Question about PPD

Does Cingular International dialing with prepaid work the same as on a rate plan...in particular, would the phone work in Honduras, Ghana, and the Dominican Republic, and if it does, do any of you know how much the rates would be? Thanks for the help in advance.

What about GAIT coverage

I cannot get a straight answer from 611, several company owned stores and several dealers. What are people to do if they need full national coverage. Many of the most popular ski areas in WVA. are covered by TDMA providers(previous Cingular roaming providers) as well as highway US 93 from Vegas to Reno. The Cingular map shows no coverage in those areas and with GSM phones having no analog back-up; what are users to do? I pay extra for GAIT which I need only a few days a year. Can you use a GSM plan and pay roaming in the TDMA areas when needed? Thanks for assistance.

V400 vs. V551

I have 2 of the V400's, which I have had problems with here in Dallas. I went to the Motorola webiste and saw I can purchase a V551 for $209.00 with no service, but the V400 (an older model w/ no Bluetooth) is listed at $289. Why would that be? I want to buy the V551 and then sell my V400 on Ebay. Any suggestions? Any upcoming Motorola phones I should wait for instead?? Thanks!

The BS that is Cingular!!

Decided to switch carriers and get Cingular, wanted to get the v551. They ran a credit check on me and I waited for over an hour with no answer. They made some calls and needed to get my social security card and make a copy, waited for another 20 min, then they tell me my credit wasn't good and that I needed to pay a 200 dollar deposit. That is complete B.S. first of all, I know my credit is not bad, its great infact, I've gotten loans and credit cards before, no problem, a few days ago I was able to get a 1000 dollar credit from best buy and now I can't even get a freaking cell phone?? what is that? I have friends with really bad credit, and they've gotten cell phones with other carriers easy. 😡

while in mexico?

I live in San Diego California, I went to Mexico today. I was about five miles down, anyway my cell phone banner still said cingular wireless on it. I was scared to use it for fear of international rates. Now if I am further down about 10 miles the banner switches to a Mexico carrier. Is it possible it was still picking up the signal from the U.S.? Just wondering. Thanks for any info.

Problems with travel to Mexico

Went to Cabo with my V400 and we had error messages everytime we tried to use the phone. Something about no being authorized for that service? I went online and read something, and correct me if I am wrong, that anytime you go out of the US you have to first call customer service to let them know and they can give you some special access code, that has to be used every so often while you are out of the country. is this true? If not, what do i need to do when trying to use the phone from Mexico? The people who had T-Mobile had no issues at all.

Calls from Mexico

I frequent Cozumel Mexico to scuba dive and would like to use my Razr to call the states. I'm on a Cingular Nation plan now. Is it possible to purchase prepaid plans somewhere? Would it mean acquiring a different SIM card for use while there? Would I contact Cingular or would it require contacting a service in Cozumel? Sorry, the international thing relative to cell phones is beyond me. I was needing to buy another phone anyway so chose this one with it's quad bands thinking this would improve my chances of making it happen.

Need Assistance From a Tech Please

Help please. I just activated ATTWS on a V551 phone. Under Network Settings, one of the options is Speed. There are 4 choices: slow, medium, fast and continuous. It has been defaulted to Medium. I live in the Central NJ area, so what is the best selection for me?

Can you please also explain what this is and the differences in the selection? I called ATTWS Customer Service but they were clueless.

Thanks in advance.

Motorola E398 on Cingular

Hi, i want a motorola E398, but it doesn't support 850mhz, but i have a nation plan, and i heard that places with no cingular coverage would just allow me to roam on T-mobile, and there are no charges for roaming, can someone knowledgable about this please advise me, a cingular person at the mall said i'd have VERY POOR COVERAGE without 850 frequency, and he seemed kinda lost, Thanks.

Questions about coverage for Cingular reps. pref managers

1.)
I live in Lynchburg, VA (24501) and want to get Cingular. Unfortunately I have no stores around me and on the website it says that there is no coverage in my area. But on the DC/Baltimore map it clearly shows Lynchburg in Cingular coverage with a large amount of service around me. Is there any way that I can get a local number somehow?

2.)
A few weeks ago on the internet the Sony Ericsson T637 was going for $19.99 with a 2 year contract. It was an internet special and I went to get it the next day and it was back up to $109.99. Anyone know when this special is going to run again if it is to run again?

3.)
Are there going to be any phones like the T637 (bar style w/ camera and bluetooth) for around the same price ($109.99) that ...
