Anybody else realize this.............

Motorola is saying that Verizon is selling the v710 on the Verzion website but they really aren't. I think this is unfair and I think Motorola or Verizon need to fix this issue. But I do wish yall RS purchasers good luck on being one of the 710.

What Motorola/Verizon is doing...

I see what's going on now.

They are only allowing people to buy the phone online that are signing up for a two year contract, that way, people that planned on upgrading or buying the phone outright cannot sign up for the free bluetooth device.

I just got off the phone with Verizon and they said it's only oderable when you sign up for a two year contract and that it will be orderable to everyone else on the 11th.

I don't know what everyone is screaming about for on the 9th.

NOTE: When you go through the process of signing up for the 2 year plan to get your phone, it says to plan to wait up to 10 days to receive your phone!

Software

I picked up my phone from Radio Shack last Thursday. Today I went to my local Verizon store where a friend of mine works. They have already received the shipment for the phones. I asked him to let me see one and he. Folks, the software is the same, the phone is the same, there is absolutely no difference between the one at verizon or radio shack. PERIOD. So just enjoy the phone and have fun.

First take on V710 7 days old

I have owned the V710 for 7 days now, these are only my opinions so don't jump all over me.

Pros:
1. Fantastic voice recognition no training required.
2. intuitive menus,
3. HS810 bluethooth hands-free works great, the phone is almost worth it for that alone.
4. Good sound quality, volume depends a lot on where you hold the receiver to your ear, it has a small sweet spot & must be held in precisely in the right spot.
5. Camera is very good in optimum lighting

Cons:
1. Piece of junk belt clip, much lesser quality than in past, I am afraid I am going to drop the phone, can't find aftermarket case yet
2. Worst back-lit keypad I have ever seen. You can only see the alphabet & alt functions in total darkness or full light.
3. Pict...

For the next two hours...it would be nice

It would be nice to see only posts about Verizon selling this phone today or not selling this phone today.

Dismal Mobile Web Performance? (1.0)

Anyone else noticing atrocious mobile web performance with 1.0? (I haven't upgraded yet). The IP on my phone is different from my other phones - in fact this one allows HTTP rather than WAP, which is interesting and cool...but the IP is 66.174.77.60 instead of the more familiar 199.74.153.210. I've tried the old IP and various other settings to no avail. I get hung up on "connecting.." or "sending..." all the time; it's so bad it's pretty much unusable. Given my throughput with #777 over NA-MOU it doesn't appear to be the phone or the network, so I conclude Verizon's proxy server at 66.174.77.60 is the culprit.

Any insights would be awesome...
