Motorola V710

ok people i'm the CEO of verizon and i must say we have been having a laugh checking out this forum. Why do you people want it so bad anyway?

1.) the battery life is 3.33 hours. (and thats when other features like blutooth, infra-red etc are not on. get real people. the battery lasts for like 2 hrs with a bluetooth headset enabled. Wait till you want to use it to play Mp3's. oh and talking about Mp3's it can only play songs with bitrates less than 64kbs.

2.)It has bluetooth !! yeeha! oh except that you cant send pictures to other bluetooth enabled devices because verizon want you to use their picture messaging. 🙂

3.)Did you guys read the info? this phone is 3.70" x 1.93" x 0.92" 😲 . why dont you cut yourself a box of those dime...

we finally get to see if VZWsales was lying all this time..... cuz the stores would HAVE to have them by today.... ima try and drop by my local store today to find out.....

I've heard from some very good sources (aka my cell phone supplier) that lots of stores are seriously considering not carrying the V710 any time soon if at all because of software glitches that can't seem to be ironed out. They say it's like the roll out of the infamous V720 and everybody remembers what a piece of crap phone that was 🤭 . I'm putting my money else where for the time being (like a vx7000/8000)

I noticed that ebay has got the v710 with the bluetooth headset, speaker, and computer software for $349! 😁 This seems like a great deal, but does anyone know the legitimacy of this item? That package is a good price for what is included; they say 10 or so are available. Any comments on this? 😕

I just got the new Lg phone from verizon, and i talked to the guy about the v710, and he said that it's overrated. He had a customer come in to activate it and he said it was so-so... a classic motorola phone, so that def. made my decision and i went w/ the LG, if you have any questions on the phone post them on the forum, or email me @ [email protected]

anyone have an idea of what the cost will be for the v710, rebates?

Okay people. The V710 completed all testing and was approved as of last Monday. Verizon recently received updated software for the phone and may have approved that as early as today. Once that software is approved it will be loaded onto the phones and they will be headed to stores. End of this week or beginning of next week would be my guess if there are no further snags.

BTW, there has been some issue with others on this forum addressing my credibility. I have come to a point where I simply do not care bout that. Believe if you want, or choose not to. Just providing information. Have fun all!

I spoke to VZW today, and it was explained to me that their practice is to "test market" the phone prior to general public release. Generally, it's 2-3 months of a process, and just because the "manufacturer" has released the phone, does not mean VZW will release it at the same time.

So there's the scoop. And that seems consistent with the information I've been able to get from Verizon all along.

I stumbled on this forum while looking for information on the Motorola V710. After reading some of your posts I think all of you need to get out and get a life! Either some of you don't know what GMT is or you're really up at 3 in the mourning writing this crap. Jeez oh Pete! Stop worrying about when the next new toy is coming out
and get some sun. I get the idea that you're the people you see driving, walking, eating, swimming and watching movies that can't be without a phone constantly stuck to their ear. The phone will be out when it's out.

How is the v710 bluetooth capability compared to the v600? Is the Shell plastic or metal like v600? Those of you who have a v600 how would you rate the v600?

How long has Verizon been upgrading their website? It seems like for the past three months I've been getting the page that they're upgrading their website. Before, I could bypass it, but now I can't.

I must admit, I feel pretty stupid. I really fooled myself into believing that this phone was coming out on or around independence day. Because Motorola was saying "the phone that represents independence" and the timing just seemed so right. I don't know. I've been coming to this forum daily for the past four months and I'm really sick of waiting (as are the rest of you I'm sure). I really have absolutely no interest in this phone anymore.

I'm really waiting for the v710 🙄 but my phone is dying ☹️ so out of the samsung a670 or the lgvx7000 which one would be better?

remember this: All he did was answer truthfully all week and post pics and spend a lot of time answering repetitive Qs incl flames while his GF was outta town and he coulda been partying instead. So we all owe him a big thanks, especially for hooking some of us up w G. Secondly, everyone here conveniently forgot that 3-4 weeks ago, comparisons of the 710 were made w a vox9900 on hofo and the 99000 came out on top and all the problems w the 710 test back then were identical to ecko04s concerns especially re camera quality etc REMEMBER????????So go out and get yourselves a 7000.

Its two days till the 6th. People have their hopes up pretty high. Between here, wireless advisor, and Hofo; no one seems to know ANYTHING about this phone coming out on the 6th. You still thinking it will be out this day? Nobody else seems to be able to confirm any aspect of a launch on the 6th. If it doesnt come out, you going to be around the forums that day... it might be bad (but, like the rest of the threads, I am sure it will be entertaining!)

As much as I want to believe that the phone will be out Tuesday July 6th, 2004...the fact that it is not on info manager or the 99999 zip code, leads me to doubt the phone coming out the 6th...VZWsales or anyone else...what's you're opinion...I need the phone b4 the 18th...Peace all

there is so much conflicting information floating around here that I really don't think anything is trustworthy at this point.

People, if you post a definitive statement, please provide a source. Even if you can't name the source directly, be creative ("an employee at a certain wireless carrier's regional headquarters," etc.). If you can't provide a source, DON'T POST IT. If you can be even more definitive regarding your source, please let us know that. If you're refuting someone else's statement, same rules should apply.

In the last couple of days, we've heard everything from a tentative August release date at best to people supposedly confirming that the phone is in retail stores already and ready for release next week. It seems like...
