Memory Card Specs

wildislander2 said:
That makes more since that you have to add the card to expand the Video Time, from a business side it makes since to start out at 15 sec, that way it can get someone excited about expand the time and purchase the card and the end more money for motorola. Can VZWsalesrep find out if the cards will be available at the launch date?

According to my information, the V710s will ship with the 56 mb card included (tentative). However, within a month or so after launch thr 128 mb cards will be available to purchase through VZW Direct channels (Telesales, retal stores) and through Motorola directly. Also, I'm told that within a year or so they'll be offering cards in the 512mb-1 gb range. Hope this helps. 😁

Which is the better Bluetooth Headset? HS810 or HS820

The Motorola HS820 just came out following in the footsteps of the HS810 earlier this year. The higher model number of the HS820 suggests that it is an improvement over the HS810, and the new headset actually lasts 6hrs, an hour up from 5hrs, of talk time and is compatible with Bluetooth 1.2. In addition the new model is smaller than the HS810 when that model is fully extended. However, what confuses me is that the HS810 ($99.00) is more expensive than the HS820 ($79.99) which seems like an improvement. Which model is better? Why?

Other cases?

Since the topic of the belt clip came up, it made me think what other cases are out there that are either for the V710 or would fit it. Anybody know?

Thanks!

For all of us WITHOUT the Acura Bluetooth Car...

Here is a nice aftermarket item -- The nice thing about it is that it has a built-in Caller-ID display. It runs about $250 or so (not including installation)

They also make one that doesn't have a display, but announces the caller-ID info vocally.

They also make one with a GPS function...

v710: what (if anything) is included beside the handset?

I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere but I can't seem to find any information.

I assume the v710 will include a battery and some sort of charger but does anyone know what else might be included with the phone (e.g. PhoneTools s/w, data cable)?

Just curious. Thanks!

No Contract no phone for the first shipment.

Found out today that Verizon will not sell the phone outright with the first shipment. they want atleast a one year contract. Had a buddy looking into getting me one and his buddy said that they were told no contract no phone yet. It will be a couple of weeks until they will sell the phone without a contract

The v710 is GPS enabled. With that in mind will an app or download or something be available to use the GPS to provide navigation directions? The i710 by motorola does this with its GPS enabled. Because the would make this phone a super-duper must have

Bluetooth pro install car kits!

I currently have the T730 phone which I am desperately awaiting the arrival of the V710. However, since I do lots of driving and love the convenience, I currently have a pro install car kit (cradle, mic, speaker and antenna) and all I do is enter the car and snap the phone in. It charges and boosts the signal and I am very happy with the hands free operation.

The question I got is: Since the V710 has the new Bluetooth technology - which I want to explore, I was wondering if anyone knows of manufacturer that produces a Bluetooth hands free kit that you can plug in a cradle and/or antenna with a small screen and control panel so that I can view the number ID of the caller and that it can charge the battery when I am talking or not!

Mac OSX iSunc possible solution

If the V710 doesn't have iSync compatibility, I found this:

http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_t ... »

The V600 from Motorola doesn't have iSync support but this guy wrote a program like iSync that does support the V600. I would be willing to bet he might support the V710 when it comes out, or maybe it works with it already.

Anyone who gets a 710 and has a mac and wants to try this out, please do so. I am interested in what Mac Sync possibilities there are. Best of all, this is a free program!

V710 Phonebook

Does anyone know if the V710 allows you to store up to 5 tel numbers per person like the LG VX6000? I heard the V600 phonebook was crap because it didn't allow you to list several numbers under one name.

no obex, no sale

On the off chance that either vzw or moto people who care read this forum...

The lack of the obex bluetooth profile for this phone means no sale for me. FYI, obex allows you to exchange data objects (files, pictures, mp3s, contacts, appts etc.) directly with a companion bluetooth enabled device like a pda or notebook.

Having a 1MP camera, 10 MB on board memory, and optional transflash memory would all but scream the need for obex I'd imagine.

If it was a marketing decision on the part of moto and vzw, it failed in my case. If it was only a design decision by moto is was a poor one, imo.

I purchased a V600 (which supports obex) under AT&T through Amazon for $50 with a 1 year contract. I'm not crazy about gsm, ...

taxes on phones

Does anyone know if you pay the tax on the price you buy the phone for? OR do you pay for tax of the retail price before discounts from 2 or 1 year contracts as well as rebates. Also, do you pay these same taxes if you buy it online or through the phone?

VZW policy

Quick question. Currently I am using a v60c, I have been eligible to upgrade to a new phone via new every 2 since april however I have been holding out for either the 710 or possibly the 8000. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 2 year period I have to wait to get a new phone will be 2 years from april, or when I buy the new phone. Any insight you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
