Cingular coverage

I am currently stuck in Kansas and there is no verizon local service so I am always roaming now and that affects my services like voice mail and internet access. looking at switching to Cingular, I work for lockline and we get a small discount with Cingular as well as I work for the Cingular section and I like how they handle the service. one problem I am running into is that the city that I work in has full coverage, that being Salina Kansas, and all of kansas to the right of that. to the left of the state in the area I currently live the coverage is in very small locations, looking like only on a few highways. I am wondering if I will be able to use the phones at all in the area that I live, wether there is roaming coverage there or not...

SPV e200 and Atlanta Cingular Coverage

Hi,

I have a SPVe200 (O2 Xphone, i-mate Spartphone2). It runs on the 900/1800/1900 band. I just signed with T-moblile. I have been with them for 4 days so I can drop them like a bad habit if I need to. I was with t-mobile in 2003 and Cingular from 1999-2004 (rarely used in 2003-2004) and Verizon in 2003-2004.

T-mobile was good but so was Cingular.

I am going back to the GSM network because I have more phone options. The concern I have is how well will the e200 work on Cingulars network since the phopne has no 850? I am in Atlanta and I do not know if the coverage area is mostly 850 or 1900 or a combination.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Hey, Phonepimp...

My T-Mobile contract is coming to its end in just a few short weeks. I'm currently planning to stay with T-Mo, but you've made me see some of the benefits of Cingular... enough to think about possibly switching.

Tempt me.

I need at least 600 minutes with unlimited nights and weekends, nationwide LD, voicemail, wireless Internet without a per-minute charge, and at least 1000 text messages. Insurance is also a must.

I'd like unlimited texting, unlimited instant messaging, a free/cheap camera phone, and possibly a second line. I do not want to pay a deposit.

I'm currently paying about $60/month, but wouldn't mind going a little higher (around $70.)

Thanks!

I'm looking for a job!

Hey all,

I'm currently working for VZW in the west area, but I'm moving to Oklahoma where we dont even exist. I'm looking for a job in the industry - carrier doesnt matter I just need a job in the industry. I work in a contact center but I wouldn't mind working in a store at all. In fact, making commission is a plus. If you have any tips let me know -

Cingular Dealers Website

In the forum it was mentioned that cingular dealers have a website that shows coverage areas and signal strengths. Is this true? Can I go to this site to look at the map? What is it?

To Disturbed

Hey man, I just wanted to address your feelings toward Alltel. I know that down here in my part of the state, it really is the only thing that works in the boon docks. I really dont know about where you are, but i am sorry that you are having problems with them.

Gsm upgrade help

😡

Hi,

I need some advice on how to upgrade my plan.

I posted here 2 wks ago and got some feedback, but have run into a brick wall with cingular.

I currently have a Tdma plan, expires Aug 2005, this is bundled with my BSouth plan.

I want to upgrade to a Gsm Family plan and add 2 lines. Advice I got was to call and talk to service rep and ask for upgrade exception.

I called and talked to a rep, he checked with supervisor and got approval for upgrade. I got his name and email, so have been able to talk with same rep.

He advised doing the change at end of month, so I have waited.

I called Saturday, to place the order for phones, rep said I would be better to place order online as he could not give me the online price f...

Chapel Hill-Which carrier to choose for voice and data?

I'm moving to Carrboro-Chapel Hill. I want a phone with good coverage locally and nationwide as I will be traveling for work. My girlfriend and I will be joining the same carrier if we can get free calls between our two phones. Would a family plan also make sense?

I would also be interested in a data plan so that I can use my phone as a modem for my iBook. Unlimited data would be preferable for a reasonable amount. Bluetooth would be a nice feature but not necessary.

I'm wide open as far which phone to choose. I don't care if it has a camera, but I would like decent email capability.

GAIT plans and Nokia 6340i phone

I wondered if anyone out there happens to live in southern Missouri and subscribes to a GAIT plan from Cingular and also owns the Nokia 6340i? I currently have a Nation-wide TDMA plan along with a Nokia 5160 phone and get pretty good service. I'm just wondering how big a crap shoot it is to consider upgrading to one of the new GSM or GAIT plans & accompanying phones.

If I'm the only Missouri guy in the room, anyone that lives in a mostly rural area can answer my question, I'm sure. It's just that if you lived in southern Missouri, we could also probably share gripes about certain Cingular reps we've dealt with in person 😈

Thanks

Nokia 6230

Does anyone know when Nokia 6230 will be released in Northern California market? I'd like to know whether to keep the SE 637 that I'm trying out.

The SE 637 is a great phone with impressive reception and quality, but, man, is Nokia 6230 sweet!!! Of course, it all depends on price, too. BTW, another question - any word on the price of 6230?

And, man, am I glad that I left Verizon and did not wait for the release of the V710. I played with it today at Radioshack and I am NOT impressed at all. Boo at Verizon for crippling the technology in every possible aspect. Bye!

Of all the things Cingular has done...

I do believe their "Inconsiderate Cell Phone Man" commercial in the movie theaters has and always will be the best marketting agent I've ever seen.

Granted I wouldn't get a Cing phone but I'll be damned if I don't think of Cing when that commercial shows.

V600 and Cingular

I currently own a T610 from T-Mobile and I can't even see the network from my apartment.
I am looking to purchase a V600 from Cingular.
I've heard they have discontinued selling the phone through Cingular.
Can anybody give me the real scoop on why?
What is the deal with the Moto V600 and Cingular?
I've read in these forums that there was an issue with Bluetooth hackability and something about poor reception.
Can anybody tell me exactly what the issue is?
Thanks

For V600 customers

Attention all:

IF you or any of your customers have a V600 that has crapped out, there is a number that Cingular has established due to the massive recall. The number is 800-201-6235. There are 30 Cingular reps that are dedicated to this problem.

I called in yesterday to report my problematic phone, and here is what they did for me. They are overnighting me a New V400 to use, free of charge. They are also throwing in a complementary ear piece to use for the phone that I get to keep, for the trouble.

I will recieve a text message when a new V600 will be available and will sent to me at no charge. All I have to do is send my defective V600 in the postage paid envelope.

Really cool deal for you and your customers. DO not send custom...

Cingular v400 in Europe

I have got a different answer everytime I talk with some one from Cingular (store, customer service, internet)so I need some real practical help. I recently purchased a motorola v400 from a1wireless.com and it arrived already activated with Cingular. I know (or was told) that I can use it in Europe and be on international roaming. I believe the guy on the phone said that he was activating that feature. No problem, I understand that. I also know (or think) that Int'l roaming would be much more expensive than if I purchased a sim card from a European company and used it with a European phone #. Has anyone taken their v400 (straight out of the box)to Europe (specifically Spain) and tried this? I have heard that the v400 comes unlocked but when ...
