Motorola V710

Why cant i transfer videos in bluetooth. I can do everything except that.

Does anyone know the maximum file size for a ringtone? I transferred a song from my computer to the phone and set it as a ringtone, but I hear nothing when someone calls. The largest file I have that works is about a 45 second ringer.

transferring files from your phone via bt to your pc won't work?

what if i have a datalink? can i transfer files (mainly mp3, pictures, videos) to my pc?

as long as i can transfer files somehow... i'd get this phone.

"Error on line 6, position 18
A name was started with an invalid character"

I keep getting this error when I click on the "Pictures" folder of my phone. I am trying to get the pictures off of my phone to put them on my computer. I can get the songs up on my phone, but get the above message when trying to access the pictures folder. No pictures appear, but they are on my phone. I have the V551 and I am using mobile phone tools version 3.0. Does anyone know why I am getting this error? Thanks

I have the SKN6311 usb cable. When I plug it in to the computer, should it automatically install new hardware or do I need to do something. The first time I tried it said cannot install hardware at this time. I want it to transfer songs to the transflash card so i dont have to take it out and use the adapter each time. What is mpt because i was reading another forum trying to figure out how to transfer. I already have the bluetooth adapter(usb). But i cant get it to transfer.

Cingular dumping the V600, all that is going on with the V710, I've hear a number of complaints about the MPX220's lousy camera (hello V710) and other things.

When I had LG phones sure there were some things I didn't LIKE ... but everthing at least WORKED the way it was supposed to.

How it is that Moto is even still in the game?

I'm trying to delete the factory images but i keep getting an error.

"Device needs attention - Other CDMA phone on COM7

Other CDMA Phone on COM7: THe phone is not responding while manipulating the file system"

I've gone in device manager and changed the COM port numbers three times. (COM4, COM5, COM7)
I see the file system, but when i tried to retrieve the picture folder it show this error.
What am i doing wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Here’s the deal: I’m new to all this ring tone stuff (less than 24 hours). I downloaded the wav file of the phone ringing sound from the TV show “24.” The wav file is a ring ending with 1.5 seconds of silence.

Not knowing just what to do I figured I should just loop the file, so I did. Using Wavepad, I looped it several times, creating a 28 second wav file. Converted the new file into an MP3 file. I then changed the extension of the file to mid from mp3. Emailed it to my phone and was able to play it on my phone and use it as a ring tone.

PROBLEM is that the ring tone won’t stop playing. If you go into the settings and attempt to change the ring tone from one ring tone to the new “24” ring tone, it will play the entire 28 seconds e...

I emailed a midi ringtone to my v710. It will play in the media gallery. I click apply as ringtone and it appears as the call ringtone. when I try to call my cell it makes no noise but says "home calling". Any advice?

I am planning to buy a transflash card and HS810 together.

Is the transflash card shown there enough for me use it in my V710 to tranfer mp3s and ring tones??
Do I need any extra adapters for this? I do not have any SD readers in my laptop.
Will the card from amazon work without any additions??

Hi all,

TF card worked great initially. THen I had trouble retrieving the files from it on the phone, so someone said, reformat the card. I reformatted the card on the computer as well as through the phone. I still cannot transfer videos back and forth.

A motorola folder was created on it the first time I inserted the card in the phone, and I backed up the data on my desktop. Once I reformatted the card, I copied the motorola folder. After its been in the phone, I cannot access that motorola folder through the computer anymore...

I have been careful to shut the phone off to remove or insert the memory card. I was told that that was the problem the first time...

Anyway, its not recognizing any of the 3g2 videos i am copying. Even ...

I use my v710 to access the internet through VZW's National Access. But I can't plug in the data cable AND the power cable at the same time, so my battery runs out too quick.
To get around this, I bought a USB Bluetooth dongle, figuring I'd connect to the PC via bluetooth, leaving room to plug the power cable in to the phone.
Well, the phone can find the PC, the PC can find the phone, and everybody's happy EXCEPT Verizon's VZAccess Manager software. I can see my phone sending info, but VZW's computers never respond. 😢

Is anyone actually using bluetooth to connect to National Access? If so, how did you do it??

ok i got my phone in, and started playin with the headset i got hts810. i noticed that it can alot of the time sound crackled or muffled, is this somethin to expect or is my headset screwed up. also i bought me a tranflash card and card reader. i thought you could use mp3's as ringers on this phone. if so i cant get it to work someone tell me how to work this thing. and last but not least how in the world do you delete those stupid pictures and songs that are already on the phone.

is it not possible to utilize the sd flash via tf card? it would seem so because in essence the card is basically a microfloppy. hmmmm

OK, now we have two firmware choices for the V710, either:

8700_1.02.SD - the custom version developed by SuperDave, or
8700_01.40.OR - the Verizon firmware which is being released by a few stores for testing.

The Verizon firmware stops transfers of ringtones (not pictures or video) from the TF card. The SuperDave firmware has some custom graphics.

Both versions appear to have the same Bluetooth and camera resolution fixes. The battery drain problem seems to be with both versions too.

Can anyone expand on why you would risk hosing the phone with custom software for the sake of custom ringtones and graphics? If you fry the phone with the SD version and can't recover, at least you can take it back to the store with fewer questi...

I switched over from verizon to Cingular two months ago. I couldnt make better choice. Got myself MPx220 Smartphone. AWSOME toy. Two weeks ago went to Europa. Phone worked EXCELLENT. Verizon can keep the pos V710.
GO TO VERIZON YOU WILL NOT REGRET!!!!!!!
