Motorola V710

Ok, so some are complaining about the extras, how does it do as JUST a cell phone. Reception, sound, clarity...?

Ok so much like all of you I have been waiting a long time for this phone to come out. I have been a VZW member for two years now. I had my own phone plan for one year and then decided to join the family plan with the rest of my family. With the release of the new phone, I went to the store to claim my $100 towards a new phone. In the store they informed me that even though I was a memember for two years, technically I was not entitled to a new phone because 1) my plan was not more than $35 a month 2) When I switched to the family plan, my 2 year time period restarted

I have tried talking to the customer service people on the phone but they have no clue as to what is going on. Please let me know what I can do in order to get this p...

anyone who has the phone go to the menu then go to phone info, then go to other information, then go to s/w version and post what it says. i want to see if all the phones released from radio shack had the same version. mine is 8700_01.30.8F

Can someone how has the T720 or T730 and now has the V710 please check to see it they are the use same antennas.

My phone started a strange non-responsive, screen flashing, rebooting failure mode this morning after synching a few contacts via USB (OnSync for Mac, excellent way to spend $10 while waiting for new iSync)

It totally veged. If I removed the battery, let it sit for a while, re-install it would still do this. Couldn't find service, screens flashing etc. Called Moto tech support to see if there was a way to do hard-reset, what the hell was I thinking... call-centered to India, "take it back" they said.

No more available in my area. Can't take to verizon store for re-flash, etc.

Got it to be stable for about a minute with variety of power down/ups via removing battery & power adapter. Went (quickly) to the menu and did Master Reset......

Anyone know how to turn the speakerphone off without a call in progress? I had it on for a call, hung up, and now when i press the speakerphone key it doesn't do anything. It appears that the functionality of the button has been disabled unless a call is in progress.

Any help would be great..

Well, I went out and bought my v710 on 7/30 and I have decided that I am taking it back to Radio Shack this Friday (my day off from work). This is because of several reasons:

1) I am a mac user and my phone didn't sync with bluetooth. This meant that I would have had to input nearly 200 phone numbers if I wanted it to be just like my old phone, something I SHOULDN'T have to do.

2) The RS price is 519 dollars (which is what I paid) and I keep hearing it will be cheaper from Verizon only a few days later. I got a 70 dollar rebate but you can't send that in unless you cut a part of the box off and then you can't return it.

3) I can't even send files to the phone over bluetooth which I should be able to do regardless of syncing. Many ha...

Ive had this for about 5 days now and the phone has had had problems reading the pictures/mp3s/videos on the card, does anyone else have the reader and/or having problems with this? thanks

Ok, it is well know that the V710 is available now, so, I am wondering what next? what cell phone will come out after it? what's the next thing? I think I'm going to wait and upgrade my phone when I'm eligible for it, I was going to get the V710 but seriously paying $500 it's not in my budget, and waiting until the price of the phone is silly cuz by then there might be other better phones out. I think I rather wait for the next big thing, the improvement of the V710 perhaps? Im due for upgrade in April, I will never again get a 3 yr commitment, 2 yrs is enough! I was thinking that maybe by then (April '05) there would be a better phone than this one, does anyone know anything? any input will be appreciated!

Hey just skimmin through here and came across the fact that Verizon will have the new firmware when they come out with the phone. Can someone let me know what this actually is, im not that great with phones and software?

I live in San Antonio TX, and have heard of nobody around here getting there hands on a v710 at RS. But i just got off the phone with my vzw store and was told that they have received the units but have not been given a release date. I'm gonna go with the majority here and place my bets on the 11th. The units are there waiting to be sold. 😁

Just got a call back from Andy (sales rep) at Chumbo and he told me that 128 mb card does in fact come with a sd adapter.
Also 2nd day fed ex included for 37.99
Very pleasant company to do business with and was willing to research and call me back witin 30 minutes.

first off i love this phone so far

but....

the video started playing choppy which it did not do just before. I was rewatching A-rods homer from last nights yankee game (which was a grat game to be at ) and it started playing back all choopy. then i tryed others i had saved and they too started playing bad.


kinda like a computer that hasn't been defraged in a year. anyone else with this problem???/

I'm aware that you can listen to the mp3's on the phone throught the speaker but is there anyway you can use a headset or headphones? Looking for an answer from someone who owns the phone?

Just to let everyone know, I have the motorola HS810 bluetooth headset and it works awesome. I had it up and running in about 30 seconds. I got it off ebay for $74 and that includes shipping.
