Keypad

I wish the keypad on this cell phone would be as the one on the V400/V600. Do you guys know what I mean? Those phones have softer keys, I like them like that, they keypad on the V710 is more like the one on the T730 (hard). Is the latter longer lasting? Did they have problems with the softer keypads? so they decided to go back to the hard ones... any input is appreciated

Hey laxxx47

You said you got the USB reader from Office Max. So did I, but I don't have the phone, or transflash, or adapter. Do you? Did you get the CR-35 (USB1.1). Can you tell me anything about transfer speed. Example: I transfered xxx MB in xxx seconds.

Thanks in advance.

USB SD Card Reader for $2 at Office Max

I've come across this in a couple places between here and HoFo, but I just wanted to throw out a friendly heads up to everyone. Office Max has the reader for $2 ($12 - mail in rebate of $10). I picked one up, it can plug directly into your USB port, or it also comes with a USB cable.

PS- Instead of using another post, I need to double-check (this is something to pay attention to if you go there yourself). They have a few different types of memory card readers going on the same sale. They told me the one that reads Compact Flash cards is the one I was looking for. Is that correct? They had a few other types (ones that read memory sticks, different sized memory cards, etc...).

Macintosh BT Support?

The ONLY thing that has me waiting with this phone is support for Apple iSync technology. A couple of the reviews indicated that it is not Apple's issue but something to do with the phone and the way it handles bluetooth.

So my question is - does anyone know if I will be able to use iSync with this phone over Bluetooth to sync the following?:

- Address Book (WITH pictures for the 710's picture caller ID feature)

-iCal

Any rumors? Successes thus far for Mac users?

Conflicting reports

Reading the "User Reviews" portion of the 710, either you love it or hate it. Some people can get BT connected with their toys and some can't labeling it "crippled". There is no middle road here, either ya or boo. I guess try it and make your own judgement.

Contest over. Call Motoroala your self to verify.

Called Motorola with some questions about another phone. Believe it or not there are other phones available.

There is an option in the phone menu regarding this very contest. The recording says "Thank you for your interest in this Motorola promotion. All Bluetooth headset have been given away and Motorola considers this contest completed..." Then it goes on to tell you the web site to register for future updates and contest...yada yada yada....

Anyway if you don't believe me you can call Motorola your self.

Registered, but what if I return RS phone for Verizon

So, if exchange my RS v710 for a VZ next week, will Mot figure that out and not send the headset? Any way to know if we're among the first 710?

Going into Analog mode...

I noticed yesterday that my phone was going into Analong or no signel alot.... First few days I had both my V710 and T720 (while I was getting my #'s out of the 720) and the V710 had more bars, but yesterday it seemed like it was going out a lot and had low bars... I had done a #228 to update but that didn't seem to help.. anyone else notice it?

Verizon says not until 8/11

I just got a message from Moto which announced that the v710 is availalbe online from Verizon. When I visited the link provided it seems that the offer is only for new customers. When I search the regular Verizon Wireless site. The V710 is no where to be found.

I called Verizon and they told me that Moto screwed up and sent the announcement out too early and the the V710 would not be available in till August 11th. They could not tell me if it will be in the store or only online, but it would be availble on the 11th of Aug.

Moto v710 in stock at VZW. $299.99

I'm in Virginia Beach, VA. on business and I stopped by a local VZW store for VPC I left in my last rental car and the reps were playing with the v710. I played dumb and asked when the release date was and they said, August 11th. I asked how much and they didn't know, so they scanned it and told me it was $399.99 full retail, $299.99 2yr, and $349.99 1yr. They already received the mail rebate forms, which they had out-- $70. I asked if it was just a store demo and they said, no-- they received about two boxes = 20 phones. I guess it was a good thing to wait for VZW-- it's a little cheaper. $229.99 after MIR (2yr) or $129.99 after MIR (NE2). Just thought I'd let you all know if you didn't.

Question for those using bluetooth with PDA (Dial-up)??????

I configured and paired phone successfully with either my notebook PC and Pocket PC (iPaq). I can dial the 1x network and get connected without any problem. On my notebook PC, I can got to web site, everything works. But with iPaq, it keep give me the error "Web site unavailable". But I can see on the phone it is connected with packet data in display. Anything special with pocket PC?

Thanks in advance.
