do current iphone user get the upgrade for 199/299 or do they pay full pop?

This is the deal: I like the old iPhone plan better than this new one. My wife has a upgradable line right now on ATT. I'm going to give her my phone on Sprint, and I can have her phone on ATT, under a family plan.

Now, if I buy an iPhone used, version 1 of course, do I have to sign any type of contract in order to use it? Will I get the old rate plan for the iPhone 1? How much is 1500 texts on the old plan?

I wanted to upgrade the line to the new iPhone, but 30 for data with no text included is a bit too much for me right now.

I might be moving from Michigan to Oregon later this year, and noticed that 80% of at&t's coverage in Oregon is partner coverage. I was just curious as to which partner at&t used out in that area. Thanks!

I have been hearing that there are some issues with Blackberry Desktop Manager and Windows Vista. I have Vista on my laptop and I am looking to getting a Blackberry Bold when it comes out (August is what I have heard). Does anyone know if this issue will be fixed when the Bold is released? Can cor store reps really not credit charges on a cst's acct.???

For all the hype about the 3G Iphone I wonder how many dissapointed Mac fanboys there will be when they realize how weak ATTs 3G coverage still is,despite them beating thier chests on much better it is now. Sure it may be faster than Verizon's 3G where its available, but looking at the coverage on ATTs website the 3G coverage looks like little islands in a sea. I cant even get an ATT 3G signal in my house and supposedly Im in an area "blanketed" by 3G coverage and I constantly fall back on EDGE all throughout the Phoenix metro area. ATT must have good service in some places with so many subscribers, but it aint Phoenix or Tuscon, thats for sure.

Anyone using this? Your thoughts on ease of use, details, what it shows/tells you compared to what is reality.

I've used the internal GPS in my Tilt with MS Streets & Trips-worked okay.

TRIED to use it with Delorme Pocket Streets-to slow, locked up.

I'm still on the older PDA Connect Unlimited (no tethering) so any data usage wouldn't be an issue. Unit would be plugged into 12V outlet in the car so power drain wouldn't be an issue. I've got a 2GB (may go to bigger card if I can find one cheap) microSD card so if it has to store stuff, space wouldn't be an issue. I'm using the latest AT&T/HTC ROM and did a soft reset during initial boot up so I don't have all the bloatware, so I don't think I have the actual installer for Navi...

based on your knowledge and past experience, is it a lost cause for me to go to an at&t and or apple store after work on friday? I would get to the first at&t a little after 5pm.

Ok, so I am going to get the new iphone like millions of other people. Will I need to pay for enterprise data to access my company's exchange server?

My parents have 2 lines (Family) with ATT and I want to be able to get the iPhone 3G on Friday. If I am added as an authrotized user to the account and even thought I'm 17 will I still be able to get it by myself on Friday?

OK...I need to know the truth on this. If I can save $20/month for unlimited text and use one of these services for free text....I just may get this phone. I need the real details. If you use teleflip/textdrop do you get spammed? Does it count as a text or does it truly come transfer the incoming text to your email?? which one is better? Any others? Too good to be true??!! Am I going to have trouble? I bought an iphone and activated it and then I lost it so I had it taken of my account. I called AT&T and the firs person I talked to said since it was not on my account that I would not get the new one for $199 but then I called back and another rep said the same thing, but then I pointed out that on July the first ATT released that anyone who bought an iphone before July 11th would get to get one for $199 and did not say that you still had to have it on your account and then he looked back in my account and say were I did have one. My wife and I recently moved from NC (919) to Ga (770/67😎. I have a 919 area number with ATT that I intend to keep. She would like to port her 919 from Sprint to ATT. However, ATT is telling us that it can't be done unless there is a billing address in a zip code within the original area code.

I don't understand this. I had a 914 number in NC for many years, then got a 919 and continue to use it in Ga. Why can't ATT port a 919 if we've moved to a new area code?

I've known other people who have done this and told me it was no issue.

Can someone help me understand exactly what the limitation is ?

I was on the At&t site today and I noticed that At&t loves to sell refurb'd phones. Are these phones really reconditioned to like new or are they like the crappy replacements you get thru your insurance? 😕

We live in Georgia, stay mainly north of ATL. We have MetroPCS currently, they have been great (we rarely travel outside of the metro ATL coverage area and it is dirt cheap!) but we are tired of the crappy phones and are looking to travel a bit in the next few years.

Should I go with T mobile or ATT/Cingular? we like getting more for our money, but we're worried about quality of customer service and coverage.
