I just got word from one of our technician's here at the call center in MD and he told me that Video Messaging will be launched on 06/26/04. I am scheduled to go through training on Video Messaging next week. The Lg-vx7000 will be released on 06/25/04. This is perfect timing for the Lg-vx7000 In addition, I asked him for the release date on the V710 and I told him to be honest with me and he said: "there is no info yet" ;-(

Is it possible to trade in a mint condition phone to get another one? I highly doubt it but it would be nice if that was possible.

what do we have to do to get that free headset??? the thing where the first 710 people who sign up get a free headset...i think i already signed up so im confused, what do we have to do

Is BlueTooth compatible with Infrared data transfer? The reason I ask is I own an Alienware Area 51 PC and on the front it has an infrared data window so you can scan items on it to transfer data. Does BlueTooth do anything like that? Or is it just radiowaves?

I keep hearing about the limited battery life, and am wondering about the chances that there will be a larger, extended-life battery option.

It seems like many of the phones that come out these days have that option. Some of the ones I've seen (and the one for my PDA) require a new battery cover.

Don't start with me about the extra size... I'm 6'4" and 230 pounds... I really don't need a dainty phone. I don't care about a bigger phone too much; I still use a Startac, and I still think of that as a very small phone.

I think they are talking total bull, but go there anyway and see what they've been saying and post what you think. (they replied to my topic about when it will be released)

I need anyone who may know to answer this question. They're claims that the Moto 710 is only available to business customers first like the Samsung 790 for overseas traveling reasons because of the GSM capabilities. My question is: Why would the 710 only be available to business customers first if it's only a tri-mode phone that can only be used here(USA)???

Im hearing all these comments about size and how its too big. From the pictures Ive seen, it doesnt look terribly big...but those are pictures.

I was curious, if anyone has handled one, does it compare to one of the nextel motorola phones? or the old black starTac? is this the size we are talking about, bigger or smaller? thanks

oh also, I dont think this was ever answered. does anyone know what color the keypad is (blue, green, white?)

Sometimes just reading the information that is osted on this forum makes my stomach turn. It is obvious that people here are posting information as fact when they have no idea what is going on. Let's take it from the top:

1) July 6 still seems to be the most accurate release date that I have heard. In fact, I heard earlier this week that the big guys at VZW have recently given Motorola the thumbs up for the release based upon their latest testing. Therefore, don't be surprised if this phone shows up earlier than July 6.

2) The phone will not be released first to business customers. Please, no more posts about this. It is simply not true.

3) The maximum length of any one video clip will be 15 seconds. One can take up...

I'm still confused on file transfers to PC. From what I've read here apparently VW is planning on limiting the BT so that you can't transfer pics and vids to your PC that way. Does anyone know if this is the case?

If so, will you be able to transfer these files using a USB data cable instead? Seems unlikely that the only way to get images and videos off your phone would be to send them from your phone, even though I'm sure VW wouldn't mind.

With the launch of the LG 7000, VZW is standardizing the software that the phones use to operate. No matter what new phone you buy whether it's Moto, LG, Samsung, etc...eventually all of them will operate exactly the same way...I work at VZW and think this is AWFUL. This is like the introduction of Windows all over again. I like this forum, and I'm curious what everyone else thinks. It's not going to happen suddenly, but over time with the introduction of every new model phone starting with the 7000!

Lets think about this, if vzw released this phone they would be leading not following. So unlike vzw to lead when it comes to technology. I can only hope this phone is released by July 6, but if I was a betting man I would say December 15 is a more realistic date. Just going by vzw history.

Video messaging is being launched with the introduction of the LG 7000 on June 25th. the length isn't important because most of the phomes have different storage capacities. The network itself will be able to transfer up to 350kb of data. The LG7000 for example has a 15sec storage capacity.

I just heard from one of my friends at verizon that the motorola v710 is going to be released to verizon business customers first before it gets to the typically consumer. thats bad news cuz whenever it gets released (who knows maybe 2005) it will take at least a month or two before the general market gets its.
