Motorola V710

I received my v710 today and the phone is absolutely gorgeous. Bluetooth works excellently and even pairs to the headset automatically, Motorola HS810 duh! Digit dial, Name dial, camera, video capture, WAP 2.0 it all works excellently. Hit me up later guys if you want me to post some pix of the phone. I'm going to go out to the 4 Verizon stores I know of and show off, I also need to get a Motorola data cable so I can let you guys know about ringtones. I'm also going to get the bluetooth to PC Motorola kit and let you know if we can use BT to access National Access. I love it and as for the people who say the v710 is a mammoth, I think the a530 and a670 have spoiled us all because if you can deal with the vx6000 then the v710 is cake. It isn'...

i have the v80 and v600 (tmobile only by choice) they both have bluetooth and my laptop has built in bluetooth (dell 300m) i connect them all the time and you dont even need mobile phone tools. i browse my phones just like a regular folder on my computer. there are 3 folders audio video and pictures its simple (if u need help pairing the devices i can help u but im sure u know how) i also do have mobile phone tools and use that for phonebook and media and all that and it works with bluetooth very well. so i think the bluetooth will work for u 100%

This may sound stupid, but I'm really bored. It would be really ominous of Verizon Wirless to release the 7000 on the 25th and have the 710 come out July 7th or later because it would screw all those people who want to "try out" the 7000 but then trade it in for the 710. Yea, so be careful with that whole "Ok, ill try the 7000 and if I don't like it ill get the 710".

Youre getting the 7000 on tuesday right? I thought when I played w it, albeit for a few seconds last week, that it was big/brick/ugly. But that was my opine. When u get it and actually devote hours/days to check it out, it'll b interesting to see how the 2 compare.Im sure you'll start posting tuesday afternoon and by thursday, we'll all have your insight, which I personally will believe. Since theres only 2 phones coming soon (9900 is either scrapped or delayed,8000 is many moons away,6255 is also moons away) we really have only 2 choices and to pick the lesser of 2 evils.So your post will weigh heavily on many peoples decision and maybe as much as 50% of my decision so lets wait till tuesday. Okay, I, as i assume everyone on here is anticipating the V710. People giving us there idea of when the release date is going to be, and yes, as someone said before "telling these stories does keep these boards alive" but it's time to get down to bussiness, for all of us who want up to date information from all the reliable sources..keep this on the first page so we can get info from whoever, whenever it's available, whether it be from a rep, e-mail, tech show, store visit or just overheard.

Projected Release Date: July 6th

Reasoning: Well, from all the sources i've heard from VZWemployee, Ecko04 and combined them..they've all projected the first week of July..and most phones are released on a Tuesday..(i.e Samsung 670 etc.) i assumed...

does anyone know exactly how much testing is done by Motorola on a carrier's network before handing the phone to the carrier for their own testing? I've got to assume the phone's been vetted pretty heavily before handing over to Verizon (or anyone else)... thus making the carrier's stesting more of a long term tweaking session than anything else...

anybody know?

I've been using Pix messaging, and I suppose it is an update to know that the phone can accept bmp and jpeg images as well as midi through pix messaging. I haven't tried anything else but if I do i'll keep you all updated.

I was told yesterday by Verizon in Pittsburgh that the v710 'failed testing' by Verizon and the the next motorola to be introduced will be an '8 something', which has been scheduled for release.

We have been through this 100 times, Waiting for Moto to put out a great product.. They are going to fail again..

1st of all it's the size of the 7000 which I held last week.. It's very big. 2nd Moto's voice quality is less than good. I hear the Battery life is horrible, which would be expected from Moto..

Do you guys really think they are suddenly going to put out a winner.. The days of Moto building competing products with the Japs are over for now..

The A670 Samsung is rock solid and probably a much safer investment. Just look a the 530 success..

Does n e one know the price the v710 is gonna be? I know it has been posted but i'm sorta confused. I've heard anything from $199-$499? I know no one can be sure of anything cause it's up to Verizon, but why r people saying the 710's gonna be like $499? I get that it has so many features, but y would verizon charge so much, no one would be able to buy one except huge 710 fans or business people. I was planning to spend like $200 plus tax on one, but $299-$499 is just crazy. Any more info on the issue would be great. 🙂

just wanted to know what your thoughts were which phone you getting. I wanted the 7000 but with ecko and the info he has given us wow the 710 is a very nice phone I guess it is pick your poison hahaa debating what to do.

How is the flash when taking pictures or video?

The last email i got from motorola about changing the external screen the rep said yes you can and you can make it coordinated with the internal one.... theres a link on one of the hofo forums to the instruction booklet of the phone, just thought it might be some help
