I've been checking this site sporatically cause I was told to by a Verizon rep, but when i got here I saw all the mess, crap, bs, and stuff you guys just dont know anything about and speaking on and it just gets on my nerves. So i dont even view the forum. Why not just say "I think..." or "I hope..." this phone comes out on "any date" instead of making up this elaborate story like u invented the phone or something like that? I mean like what do u stand to gain from lieing unless ur just crazy or retarded. Believe me noone cares if u guess the right release date of this phone, and noone even knows u. The fact that Moto hasn't updated the expiration date on the contest rules is completely, totally, 100% meaningless. August 2 may roll around, and the contest rules may still say "Ends August 1." Until the contest actually starts (when the phone comes out) the end date is meaningless.

If they had changed it again, you MIGHT be able to read something (like additional delays) into that, but no change is no news.

There is no reason whatsoever that Moto can't change the end date of the contest 5 minutes before the phone goes on sale. Therefore, there's no reason whatsoever to read anything at all into the fact that it has not changed.

#1 We at VZW customer service and sales do not know when the phone is going to drop. The just dont tell us, we know about 2days before it comes out. We say soon just to keep hope..Have'nt you guys and ladies lost faith in us we been saying that since April thought yall would catch on.

first off, dont u guys read previous posts? Anyways to sum up AGAIN: 1. The ebay phones r Romanian scams and since March, he's hijacked about 60 accounts.2. The 710 is in final flashing and if all goes well, will be out in 45 days. (45 days from last week when they started final flashing) which put it not today not next week but August/early September. 3.If final flashing/final test doesnt 100% get rid of remaining bugs/issues, then its going to be more time for phone to b released, maybe October or beyond. 3. VZW has not yet agreed 100% to release the phone and if issues dont resolve, they can nix it. They dont care, theyre a multi billion $$ Corp. I would find it interesting to see how many people find the 710 to be less than adequate for their needs and wants upon availability. With all the hype, this is bound to happen.

Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing what the V265 can do and how VZW implements the GPS location/direction feature.

I'll stick with my trusty Startac 7868W until it breaks or the next quality phone comes out that can beat my 7868W.

I have been reading this forum since I found out about this phone a while back and have to say it's hilarious some of the stuff that has been posted.

Take it for what it's worth it (and I don't blame you if you think I am full of **** because 2/3 of the people here are), but I used to work for Motorola and still have friends who do.

A friend of mine still at Motorola (Boynton Beach plant which actually closed down so he is now at Quantum Park) he personally did the FINAL testing for Motorola (something to do with the signal response) about a month and a half ago. He said the final results were lower than the initial but still higher than a few competitor phones he tested (Nokia and LG are the only ones I remember).

My family just walked out on me because I did not get this phone in time. I know it is sad, but one day when I do have it, they will all come running back! I will keep all of you posted. See why this phone is so important?

We will see this phone in July. I thought maybe tomorrow but next Tuesday (the 27th) is the day. I'm sticking to some stores having a lot and some stores having less then 10 but this phone will be in some of our hands come next Tuesday. Phone scoop said July, Moto said July and now 800-2-join-in is saying July. Good luck and God speed.

... for what it may be worth... i've heard from a reliable source that the phone will not drop soon. It will be pushed back once again.

in addition, he (my source, a representative that has climbed fairly high up the ladder) has recently seen and played with a test phone. when i asked him about his overall impression, he agreed that it is a nice phone ("worth buying"). however, he also noted that its size is slightly larger than your average phone and actually compared it to nextel's 730i... so for those of you that are looking for a lil' tiny phone, this may be news to you.

vzw gave moto final shipping authorization. the package and it's contents (ie. manual cable etc.) was given approval today. the software/firmware version on the v710 is 1.30.8E.
