular stuff...there's a certain...

Can't transfer number from ATTWS to Cingular? Argh!

Okay, apparently I screwed myself by buying my V551 on a 3rd-party web site (https://bbywireless.getconnected.com/). I specified that I wanted to port my ATTWS number to the new phone (it asked me for the number during the ordering process), and there was no indication that this would be a problem.

As my phone was being shipped, I recieved an email from Best Buy wireless with my new phone number. Thought it was odd, but I figured there'd be no problem replacing that with my old number once I got the phone. Number portability is SO EASY, right?

So, I get the phone today, call Cingular, and they tell me that because my account was activated with a new number, they can't port my ATTWS number unless I send my new phone back to where I b...

nokia 6340i Gait phone

Hey ya'll. Just let let those of you who have helped with my gait phone question about a week ago know, (some how it got into a heated debate and deleted I see) I got a hold of the 6340i and it works beautifully with my existing sim (from the GSM phone) off the GSM network where my GSM phone didn't work. Thanks for informing me of which phone was gait. Now I can bike easy knowing I can summon help when I'm off the GSM network on my road trips. Thanks.

help: new phone setup

I have a new SE S700i. SE site shows it as compatible with Cingular but now of the setup tools comes through when sent. Cingular tech rep had not a clue. Any thoughts here on why settings would not come through? text messaging seems to work fine.
