"Price Plans" after the merger??

Does anyone know anything about plans after the merger? I heard there were going to be 17 price plans (in 3 categories) does anybody have any more info on it?

I am really looking forward to the merger!

Thanks a lot!

VX4500 vs. VX4600

I just recently signed up with ATTW with a Moto V180 phone. Already I'm less than thrilled, but I've got 30 days, so I'm starting to do the research I should've done earlier.

I'm very strongly considering a switch to VZW, and I like what I'm hearing about the LG phones. Strong, reliable connections and ease-of-use are at the top of my want list. I have no need for data messaging, and any phone with a camera is immediately disqualified.

I've narrowed my choices down to two: the VX4500 and the VX4600. I know about the voice system and speakerphone on the 4500, and those are appealing (although maybe not necessary) to me. Since the 4600 dispenses of those things, what are its advantages over the 4500?

Also, I know the 4400 is tr...

Anybody else more dropped calls?

The past three months I have been having many "dropped" calls- about one every other day. I'm not sure if they are actually dropped calls though. When someone is calling, I'll answer the phone, then the "dropped" call occurs, and it's like I had put the person on hold or something. I can't talk to them, but they're still on the line, and I'll have to push "retrieve" to actually talk to them. (I have a SE T616 by the way). I've had the phone for about a year, and it has worked great up until the past three months or so. Does this make sense to anyone?

I told the guy at the Cingular store here in Dallas about the problem, and he said it's probably due to the towers involving the Cingular-ATT merger.

Has anybody else had more droppe...

So just curious.

Ok I'm just guessing but will AT&T be selling their current plans 6 months after the merger or will they start selling Cingular plans directly after the merger? If anyone might know this, I hope they can help out.

Merger Approval Expected To Be Announced Monday

Regulators Let Cingular Buy AT&T Wireless
Merger Will Create Biggest U.S. Cell Firm

The $41 billion merger between Cingular Wireless LLC and AT&T Wireless Services Inc. won approval from the Federal Communications Commission yesterday, according to federal sources close to the agency, paving the way for major changes in the lucrative wireless-phone market.

The FCC and Justice Department plan to announce on Monday that both agencies have signed off on the deal, although the regulators will require Cingular to make some concessions in return, according to the sources, who declined to be identified because the decision has not yet been made public.

Unlocked GSM 6310i and Cingular in ATL

Hello,
I am currently on a cingular GAIT plan originating in AL. I am considering going to a GSM only nationwide plan, so I put my SIM card in an unlocked 6310i phone to asses my coverage in critical areas. I find it works fine everywhere EXCEPT ATL.
It works in DC, my home location, etc. Only ATL seems to be afflicted with this problem. I have searched this forum, groups.google to no avail. Can anyone lend insight?
Tks, ric

So what you know?

Ok I'm sure many people have asked this, but here it goes agian. Does anyone know if Cingular will implement At&t's free incoming text messages into their plans after the merger and also free unlimited mobile-to-mobile on region plans?

Cingular employment?

For a while now, I have had my eyes set on working for Cingular. I currently work for Radio Shack, where we do offer cingular phones. I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions for me. 🙂

What is the age requirement to work for Cingular?

What positions other than sales are there? The stores around here close amazingly early. I believe 7pm is the latest they stay open.

Who would I contact about getting a job?

GSM Gains Significant Network Capacity With New Enhancements
3G Americas' White Paper Details Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC)

Bellevue, WA, September 03, 2003 -

GSM continues to evolve as one of the most advanced mobile technologies in the world incorporating sophisticated technical enhancements such as Single Antenna Interference Cancellation (SAIC), an exciting new capability for improved mobile station performance of GSM networks. 3G Americas today published a white paper titled SAIC and Synchronized Networks for Increased GSM Capacity that shows SAIC simulation and field trial results providing capacity gains of 40-70% in synchronous networks. Additionally, the results showed that even asynchronous systems c...

Moto V180 - Just Curious!

Why is the Moto V180 missing off Cingular's web site?
If it isn't missing on the web site in your region, try 70001 (New Orleans).
Any ideas?

It's still showing up on AT&T (where its a Quad_band phone) and on T-Mobile( where its a Tri-band supporting only T-Mo 1900 and the two European bands).

Cingular University Merger Training

I decided to take the high ground and do the required Cingular University training on the web, instead of missing a day of work and doing it in a classroom. I am refering to TRA 300, 301, and 302. As slow as this week has been, I should have taken the training at an RSO.

It really was all common sense. Anyone else out there who found it insightful? I figured it would be a lot harder to migrate a person or add a line to their account! For those of you who sat in a class, was it worth it? I have been with my mew agent for almost 6 months now, and I still can't get my own POS log-in. I wonder what is up with my IAE?!? 31 of us sales reps and managers, share 4 POS logins...WTF!!

Which Company Is The Best?

I live in Dayton, Ohio, a small town near Columbus and Cincinnati. I am currently with T-Mobile. Haven't had too many problems with them, but I wanted to venture out to find the best possible service, with the most minutes, at the lowest price. I've been thinking about switching to either Verizon or Cingular.

I'm iffy about Verizon, however. They don't offer nearly as many Daytime Minutes as the other companies. (800 Minutes for $59.99?, I think that's too much.) I have 1000 Anytime Minutes with T-Mobile for just $39.99.

Cingular is appealing to me because they have Rollover and over as many minutes as T-Mobile does. But, I don't know how their service/reception/signal strength compares to T-Mobile.

Could someone help me?

Any more info on 6670

Any info if/when cingular will say they well carry and if carrying when it might be released. Nokia says released early 4th qtr.. which means cingular release summer what with all the testing they do.

looking at this over the 7610 or the 6620, but just might break down and get the 6620 later this month. 6670 looks sweet and maybe better than the 7610..

Thanks in adv.

So, about that 7610?...

Does anyone know about when Cingular's gonna get the Nokia 7610? I heard it was on hold. Probably slated for around Christmas?

I would just import it, but there is alot of GSM 850 in my area.

I hate this stupid GAIT phone. =/
