NOT JUST YET AND STILL SOME BUGS

Hello all,

I just went out for a smoke and I saw a "big shot" walking out of our VZW building in Laurel, MD. He looked like the guy that work in our IT dept. I approached him with my eyes bulging out starring at his V710 that was on his belt and I asked him the "JACKPOT QUESTION", "I SEE YOU HAVE THE V710, DO YOU BY ANY CHANCE KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE RELEASED?" and he actually looked at me and said: "I'm testing it out and it has some bugs" He went ahead and informed me that the screen keeps blacking out and locking on him. I asked if July 6th sounded like a good day and he said "I wouldn't bet on it" As I stared at the phone (not in my hands) he also mentioned that He likes the phone but is not quite satisfied.

I guess this phone wont ...

release date... possible bad news...

I was told by an assosciate of mine here @VZW who is testing the handset (which only has 15 second video, not 3 minute like the phone info on this website.. hopefully the "real" version will have the 3 minutes) and she is telling me that it probably will not roll until August. The phone is pretty sweet... but not sure if it is 1.2 megapix either... pictures do look great.

Moto V710

Ok, I know there is much excitement about the release of this phone. I am too excited for Verizon Wireless to release any good phones...period. However, there are some people in this forum that seem to be acting like vultures hovering in circles over newly thrown out scraps and that they haven't eaten in years or never before. Obviously VZW has issues with releasing phones in a timely manner or at all. The phone will be released when it's released. Don't start posting "release dates" only because then you start up all the people who never want to believe any release dates anyway. They question everything you say only because they didn't come up with the information themselves. In summary though, relax, the phone will get here when it g...

Are you all TEENAGERS?

Look. This phone is not coming out anytime soon. I am going to be laughing at you all on the 6th. It wont come out then, just like it didn't today. The Verizon people will know in advance, and will tell us, just like they have with the last 5 phones I've had. And what is with all the name calling. After the last thread I left, someone called me an Attention Whore, then really showed his ignorance by arguing a point I made about bluetooth. Just grow up and get a different phone in the meantime. You might even like something else even better than the Collosal V710.

Hey FireStryke, I was talking about you! Try having a CLUE before you contradict others.

again about iSync

I know I have asked this before but does ANYONE OWN A MAC? If you go to apple's isync web site it lists all the devices that currenty can sync with iSync. The Motorola phones that are listed are:
Motorola T720 (CDMA)
Motorola T720 (GSM)
Motorola v60i (CDMA)
Motorola v60i (GSM)
Motorola v60i (TDMA)
Motorola v66 (GSM)
Motorola v60t (TDMA)
Motorola v60t color (TDMA)
Motorola c350 (GSM)
Motorola c331g (GSM)
Motorola c331t (TDMA)
Motorola c333g (GSM)

Does anyone think or know whether the v710 will be added to this list? If it will be added to the list then I am sure it will iSync with the computer via bluetooth just like my PDA does.
thank you

Ecko04....

Out of all the camera phone you have had and the one's you presently have, which do you think ave the best screen and/or the best camera. To my knowledge and user opinions, the Samsung a610 has the best camera, but i dont know about the the LG 7000 or V710. So any input would help. Thanks.

October

My mom works for the government (No, I am not some pimply faced kid tossing disinformation...) Anyway, they all use verizon phones to communicate. They have a pretty big account with verizon. A rep contacts them about once a week or so to make sure all is well. Anyway, I thought just for the heck of it, i would see if she could find out anything on the v710. She copied me on the emails. She probably got about 8 responses from different people in "the chain". I couldn't believe the responses. One person asked if she was referring to the 7000, because that comes out on MONDAY?! Some people said October, some said August some said late July. Each response was signed by what sounded like important people, "business account executive", "...

No nonsense answer-From Ecko04

Listen Ecko, we have (present company included) been waiting on your word regarding the actual usability of the two phones you have been reviewing. So without doing with any additional fancies, if money wasnt an object, which phone would you recommend a person to get that would work bug free day in day out.
Thanks

Thats wierd... with so much hype surrrounding the v710 and all those features.. how did they manage to lose to the vx7000 in the camera category.. But is it that much of a difference?Which is better overall though?

Help me make a decision

Hello everyone!

I have been lurking for a while on the forums trying to learn some things, and I have to thank you for what I've learned.

I want to switch to a bluetooth enabled phone to work with my Palm Tungsten T and a Wireless Headset when my current Alltel contract expires.

I like the V600 and also the specs on the "soon to be released" V710. What I need to do is decide which way to go.

What are the pros and cons of GSM(V600) and CDMA(V10)?

And what are the relative good and bad points between AT&T/Cingular (V600) and Verizon (V710)

I'm really torn between the two, but aren't sure if one or the other will be a mistake for me.

Help? Thanks!!!

Crazy Thought -- Independence

Taking a look a Motorola's sites I noticed that they are always touting the V710 as the phone that brings you independence (I guess BT). Wouldn't it be smart to release the phone right near "Independence Day"?

Hoping for the 6th.

Uninformed CS Reps?

This is my first post here. I've posted on HOFO a few times.

I'm curious as to why so many CS Reps at Verizon are uninformed or at least seem uninformed by what I've read in the posts here. About two months ago I popped into the local Verizon store here in Celveland (Independence location) to ask about the V710. The rep new what I was talking about as soon as I asked and he said that they weren't sure when it would be there but they were expecting it very soon. I usually go to lunch over there so I'd drop in every week to ask and no matter what Rep I talked to they knew exactly what phone I was talking about and had the same basic response. Now I know that expecting it soon is very vague but they all seemed to at least know about it....

Magazine Ad

I'm sorry if I missed someone pointing this out before but I found an ad in the June issue of Men's Health on page 64.

http://www.circleofdeath.com/morr/PHONE.jpg »

Now, the thing I found interesting is the price is listed without the usual * and accompanying quote at the bottom of the page with "two year contract required" at the bottom of the page. The price for the phone is listed at $200 and there's nothing about a contract. Hell, if they set a higher price we may have grounds for a false advertising suit. 🙂

Treo 610?

Like many of you I have been reading this forum for months waiting for this phone, because I really want bluetooth (preferably not the half-assed vareity, but I'll take what I can get). The talk of the Treo 600 being released soon for Verizon got me looking around on the internet, and I found a bunch of sites talking about the Treo 610 for Verizon (w/bluetooth). Phonescoop doesn't seem have anything on it, I was just wondering if any of you have heard anything? Because I am going to be really pist if I waited all this time for the 710, only to have something better come out within a month of or two.
