TransFlash MP3???

Does any one know about the mp3 capabilities with the t-flash card? I'd like to know if you are able to transfer mp3's to the card and use them as ringers???? I assume that they probably will disable that feature because that may actually make a Verizon wireless customer happy, and they wouldn't want that to happen. If it does have that feature then im sold, if not then I'll forget about this stupid phone all together. Thanks!

HELP!!!!

Ok, here's my issue. I don't have that much money to spend and as you guys know the phone is already $249 with the $70 mail-in rebate. I noticed that there are two headsets, the HS810 priced at $99.99 and the HS820 priced at $79.99. I know that the HS810 comes with a Neck Strap, Travel Charger, and Carry Case and that the HS820 just comes with the charger. What I want to know is what's the main difference in between the two that makes one better than the other. Thanks Again guys, and just like the rest of you I can't wait for this phone to be released!

Level 2's v710 testing page

Hey all! I am back, with a new site. My hosting service crashed, they lost all the email sent over the weekend, and I decided to move out and move on.

I am in Chicago now, and have loads of new info to share. And while I am in the area, I will take the Liberty(ville) to go meet some 'associates' for lunch. More on that tomorrow nite on the site, which now is:

http://4.21.138.84/EquipmentTestingList.htm »

Over lunch there will be a software upgrade going on, an 810 for dessert and maybe some photos... who knows!

Figure out where I am having lunch yet?

why can't we all just get along?

I, like all of you on here, have been greatly anticipating the release of this phone. Now, if i am correct, this is a forum to talk about phones and not bash eachother whenever someone posts something. Why not stick to the freakin topic, THE MOTOROLA V710? We now know the approximate release date, so for all those that have nothing better to do than sit here all day and wait to tear someone's head off, piss off and do something constructive with your life, like get a freaking job! Just my 2 cents, and i am sure all those mentioned above will have a lot to say.

USB

I just saw the video about this phone on the moto website and the phone looked really cool. Do you know if you could connect the phone to a computer to download ringtones off the computer to the phone, put pictures on the computer and do other stuff without using USB but using some other way? My guess would that the PC Syc thing would do the trick. Tell me if im right. Thanks in advance.

I wonder...

how a company that makes such "lousy phones" (according to some on this board) can gain market share in such a cut throat market like handsets? Read on McDuff...

Motorola posts loss but picks up handset share

By Ben Klayman

CHICAGO, July 20 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc. (MOT) on Tuesday posted a quarterly net loss due to the partial spinoff of its chip unit, but sales surged and it won share from its rivals in the growing global cell phone market.

Motorola, whose shares rose 5.6 percent in after-hours trading on INET, also forecast stronger-than-expected sales in the current third quarter.

Motorola reported a second-quarter net loss of $203 million, or 9 cents a share, compared with a...

Pricing Equations

Because my contract is not up until February (so I wouldn't be able to upgrade until December), here is my pricing for the V710 full retail. Does anyone think this could be incorrect?

LG VX 6000
= $299.99 no contract
= $199.99 two year contract ($70.00 off = $129.99)

LG VX 7000
= $349.99 no contract
= $249.99 two year contract ($70.00 off = $189.99)

Moto V710
= $419.99 not contract
= $319.99 two year contract ($70.00 off = $249.99)

Another news article

OK, as per the unofficial rule on multiple posting of an already posted tidbit, I skimmed over the threads to make sure this didnt pop up elsewhere, and didn't see it yet. (Sorry, didn't check HoFo or anywhere else) Anyway,
here's an article with a bit of curious info....

"Sales last year lagged when the company in September told Verizon Wireless Inc it would not have its V710 camera phone ready in time for the holiday season. In December, Motorola delayed some camera phone shipments because it did not have enough parts to meet demand.

Verizon Wireless, the largest US mobile-phone carrier, said the phone is still in testing. The ongoing delay "makes people wonder whether these guys are turning it around in terms of execution," Krause ...

Bluetooth Sync Question

Aside from a blue-tooth adapter for my PC, what else will I need to sync my PC PIM software with the address book from the phone?

Do I need special software on the PC?
Can I use Outlook or Palm software? If so - how do I tell the PC which numbers to send to the phone? There must be a 3rd party app that handles all of this - right? If so, does it come with the phone? If not - what is it, and how much does it cost?

Thanks

Anyone remember the 3 weeks thing from Alchemist?

If you remember what the alchemist said (and he seemed credible since he was at that moto conference), the v710 will be available 3 weeks after the final authorization is received. This would seem to indicate the 10th.
(but i can always hope for it sooner).
