Motorola V710

Question for those of you who have received the phone???? What firmware and software version do you have, and have you noticed any bugs???

With a very few phones making it into circulation and the offical release date 12 days away, I am wondering if all these early sales will have an inferior firmware version?? And knowing Verizon, they phones won't be able to be flashed for many months..

Any glitches??? Bugs??? Or does this phone actually work out of the box...

What the hell is up with Verizon stores?...Went into a mall store the other day and into a plaza store today to see if they had the dummy yet of the v710...

Why the hell aren't they hyping this phone?...Instead they look at you like your an asshole and say they never even heard of it and have no info what so ever...Then one retard tells me I need to go to Nextel cuz they have the phone I'm looking for...Makes no sense to me why they don't have any hype at all going.

Hey glad to tell you the phone arrived today.. and its sweet we recieved two to our store and I'll be purchasing one of them today... so that leaves one more to a lucky cust...

oh and just a thought for people not eligable for an upgrade RS is offering %10 off any purchases and also 6 months no interest

at verizon they tack the cost onto your bill what does Radioshack do? I assume its in store you have to pay in store. Am I right?

For those who got their phones, have you activated them with verizon? if so, did they have trouble or give you trouble cause verizon did not release it?thanks

BTW, I ordered a 128mb TF card from amazon yesterday w/ free shipping, and the tracking says it's already out for delivery! That's the fastest Amazon turn around I've ever had! And for an item that's not officially in stock yet! nice.

Here are some pics of/from the phone that actually does exist. I just got mine today right off the FedEx truck at RadioShack. The first pics are of the phone taken with a digital camera. Just wondering if anyone knows if the V710 will be able use your own MP3's for ringtones? Or did VZW make it so you have to use GIN? There are some ringers that just aren't available that I want to use.

As of 12:00 -- I picked up the first!

Checked online RS stock and my local store had green lights. I called and the guy said he had 2. Had him hold one for me for 15 min till I got there. I usually despise RS, but I have waited too long for this thing. I showed up and the manager was an old surfing buddy, so I was (finally) taken care of well. Also, I purchased the RS data cable for this phone and he said the SnapSync software, regularly $41 comes with it free now.
Still learning this thing, but so far.... speakerphone is awesome (main reason for purchase) front LCD not great resolution, but better than I had expected; comes with a non-swivel belt clip AND the phone stays in the clip when phone is open, which is what I was hoping for to use in the car clipped to visor and use ...

just talked with rs/they got the phone first because of other ties with motorola products/ price 319./ 70 mail-in rebate/ with 2 yr agreement/ 350 with rebate for 1 yr.Just wanted to add so facts hope they help,

Just spoke with a RS in the area and he checked to see if he had any in transit (no) and also checked availability in all other stores in the district - no one has any/or had gotten any in yet..

IMO, VZW really screwed up if RS is making the first sales on these phones... from a marketing and branding perspective, VZW corp stores should ALWAYS be the first to have any new phone. not that i care that much either way, but VZW really sort of shot themselves in the foot by not being the first out of the block themselves.
