To be realeased atleast by July 10

I read the offer details on the Motorola site for the free bluetooth headset to the first 710 owners of the 710 and the offer itself "Offer expires July 10" so the July 8th date sounds good.

So now what?

OK, so since I'm screwed I'm going to buy this phone at it's full retail price... 😡

Someone wrote in a recent post that it would be less expensive to purchase the directly from Motorola rather than from Verizon?
How can I purchase it directly from Motorola? I tried checking hellomoto.com to see if someone could purchase the V600 from the site or something, ya know, just to check, and the only thing I could find was a link to "find a store" which brought up a bunch of AT&T locations... 😕

Sorry if this sounds like a retarded question, but how can I go about purchasing the V710 directly from Motorola when it's released? 🙄

Anyone?

Who else is in my situation?

Anyone else sorta screwed themselves like I did?

Anyone else planning on buying the phone at full retail price because their contract isn't near the end?

If so, what are your thoughts, suggestion, comment?

Features Question

Does anybody know if the 710 will have the "voice memo" and "to-do list" features like the 9900? They are not shown on the list of features here on PhoneScoop. Just curious if anyone knew for sure. Thanks..

Release date must be close!

If you remember when the LG VX6000 came out verizon decided to start Picture Messaging, now that the Samsung A670 is coming out and it has video messaging it will mean verizon will start doing Video Messaging, what does all of this mean, it means that an outbreak of picture phones came out when the LG VX6000 came out, wouldnt that also mean the outbreak will occur with the Samsung A670, so in conclusion to this whole thread the V710's release is near!

Spoke To Verizon Today

As usual, more conflicting information from Verizon:

1. I spoke with a customer service representative on the telephone today about an unrelated issue and I also inquired about handset release dates. She told me they are normally informed about the new phones about a month prior to release. She asked me what phone I was waiting for and I mentioned the 9900 and the 710. She pulled out her "list" and looked through it while I waited on the phone. She stated that there were no Audiovox or Motorola handsets on her sheet.

2. I called my local Verizon Corporate store a few minutes ago and asked about handset releases. She said they have been told to expect a Motorola with video messaging capability sometime this month or next month. She did...

if this phone is $499 dollars, would you still get it???

i personally would not, since id be paying for it myself and not my moms money...id even reconsider it if it was $399...that is alot of money damn

if it is that expensive i guess id go for verizons 2nd best phone, the audiovox 9900

who agrees?

I can definately see this phone going for $100

Verizon could sell it for 400 after rebates and everything and make some $ because the phone is in high demand... but that's only to people who care....

on the other hand, if they do what they did with the V600 and charge 2 bottle caps and a toenail clipper, then they would have even more people switch over like crazy so they can have everybody in the world who wants the best phone cheap for 2 years....

I guess we'll see...

Concrete pricing point on V710

Talked to my boy in Bayonne NJ and found out that the price will be $199 with 2 yr contract. Look for rebates to be added on top of that.

Expect release date is June 18th. Testing is almost over and the tweaks for the video messaging was the main glitch. Now seems to be resolved with latest firmware. Shipping to Verizon should begin on Monday next week if no unexpected hitches.

Omerta.

IF motorola was smart about pricing

If motorola was smart they would price at a reasonable level so they could sell more of the product instead of high price and low level of people buying this phone. Seems to me if you to destroy your competition you have to undercut just a little bit to gain in the long run....just my idea

SD slot = TransFlash slot?

I first saw that the v710 was going to have an SD-compatible slot, so I picked up a 256 on sale.

Then I see on PhoneScoop that it's a "Trans Flash" card. What the heck!

"Expandable memory with SD-compatible removable memory slot"

so which one is it? 😳

Bluetooth

Also i find it funny when everyones talking and asking if phones hav blutooth when theres only like 2 vehicals in the world that support it so far. And when it is more widely available this phone will be out dated so get a grip and stop jerkin your thumbs and get a real phone.

Price of the 710

Did anyone else notice today's "Best Buy" Sunday suppliment?

They are selling the V600, complete WITH a wireless headset for $100. There is a $100 rebate, but still, the phone and headset for under $200 is pretty impressive to me.

I wonder if this gives us a better idea of what we can expect for the 710.
