My contract is up in a couple of weeks and I went to Cingular yesterday to figure some things out and am more confused.

I was under the impression that we pay a month in advance. If that is so, then this month's payment due September 25th is an extra payment for them? Is there a way that this month's payment could be the beginning of my next contract? The Cingular sales rep told me that I need to pay this month's payment and then when the contract is up on the 1st of October, they would just give me the money back for the 6 days I didn't use. Well, didn't he mean they would give me the money back for the 23 or so days I didn't use???

my question is the phone has ptt does any one know what platform they will be using, ptt set up time and things related to this topic, and if other phones with ptt will be ready for release when ptt roles out

I am a employee at the new call center in San Antonio Texas...We work for WEST and cingular is the client we are representing. My question is for other Sales Reps. or anyone who might know the facts....

We recieve several calls a day, from customers trying to do sertan things, that were told by our managers we are not suppose to handle and therefore we transfer them to customer service. Many of those customers get upset and tell me that customer service just transferred them to us. A few of these perticular procedures include upgrading phones and changing rate plans. My question to you is WHAT DO WE DO WITH THOSE CALLS... Are we suppose to be upgrading? But maybe our managers dont know we are, so they tell us not to, or something along t...

While the ATT towers in the DC area have been open for quite a while. Will they share the Cingular sysID following the merger.Problem in many areas here; the ATT network is more robust but phones hang on the "home system" and roam only when signal darn near disappears.

Friends of mine are getting Cingular Extend (AT&T) in NYC

And my fathers phone at home just got "Cingular Extend" and when he dialed 611 he got a error message from AT&T

i work in customer care, and ive heard cingular does not have a call center in california, nor do they want one, is there any truth to this?I know by the terms of the sale our jobs in care are guaranteed through jan of 2005, but thye wont tell us anything after that, so i figured go straight to the company who's aquiring us, any employees of cingular on here can shed any light on this issue?! 🙄

Is there any plans to launch WCDMA nationally for Cingular or are they concetrating on plugging holes in their GSM network. Most of the place I tend to travel in the Southeast have only TDMA or Analog, which is why I still have the gait phone and can't upgrade until they do improve GSM. Any info is appreciated.

Looking for information on a Phone that has windows OS on it and bluetooth...

I was looking at the Moto. v710 for verizion but apparently the bluetooth is crippled. is there any hope of having one (a phone with bluetooth) that is not crippled?

Most merger information is speculation as to who will keep their jobs, what att stores will remain open, etc, etc...
If you have this information, you are in a position to not be sharing it!
And, as a cingular rep, we should have our mouthe shut with what we are going to speculate, that is bad business.

Does anyone have an old working 6340 they want to get rid of?

I know someone on here said they worked for SBC, but don't remember who. And I didn't know if Cingular reps had run across this.

SBC is still quoting that the 15-day trial period for a new phone/contract BEGINS on the day of activation (the day you call in to accept terms), NOT the day you purchase the phone.

I explained that Cingular said just the opposite is true, the day you purchase the phone is the day of activation and the 15-day countdown begins.

Now I don't know who is right, but the person at SBC seemed to feel Cingular had misinformed them, as to what they have been telling customers. She said she was going to discuss it with her manager.

Does anyone know if the Oct. 1st date is right for the takeover of AT&T Wireless? If it is, Cingular would have 6 months from that date to have everyone changed over to Cingular completely. Also, would all of Cingular's phone offerings be availble to AT&T customers effective on 10-1-04?

I was reading in one of the posts that TDMA was going to be discontinued. Is that correct? If any of you Cingular reps are allowed to say much, then how much time is left in the tdma tank?

I've got a couple of older family members that have been with Cingular for 4-5 years and have never upgraded to GSM. How much lead time will they get if/when this is about to happen?

I was once an ATTWS customer for several years, until they started to go to GSM from TDMA. Why would a company "blow 41 billions dollars" for a sick company?
Wouldn't it made more sense to use that money to upgrade their company? And please don't tell me they wanted ATTWS customer base. I was one of many thet left ATTWS in droves.

Is EXPRESS the preferred setting for WAP?

I also see HOME, ROAM, and MMS.

Sorry for all my questions, but I'm trying to learn about phones from this century 😁 since my old ones never had MMS/WAP. 😎
