learn to earn phones

Hello all,

There was a rep in College Station who had reported that some of her friends in the San Antonio market had recieved the Moto learn to earn phones. Has anyone else recieved theirs yet? With that being said we should start recieving them this week.

Widest phone seletion in the industry?

We've heard the statement that "the widest selection of phones in the industry" will be available on Cingular's network. Here we are, just days before the November 15th date, when we are supposted to see Cingular phones and plans available in the former AT&T Wireless stores.

But where are the new phones? I'm ready to upgrade to a Cingular phone and plan, but with the current phone offerings, i'll be waiting longer than expected to do so. The only exception is if Cingular comes out with new phones to ring in the November 15th date to lure in AT&T's former customers...we can only guess that will hopefully be the story.

Cingular's lineup of phones is aging, America's premier carrier needs an upgrade to show it is the best out there and...

New phones in Dallas

I've heard the word. The V3 will be available for order on Friday the 5th. The only bad news... "I have heard the V551 may be released within a week but will let you know for sure." So just hold out a little longer, we should know an exact date within a week.

Cingular #1?

Well, I just read that the merger of Cingular and AT&T is complete. Does this mean that Cingular is the #1 wireless company in
America now? Even so over Verizon?

Is there a problem with the Cingular home page?

It keeps kicking me out and closing down windows once I actually get to the home page and then try to do anything. Tried the computers at work also and it's doing it there also, so if it's a bug at least it's not just my house.

Anyone else having problems?

Razr V3 gone, V551 gone, V180 long gone

I complained about the Moto V180 being pulled off the Cingular web site weeks ago ( it had been on the site for weeks) and I only got one or two replies (probably a mistake, etc.) Of course no one cares about the V180. Now that they have done the same thing with the Razr V3 and V551 everyone is going bonkers.

So now Cingular is in the cell phone shell game business (do you see it now? How about now? No we don't carry it- it's not on the web site).
You have to take screen shots of their web site every day to prove you're not crazy.

It also bothers me that the V180 was designed as a quad-band phone and was being sold as such by AWS. If you bought it from Cingular or T-Mo then it was only tri-band. So if you were an AWS customer and you ...

It's Gone

☹️

Someone please tell me that they saw the V551 on Cingular website yesterday?? Yesterday after getting the run around with Cingular sales reps that I had to order the V551 via the website which doesn't work for upgrades. I call back today and they are telling me that it was never on their website and they have no idea when they will be selling it...... 🤣

Former ATTWS Customers That owe Cing money

Here is an interesting question that was posted in another forum.

I'd like real answers for this question. Speculation is ok as well but lets keep it to a minimum.

What happens if an ATTWS customer owes Cingular money and they migrate to Cingular? Does this mean the customer loses their account (frozen) until they pay the money they owe?

What about people that owe money to ATTWS? Will their debts go away? Will Cingular pick up the outstanding debts (which is considered loss) and attempt to collect? Yes I know this is more of a collections department question.

switching over

In September I upgraded my gsm phone with attws and switched my tdma phone to gsm and put them on a gsm plan. the phones are LG 1150 and Samsung X426. I want to switch over to cingular because their coverage is far better in my area, but i do not want to purchase new phones seeing as i just purchased 2 new phones not so long ago. If I don't move to Cingular will I still expierance better coverage and mobile to mobile feature? Or could i switch to cingular and trade my phones in for similar phones such as the samsung x427 and LG L1200 at no cost and pay the activation fees. thanks in advance!

Would Cingular Retail Reps please stop doing this!!!!

Apparently when the e-mail went out stating that GAIT phones can be on the NAT plans, retail reps got the notion that this meant TDMA phones... The NAT rate plans are NOT meant to be on TDMA phones and everytime retail reps put them on these plans we have to be the bad guy and explain to customers why we have to change their rate plan... First of all it makes customer service look bad... and Secondly, READ YOUR E-MAILS MORE CAREFULLY!!!

prepare to be converged

howdy,
I work for convergys on the attws project and I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is the savings and increased customer service cingular customers will get after the merger with attws. Once cingular executives get a taste of outsourcing I have no doubt they will outsource customer service to convergys just as aws wisely decided too. This will be great for customers as the immense savings will trickle down to them and their customer service level will increase. Sadly this is bad news for cingular employees but I am sure they will adjust to their new lines of employment just as tens of thousands of aws employees did. I can already forsee the posts about how poorly aws customer service is rated etc but I assure ...

migrated customers

Unless I missed something during the AT&T merger training, when we migrate a customer, what will CIngular finance consider it as? Will it be an upgrade or a new activation? I could see it going either way.

How do I open my own Indirect/Authorized Wireless Dealership?

I'm already in the industry (work in direct retail) and have a "angel investor" who's willing to fund me in opening in my own store.

I know almost nothing of the inner workings of the indirect channel however. Do I work through the company or a master dealer? How much startup capital is needed? Do I have to leave any deposits? How do I order handsets?

Any Tips/Advice/Guidlines/Contacts/Pitfalls would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

Retail Employees

For those of you who work in stores...

What's the first thing that comes to mind when someone calls in to ask "What kind of plans/phones do you have?" 😁

Another Extend Question

I'd like to switch to Cingular...but MOST of the area in which I live is covered by TMobile towers...(My office, most of my commute, most of the local shopping areas, etc).

I'm in Dutchess County (Poughkeepsie) NY. I want to make sure this is the type of agreement that won't result in me getting kicked off for being on the extended network too much.

I know the FCC is mandating they unwind a TMobile agreement in NYC, but I don't know if that applies to my area 90 miles north.

Thanks.

Picture / Vidio Phones

I have a Audiovox CDM-9900 from Verizon. Do any of you know if these new generation of phones can send pictures and video across different carriers to friends with similar phones? And by the way: Hello Phone-Pimp where ever you are.
