Phone Suggestion

I just signed on to T-mobile. I have the Sony T-M506. I would like to switch the phone out with something else, but not quite sure. I am looking for something with good call quality, great battery life, and a good phone to text on. It does not necessarily have to have 3G, but I do live in a suburb of Detroit MI, but my Sony does not show a 3G signal indicator. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated? 😎

Nokia on the T-Mobile Web

I see the fairly new Nokia that has the slide out keyboard and touch screen and I think it's sweet. If I were to get it (I'm assuming it's unlocked) will it work on T-Mobile and have the cool social network features mentioned in the video of it? Does T-Mobile do any type of software thing to phones to get them to use the net or will All unlocked phones be able to use it?
Thanks T-Mobile fans and friends

UMA

So what exactly do you have to do for UMA to work?

The company I work for gives TMO phones out to some for business. And I've been shown that they pick up a Wi-Fi network (SGH-339). Although when I pick up the same network with my laptop I'm unable to connect.

So I've heard for this to work you have to pay for hotspot@home. But on the other hand some make it sound as if any Wi-Fi network will work?

So what's going on in the back ground?
Does the software on the phone verify you have hotspot@home on you account, do you need a password to the network, do you need a TMO router, or could I buy my own TMO phone and use my workplace's Wi-Fi for free?

My predictions for T-Mobile.

I predict that T-Mobile will pass Sprint and become the Third largest U.S. carrier by the end of this year.

Sprint has 38 M as of Nov. 08
T-Mobile has 32.1 M as of Nov. 08

T-Mobile adds 500-600K customers per Quarter,
Sprint loses an average of 1 Million customers per quarter.

Way to go, T-Mobile!

The Gravity Battery

Does anyone have any idea how to expand the battery life on the samesung gravity?

I've had customers return this phone because it can't hold a charge to save it's life! 6 Hours of standby and it's down to 2 battery bars out of 5. I didn't believe them at first, so i took one for a spin for the day. I took it off the charger at 10am, didn't use it, and by like 6 it was almost dead.

any thoughts?

Tmo 3G Expansion plans

Does TMo have any plans to start rolling out more 3G coverage? It just seems odd that they bought all that spectrum a while back, but their 3G footprint is much smaller than AT&T. Granted they are a bit smaller company, but doesn't it hurt their ability to attract and keep techies? I admit to being a bit of a techie myself so I am more concerned about such things, but its starting to get to the point where AT&T seems like the better option even if just to take advantage of 3G, if TMo does not plan on rolling out 3G to more markets. I live in Columbus, OH so I understand that if I were in a big city it wouldn't be an issue since Tmo does cover those with 3G.

Location of International Call Centers

This is kinda funny... 🙄 (MAIN QUESTION IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TEXT)

I've been a employee with the retail channel for over a year as I'm in my final year of college and lately, I've come across a lot of care reps who speak in very heavy accents.

I guess I was under the mistaken impression that we only had call centers in Canada and America.

Sooo... I got my nerve up to ask one of the care reps over the phone what state she was helping me from... she said she was international. Well she finally narrowed it down to Asia but said couldn't tell me any more. Well, I didn't have too; it definitely sounded like she was from India.

So, what countries are our call centers in? Are the majority US and Canada? Or, are we outsourcin...

Blackberry Storm Coming to Tmobile

I heard from a very reliable manager at a Tmobile Direct store that the Storm will be coming out on Tmobile in February. No, he is not talking about the 8900 which will be out on Feb. 11.

Can anyone else confirm this. My main question is it going to be 3G or just Edge w/wifi like the 8900??

Can T-mobile be sued for this?

I own a Sidekick 2008. When I forget to charge it and leave it uncharged for a few hours, it erases my data: calendar data, to-do list data, address book contacts, etc.

When I called customer service today, an employee and her supervisor told me that this problem may be caused by the fact that the Sidekick is "designed to work best with a data plan". This argument seemed ridiculous to me, and grounds for a lawsuit.

I say this because if this is the case, then T-mobile is basically telling its customers: "You better sign up for a data plan, paying 25 dollars a month extra, or else you will lose your important data every time you leave your phone uncharged for a few hours".

The phone also reboots by itself, and when it does, the same ...
