Motorola V710

When this phone officially hits VZW the price is $319 - a &70 mail in rebate with a 2 yr contract!! The 1 yr price is $369-$70 mir and the Full retail proce with no contract is $419!! The VZW stores officially received anywhere from 20-40 phones yesterday, but they wont go on sale until next week!!!

I have a USB cable for my T720 that works with this phone, but I do not have the USB driver for it. Where can I get a USB driver and software so I can sync my address book and possibly calendar with Outlook? Is there anywhere to download, or must I purchase software from Moto?

I am curious whether or not the pictures from the V710 are any better than all of the other cameras with 300K resolution. As to the flash, I don't think there will ever be a good LED flash. We will have to wait until someone puts a xenon flash in the camera. Till then, outdoors in daytime only. Any ideas? Thanks, Armitech.

Hi, I've noticed that some of you that own the V710's that have shown pictures on this Forum have different backgrounds on your External Screens. How do you change that? I can't find the option in the phone or the directions. Please explain if you know. Thanx.

i saw some people posting that the vx8000 has EV-DO and the v710 doesnt. what is EV-DO? thanks.

has anyone used a different usb blue tooth adapter other than the motorola one with phone tools 2.0.
There is a TRENDware TBW-101UB Bluetooth USB Adapter
that is half the price and is supposed to work with all mobile blue tooth phones.

OK...there's just way too many pages on this forum to search for what I'm looking for. If I may be a little lazy and ask a couple questions.

1. It's been determined that you CAN'T sync the phonebook, calendar and transfer files via Bluetooth..right? If that is the case, can you do those items mentioned via the USB cable?

2. I'm looking to purhcase a USB data cable for Motorola at RadioShack, but the one that they sell requires "FutureDial" software. Is this the same cable requirement needed for Mobile Phone Tools 2.0? If not, where can I purchased the correct cable needed?

I bought my phone at Radio Shack on the 30th and am thinking about returning it. All this talk about firmware flash makes me a little uneasy. The phone has little glitches that I think we have all come across, but I can live with it. The thing is I shouldn't with the amount that was paid. My thought is that maybe the Verizon phone will be more updated on some of the little problmes also. Has anybody returned their phone to Radio Shack? Do they refund you all the money even though the phone has been activiated and used? It just seems a little safer to return my phone and buy is right from Verizon. What should I do?!?

I just wondered if anyone else thinks that an eager salesman could sell the V710 before the 11th maybe like the monday or tuesday before. VZW employees help me out here, why would you let inventory of potential sales sit there? What do you think?

Just want to clarify for everyone expecting crystal clear images from this phone, 1.3 mp camera does not mean the picture quality will be any better. It basically allows you to take a larger picture size. So to me, the camera on the V710 has picture quality as poor as the VGA camera on the V600. It simply produces larger image files.

This is the case with any camera phone. So just because a wave of mega pixel camera phones are coming, don't expect the image quality to be that much better. For image quality to improve, manufacturers need to use higher quality lenses and/or CCD image sensors.

Sony-Ericsson, for example, has been using lenses with great quality and the pictures even at VGA quality look great.

Dispite what you all keep saying, Apple isn't going to do a 'big release' when the phone comes out. They, unlike us, don't really care about the exact day a phone comes out, they are computer people, not phone people.

However, I have read that the new update of Panther (10.3.5) has updates which enable more bluetooth phones, most likely these. This is not out yet but all you mac users that use Software Update will be notified once it is available.
