customer service(disscusion)

funny thing the other day we were talking about outsourcing customer service. And right now there is a show(nerd nation) on teaching Indian people to speak with an American accent for the purpose of working in a call center in India. so even if it the service rep sounds like an American doesn't mean they are American or in the USA.

Final Answer

Stop waiting and go get a LG 7000! I just did since I sell them. It is the best phone (quality and features) on the market with the best carrier bar non. I was going to wait and try the 710 first but the release date seems to get farther away instead of closer. I will use my new LG with pleasure. Only thing holding it back is the lack of speaker and bluetooth, but everything else is perfect. When the v710 does come out I will give it a whirl. If it is better I'll just sell my LG to a customer at 10% off 😉

Cost

I realize this may have been posted already, I just don't want to dig all through the pages of this forum. Does anyone know how much this phone will cost with signing a two year contract?

LG bought time from Verizon to delay 710

Could it be possible that maybe LG lined motorola's pockets with special incentives, kickbacks, etc to delay the rollout of the 710? After all it would be LG's main competitor. And July and December are probably the busiest times of the year for phone sales.

Sounds like a possible powerplay to me.

IMPORTANT INFO ON V710 =)

LOOK PEOPLE ... NO ONE KNOWS **** ABOUT THIS PHONE BECAUSE IT IS NOT OUT YET. THE ONLY THING WE KNOW IS THAT THE V710 HAD SOME SOFTWARE GLITCHES AND FAILED VERIZONS TESTING. NOW MOTOROLA FIXED THE PROBLEM, AND THE PHONE IS BACK UNDER TESTING.
VERIZON IS BEING SLOW ON COMING OUT WITH THIS PHONE ... BUT WHEN IT COMES OUT IT WILL WORK PERFECT. ITS WORTH THE WAIT ... IMAGINE PAYING ALMOST $400 ON A PHONE THAT DOESNT WORK.
THEN PEOPLE WILL BE COMPLAINING THE **** DOESNT WORK, AND RETURNING THE PHONE. SO LETS ALL RELAX AND WAIT...
THE PHONE WILL BE COMING OUT PROBABLY BY AUGUST!!! VERIZON IS A GOOD PROVIDER, AND ALWAYS GETS THE BEST RATINGS. THEY HAVE THE BEST PHONES, THE BEST RECEPTION, AND GREAT PLANS (SHOULD START NIGHTS EARLIER)...

Motorola explains V-series phone delays

Hey guys here is a article I stumbled through, what a joke!!! 😡

In a statement released earlier, Motorola has confirmed rumors that it is having supply problems for its latest V-series camera phones.

Tom Lynch, President of the Personal Communications Sector at Motorola, said that while the company’s new integrated-camera handsets are winning rave reviews with industry experts, mobile operators, and consumers, supply constraints for integrated-camera components are posing a challenge to delivery efforts.

“The Motorola V300 and V500 began shipping earlier in the quarter and are available today, and the V600 will ship imminently” Lynch said. “Unit volumes, however, are lower than our customers are asking for due to supply const...

Just Called Local Verizon Store

I was told that they had received the phones couple of weeks ago but had to send them back because of software issue as you know. Now the tentative released date is not fixed cause they dont have any phones in hand they said that usually before a phone is released they get the phones like 2 to 3 weeks prior and they havent gotten anything yet. So the phone might be released according to them sometime early August to End and if its not released then, then you should see it on shelves by November because thats when the VX8000 is schedule to be released with the New Sony Ericsson Push to Talk Phone. So lets all hope it will be this August and not in November.
By The Way the New Sony Ericsson Push to talk is cool it also has Bluetooth and EVDO ...

v710 testing contiues

I have made some updates to the v710 Log. I have received tons of emails with all great questions, I will continue to answer when I have time, and post them as I have time and see them fit.

Let me just say that if you had this phone now, you would not be thrilled with the little bugs. I, as a shop and a tech, am not thrilled. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I anxiously await the software upgrade it needs as well...

They're saying August now

I know we all hear a lot of hype regarding the release dates, but I have a credible friend that works at the Verizon in Cleveland Ohio and he said today that the V710 is now slated for August...that also means it could be pushed back to September even because it was also slated for June and July...which as we all know have come and gone.

At earliest EOM. Beginning of next is still questionable, but more likely.

airplane friendly phones?

I read somewhere that some phones can turn off the radio portions of a cell phone so that the other features can be used on an airplane. Has Motorola made any phones like this? Maybe an indicator that the 710 may have this feature. I would really like to use the MP3 player on my frequent plane trips. Thanks for any info

Anyone know...

whats the purpose of having multiple bands on a cell phone. ex:800MHz,1900MHz. Some phones are dual, tri, and quad band. What makes the quad band so special over a dual band phone? 😁

DECIDING FACTOR

I've read reports of not being able to transfer data such as images (Pictures) and sound (ring tones) Via the removable memory!

I was planning on adding ring tones and wallpaper to the phone by putting them on the removable memory an then save it to the phone.

I was also planning on transferring pictures I've taken with the phone on to the removable memory and then onto my computer so I won't have to send them through pix/flix messaging.

If this isn't possible I'm going back to my the LG VX7000 or waiting for the LG VX8000!

Screw Motorola

Motorola is the one who promoted this phone not Verizon and now they can't deliver because of a problem. I hope it has something to do with Moto out-sourcing their manufacturing to China.

Gee...why do all the stores give different dates?

Um... maybe because none of them KNOW when the phone is coming out. This 2-3 weeks on hand, 1-2 days on hand, all of this is garbage. The 7000 was in the store not 5 days before the release. All of this supposed "concrete info" that some random sales guy or store told you is completely unreliable. Can we please stick to posts from sources other than VZW Sales & VZW CST SERV. I can assure you neither has any inside info 99% of the time. You can call 15 stores and get 15 answers, you don't believe me, give it a shot with 5 of them. They are going to probably tell you farther out just to prevent more calls in.
