Motorola V710

I replaceed a Audiovox 8900 with a V710 and this phone is soooo much nicer then the 8900. The phone has a really good feel too it and I llike the keyboard. The speakerphone blows away the audiovox. The display is real nice. Very well set up all the buttons are in the right places!

I'm standing here in a VZW retail store and staring at the OFFICIAL paperwork from VERIZON and MOTO.

The 11th is the release date, as most of you already know, or have speculated.

As far as RS... they are in DEEP **** with Verizon and Verizon is beyond pissed off. Not to mention the fact that not all of the RS stores have the phones-- they are a national chain and shouldnt be selling it if only some stores have the phone...

To those of u who have it already.. ur very lucky... But, the stores that sold the phone to you may have risked a fine or whatever VZW can possibly do to make RS's life a living hell.

Congrats to those of u who have it already... I'll be waiting till the 11th b/c my friends store is the largest retailer in...

I have gone through the steps, and can't get it to work. The PDA (Ipaq 4150) CLEARLY connects to the phone, but after dialing #777 (it seems to do it twice), I get a message on my PDA saying there's an unknown problem.

Has anyone had this happen, and what solves it?

I haven't bought mine yet, but i was looking over the manual that is on the motorola web site and the mp3 player isnt mentioned once, I was just asking anyone who has this phone if the mp3 player is still there.

i got the phone but the volume sucks. its very low and when im walking in manhattan i have to use speakerphone just to hear the other person when its on the loudest volume? can this be fixed? also, how do you use speakerphone once your alreayd in a call? thanks.

First of all - I want to apologize to "ummmmmm" - I gave him a very hard time about his claim that RS would have these phones this wee. Looks like he was right - sorry "ummmmmm"

I have a RS that is holding one for me. I was about to go pick it up - but there are two problems:

#1 - I am entitled to a $100 credit from Verizon, because I'm on the "New Every Two" plan. RS won't honor this - so I'm not going to spend an extra $100 just to get it early. Looks like I'll have to wait until Aug 11th

#2 - Verizon claims they cannot activate this phone yet. I'm not sure if this is true because some people on this site claim to have had it activated... but Verizon says - not until the 11th, when it's "released" in their system.

I know RS won't honor the $100 NE2 credit, but do they honor early upgrade? My contract isn't up until next April, but I am eligible for early upgrade... can I still get the contract price?

I got the v710 today at the Radio Shack in Merrick, NY Long Island. Its an awesome phone so many features, I have to sit down and go through the manual.

It cost $319 but i have the 70 rebate so 249, same as verizons price and they activated it today. I was just using it to make calls.

At RS if you buy 1 accessory you get 10% off the accessory, 2 accessories, 20 off both and 3, you would get 30% off each accessory. Great deal! I bought the 100 motorola bluetooth headset and 2 cheap accessories for a family members phone at $10 each.

I havent had a chance to play with the phone but there is so much to it that i will need a while to play with it

RS just called, it's in San Diego and they're holding mine. So, I've been lurking for months, and now that I'm ready to pull the trigger, I want to know:

-It appeasrs $249 is the price I will pay as a new-every-2 upgrade after rebate regardless of whether I buy today from RS or on the 11th from VZW. Correct?

-Do you guys have any luck getting RS or VZW (if yes which) to throw in accessories for free like chargers, cases, etc.?

I know the Phone Comes with 10MB of Memory. According to Motorola you can record up to 3 min of Video. If this the case has anyone tried to record a video more than 15 seconds and tried sending it across the Verizon Network as pix/txt. Is it capable?

I work for a RS in Eagle Grove Iowa and i just called and our 710's ship tommorrow so we will have them tues or wed....I just can't wait to get mine. 😁

How is it that RS which sux balls was able to release the phone before VZW even? I bet VZW is not happy about the unauthorized release! I bet VZW has them in there back room under guard.

I'm happy you guys got your phones early but you sold your souls to the devil!

So for those of you who have read the manual anyone else notice on pg. 23 where it says you can move video clips via bluetooth to other bluetooth enabled devices?

Will the voice record feature record both sides of a conversation when the phone is not being used with the speakerphone??

Is it possible to sync pics, phone book, etc. using Bluetooth or do you need a data cable?

Ive been watching this forum for six months, but decided it was time that i had to make my first post.

I JUST GOT MY 710 AT RADIOSHACK IN BERGEN COUNTY, NJ. They only had 2 delivered and i had one of them in my hands by 9.35 am this morning.
They didnt have any accessories yet so ill have to take a ride to Circuit city, but man is this thing cool.

Good luck to everyone else. Ill be getting my wife her own 710 from Verizon when it comes out there in a few weeks and i can re-up her for NE2.

You better be damn sure that the phone doesn't have what we call a "Warranty Code=E sticker" on it. RS buys phone from Motorola w/o a warranty in most cirucmstances to lower costs. This means you can't get the phone serviced through a VZW store, only have it sent out through radioshack....
