Motorola V710

You know...there have been alot of posts regarding Verizon's lack of cool phones...but when I did a search of the the phones available right now for the big companies (i.e. Sprint, Verizon, ATT, US Cellular, etc.), Verizon's phones are just as good as the others, if not better.

Seems like every other company has a crapload of Nokia phones, which i hate because Nokia refuses to go to the flip phone (although i think i heard they have or are coming out with a flip)...but anyway, i think Verizon's phone selection is just as good as any other companies.

Anyone else agree or disagree??

I have no idea where do u guys get the info about release of v710??!!!!! i spoke to rep of the store on 86th street between 21st and Bay Pkwy in Brooklyn, NY and he said that the phone won't be out at least 3 weeks from now!!!! He didnt hear anything about any shipping in some boxes or anything about that! in fact, he is waiting for this phone as well and cant wait to get it! Can anyone prove him wrong and give some worth to hear facts about release date??!!!

I just came from a presentation by our Motorola rep. He states the phone will be out mid to late July. The phone is very nice beautiful screen. He also said it will be with a two year agreement the phone should be under $300. I can't wait first my 7000 now 710 coming soon woohoo!!!! 😁

Does anyone know if this phone (or any phone) that will allow you to record calls to MP3 format ?

Seems as if everyone wants to bust our chops here. I'm saying the phone won't be released on 7/6 like people are expecting and everyone wants to post their misinformation. I make one mistake here and post the Executive Director of Data Services phone number and everyone says "ecko you lost your credibility and you're trying to build your auction". Who knows you may really need that number one day so write it down, i'm not saying clal there for little problems but that's a way you can get to the top rather quickly.

Yea Yea Yea I know no one knows for sure but I was just looking for some speculation and reason. I lost a phone and I'm trying to hold out for the V710 but I don't know if I can wait too much longer...Life is hard w/a cell phone...but yea...back to my main point...WHEN IS IT COMING OUT?!!! Sorry this is off topic, but whats not in this forum these days. I don't care what it is that I would be doing, but I was wondering how do I get a job at VZW store? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've been reading this forum for a while but, this is the first time I've posted. I was looking around and wanted to see the pictures of the phone that were on the FCC website. When I went to that site, there are two different submissions from Motorola. The first was the original one in February and then second is a submission from yesterday (6/29/2004), I'm not sure if this is a good sign or not, but maybe somebody can shed some light on the issue.

I've been reading post here and on HoFo about the v710 and I have made some assumptions about the release date. So here they are.

1. Everyone is freaking out about motorola moving the contest back a couple of weeks. To me this means nothing if you think about it. There is no way that 710 people will buy and register the the phone in just 4 days (this is if the release is the 6th and the contest ended on the 10th). Don't get me wrong I believe that people will buy the v710 in bunches and alot will register but not 710. The reason for this is most of the people who can afford this phone and truly use it will most likely buy a bluetooth headset when they buy the phone. The V710 is not coming out on the 1st of July and certainly not on the 6th either. It MIGHT be out by fall. My VZW stores are well aware when phones are close to market release, and the V710 is just not going to be released anytime soon. So do what I did and get the Samsung A670 in the meantime. It is my first non Moto phone...I've had over a dozen...and it is one incredible piece of technology. Get this thing and you won't care when or if Moto is going to release the V710. REALLY...IT WILL CURB YOUR CRAVING...I PROMISE!!! It makes the v60 look big. Now when I see the Massive V71O in pics, I'm unimpressed. If you want bluetooth, get the Jabra headset that's available now. It is amazing as well. Oh yeah...I'm finding out that Moto...

MY Moto 720 screen just craped out but the phone still works. I was wondering should i get a lg 7000 or just wait in till the moto v710 comes out. What do you guys and ladies think? Just trying to anther point of view . Thx in advance 😁

This forum is far past what it is meant to do which is to give us consumers a place to discuss the V710. It has now become a barrage of negative comments and childish behavior that EVERYONE has been participating in. The only thing that can stop the downward spiral is this damn phone coming out. It's obvious that the Verizon stores around the country are all mixed up on the release date...no one knows when this phone is coming out...

Ecko... mind telling the story of what he did that was so horrible? The entire time I've been reading these forums, you've always seemed to be a pretty calm guy, but he really seemed to boil your blood.

What are the sync capabilities going to be with Bluetooth? Specifically...will 710 users (with Moto Phone Tools, or whatever) be able to sync contacts and calendar items via Bluetooth?

I recently went to the VZW store in Bridgewater, NJ and they told me that they are recieving a shipment of the phone this week. She also said that they may be doing a promotion/rebate with the wireless headset (Which, I am told, Verizon also plans to sell when the V710 comes out).

As far as the ad in the WSJ, being that it is purely a Moto ad and NOT a VZW ad, common sense states that Moto is doing that to up thier stock, (hense the location of the ad) and yes it shows the phone will be out soon, but when, only VZW knows.
It has been said, and you can do the search on HOFO, by an employee that training on the 710 is set for the 15th of July, so figure what that means..even though it apparent VZW cares little weather or not thier employees know anything about thier products!!
