A Nextel Customer About Ready To Jump Ship

I will be visiting and possibly moving to Long Island, New York.
Does anyone on this forum live in either Nassua or Suffolk counties ON LongIsland? For those who have never heard of that island, it lies east of Manhatten, New York. The area codes in those two counties are 631 and 516.
People have told there are towers there, I WANT hear from people who actually use Cingular wireless there.
I find it hard to beleive that there isn't anyone from there on this forum.
(Location wise Long Island is roughly 120 miles long and about 10 to 20 miles wide) I'm not interested in the N.Y. City part.
If you use Cingular in the area mentioned above I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Any of you Cingular folks have a recommendation for business rate plans? I am moving to a part of Washington state that does not have TMo coverage. I need to share about 2500 min between 5 phones. Any ideas? Thanks.

With the first full operational day of the new Cingular quickly approaching, there are two Sony Ericsson phones, both higher end models that are supposted to be released in the very early days of the new company.

Does anyone know if the Z500 or s710 will be coming out at the same time, or which we should be seeing offered first?

Sony Ericsson makes some great phones, and both of these models go into new territory for their company, the Z500 is a flip and the s710 is a twist-type model.

Just found out the LG L1400 is on backorder with Cingular.com. They have no idea when it will come in either. She said it could be tomorrow or a few weeks. I am pretty anxious to get this so I can test the coverage and get rid of Sprint ASAP.

They told me that I could order a new phone and then just send the LG back when I get it. If I decide to go with a different phone does anyone have any reccomendations within the 125.00 price range? I was looking at the Moto V400 as an alternative to the LG. Or the SE T637. Also the Samsung e317, but that is a bit high on the price tag for me.

why are you stores setup that way with all the lawsuits about privacy. When you go into a cingular store for service you dont have any privacy when interacting with an rep. I was in one of cingular stores the other day in the 30mins i was there I over heard two people get denied for a phone 1 of which i know. 😲 could we as customers get some privacy? btw all the stores are like this in my area! I like the colors and styles but would be nice to have some privacy 🙄

Hi everybody. My first time in the forums.

I'm a current Cingular customer (been so since '02) my 2-yr. service agreement comes to an end Nov. 18. I'm in Los Angeles. I have an ancient Nokia 3390 and I'm desperately wanting to get the latest, most fashionable phone on the market when I get a new contract in 2 weeks.

I'm contemplating leaving Cingular for a new company. Why? Well, I want a fashionable top of the line video clamshell flip phone that records video, has a camera (with zoom), color screen, bluetooth, mp3 ringtones, games, etc. Currently, Cingular doesn't have a video flip phone. They only have the Nokia 6600 and I don't want that. I've been hearing massive talk about the Motorola RAZR V3, but I don't want to pay over $300 f...

With the announcement coming from Cingular tomorrow, the 10th, about when products and services will become available to AT&T customers, just how much will we know when logging on to newcingular.com?

We will likely know when "Day One" will be, rumored to be Nov. 15th. It would be great to hear more detail as to what new phones are coming, what promotions there will be, and how many services will be coming our way.

Time will tell, under one day left til we know.

I want to add Media Works to my phone but the stupid website is not allowing me to! Cingular's normal number is closed, and the line we call for activations just closed. Life is so unfair to me.

noticed today that cingular.com gives exact date when your number will be elgible for an upgrade. that should cut down on many calls in itself. 🙂

I just want to know if UMTS will have better sound quality than gsm or is UMTS only for data transfer? In my opinion, CDMA is the clearest for voice calls but i also like GSM.

The cingular website finally split up anytime minutes/m2m minutes! Can't wait til Monday (New Phones?)!

I should call customer service to ask this question, but I'll ask it here first. I'm currently a Verizon customer and I want to switch to Cingular/AT&T. On www.amazon.com I found a deal where I can get $200 back and be able to pay my early termination fee. The only problem is that when I checked on amazon to see if I could keep my number it said that it wasn't available yet. If any of you know any way that I can keep mt number but still be able to get the phone and pay off my early termination fee let me know!
