G1 UMA

Is there away to use wifi on the G1 for phone use?

I was in a small town in rural Georgia and I took my T-Mobile router and was able to use my Black Berry in an area that did not have T-Mobile service. My brother in law had an internet connection and it worked just fine.

The other part of this question could I switch the SIM card to my old BB and use it on UMA? I don't have UMA from T-Mobile now that I have the G1.

Can a Samsung T439 be used as a modem for dial-up internet?

I was wondering. If I bought a USB cable to go from my phone to my PC, and then downloaded the PC Studio software off of Samsung's website, could I use that program to make my phone a modem of sorts that I can use to dial in to my NetZero internet?

The reason I ask this is I want to drop my landline altogether, I just don't need it.

Also, would it be possible to set my local access number as one of my MyFaves?

If they offered DSL or FIOS in my area I wouldn't even consider all this...

Unlimited numbers on MyFaves through GrandCentral.com

🤤 Check this out. I just figured out that if you get a free account at www.grandcentral.com and then use your GrandCentral number as on of your MyFaves, you can choose to show all inbound calls through your GC number (GC is a service that people call to find you on all your phones), then all calls through your GC number will be part of MyFaves and will be totally free! Same for outbound! If you use the GC click2call service from their website (you click the "call" button next to a number in your inbox or address book) and GC will call you and the other person...showing the GC number as the caller ID again! Totally free outbound! You should check it out!

I can't change my screen saver to anything... I can't delete certain features that are locked on there? Will samsung if I call them give me information on how to delete these things???

Is there a UMA guide for dummy's? 🤭

Does anyone know if TMobile is coming out with any new 3G devices, specifically a 3G version of the Blackberry 8900?

Any idea when T-mobile will get G2? or whatever name they chose to call it.

or are they following the AT&T must wait 1 year (iphone to iphone 3G) route.

Thanks!

UMA international

Don't do it!!! HA!! So after all my asking and double checking I am now told usa UMA internationally DOES NOT work the same as it would in the US. All it would do interantionally is keep you from using your anytime minutes but you will be charged whatever the roamiing rate is.

Now why didn't they tell me this when I called twice in Nov, 4-5 times in Dec (before I got the phone and was told yes, you can talk unlimited),... Or when I got the phone at the store told them what I was going to do and they said yes wifi calls for free from whereever you are,... Or when I called in from Saudia Arabia cause I had problems connecting and told them why I got the phone. I spoke to Tmobile about what I was doing and what I needed for on over 10 differ...

How many customers does Tmobile have right now ?

I was just curious to how many customers tmobile have presently, and are they growing as a company.I would hate to bring my current lines with At&t over and have them bought out by the same comapny.I love tmobiles prices and customer service.

Which 3g spectrum is Tmo really on?

I've seen stuff that says Tmo uses 1700 only, both 1700 and 2100, and that it is 1700 but somehow there is "a little extra" around 2100? Trying to figure out which it is...

So

I'm with VZW witch saved my ass the other day.

https://www.phonescoop.com/carriers/forum.php?fm=m&f ... »

But my buddy who came to get me had a G1 witch once we got back to civilization I played with.
That's a really cool phone! 😲
But one thing I noticed right away with the white one you can't see the keys at night, they're very poorly lit.
And to my surprise even in an EDGE only area the browser was pretty fast.
If TMO were to say match VZW's coverage it'd be a no brainer.

Why is TMO a slumlord?

I'm with them and happy with their network, but now looking for a family plan. And we want decent phones. Why does TMO persist in avoiding any decent advanced phone? They make sure their phones are Samsungs without WiFI with Proprietary ports, crappy Sony line and just low class phones. No N95 or N96, no Sony X1, nothing good. Just low class. All I need to stay with them is the 5800.... just give us something to work with if you want people to stay with you! Your string and tin can philosophy won't cut it any longer!

Family Allowances with Firefox

I gots a problem...

When I go to the Family Allowances page in Firefox, I get this message... "For the best experience using Family Allowances, we recommend that you download Adobe Flash Player" and gives me the option to download Flash or "Use Family Allowances without Adobe Flash Player".

I have the latest Flash plug-in installed, reinstalled, re-reinstalled, rebooted, made sure the plug in is active, and I still get that message.

I used to be an IE guy (I like hearing little clicks when I hit a link. I know it's kinda weird but those little clicks make me happy) but I started using Firefox a few weeks ago. Love it, except for 2 problems, one of which wouldn't apply to this forum. The second problem, Family Allowances.

Has anyo...
