I'm anxious to migrate over to Cingular, by next Friday, the big shopping day of the year and am looking to get a video phone by that time. I seen where the phones that have the video recording capability are the Motorola v551 and Nokia 6230. The only other one that I heard that's coming out is the Sony Ericsson z500.

Does anyone know if there might be other video phones out by around Thanksgiving? Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

I am a current AWS user considering migration to Cingular GSM. While examining the new V551 at my local new Cingular store I noticed that AIM is the only IM client available on the phone. The V505 (through AWS up until last week) gave the user a choice between AIM and Yahoo IM (my preferred choice). Is it possible to remove the AIM icon from the main phone menu on the new phones? (I tried on the demo unit and could not change it, just move it down the menu list). The sales rep I spoke with didn't know how to do anything with the phone or IM. Is this exclusive AIM promo across all new Cingular phones (or just a few) at the expense of consumer choice (i.e. you can no longer use Yahoo or MSN IM)? I want nothing to do with AOL. Also, doe...

Just a friendly reminder, most stores do not accept payments. If a store has a payment station it will accept all forms of payment. We can log in to you account and make a payment with a credit card, but never check or cash. Corporate stores may have difference options, but most stores are not corporate ones. The best option to pay your bill with is *PAY or automatic draft. Cash is accepted at all Western Union locations provided you have your account number. On the front page of your bill it describes the various payment options for your account. Paying in a store is not one of them.

Now please stop getting mad at me when you come into my store and I wont take your cash payment. 👿

Anyone have experience with NY Metro coverage with the combined AT&T/Cingular GSM? I currently have Verizon, but I'm considering switching to Cingular and am really sick and tired of Verizon's lackluster phone selection.

I have 2 question both about email: first how do i set up email i have a new phone and want to retrieve emal on the phone. Second i have a few pop 3 email accounts that I want to store on my phone so wherever i go i can receive my email. 😁


P.S. i know this question was asked before and before i asked i searched through the archives of this forum for the awnser but after i went through 50 pages with no sucess i thought i should ask.

First off, I have an LG L1400 flip with a 64K SIM card. Something I have begun to notice is that when I power off and power it back on for like a brief second after the log on screen this message appears: "Message SIM memory full."

Is it really full, or is it just allowing the SIM card to register with my phone? I have downloaded a few ringtones, a couple wallpapers and only have 42 contacts in my phonebook. Not really into downoading games as I dont play them that much.

My next question is that when I download ringtones, wallpapers, etc. do they save only to the phone, or do they save to the SIM card?

Right now through my settings, I have my phonebook to save my contacts to my SIM card and not my cell.

Perhaps on tomorrow they will have it ready.

After a year and a half of semi decent service with nextel I am joining cingular from nextel.

The only thing I can honestly say I will miss from nextel is my i95cl and maybe the free incoming calls (hey cingular that might attract a few more thousand customers ::nudge nudge wink wink:🙂 everything else pretty much sucked (When I lose signal going three feet from my kitchen to my restroom there is a problem)

The phone was INDUSTRUCTABLE in every sense of the word. Hopefully the V551 will serve me well also.

just today on attws's redesigned (cingular phones) site, i saw mention of national tdma share plan? this seems new, but i could find no coverage map for it? am i halucinating, or can i have this?

I am looking to get a new line on my family share plan. I would like some input as to what kind of phone I should get. I have a moto v400 and I don't like it I have exchanged it out 4 times for the same problem. Also I would like a bar style phone with camera. Those are the only features that are a must. I have narrowed my search down to the 6230, 6620, t637. Any help would be appreciated as far a prices with a 2 year activation, features and user experience

Is anyone seeing a large amount of unregistered sims coming into their locations?? Any idea why this is happening? My guess is because of the merger.....

When the headset is plugged into a V400, does it ring in the headset earpiece, for while driving in the car?
