Motorola V710
Motorola unveils new CDMA handsets today.
Here we go. This looks like the answer we need, if we can trade in our defunct V710's. According to the article, Motorola expects it be to available in the first half of 2005.
You could see this phone today at CES in Las Vegas. It is exactly the same size as the v710, it is running different (better) software, and does have Bluetooth along with EVDO.

OK... slightly confused about PC Sync Via Bluetooth on the v710
I keep hearing about the limited Bluetooth functionality with this phone - but then I hear that people are syncing via Bluetooth to there PC. What are you/they syncing?
I am looking to Sync my Calandar and Contacts (Outlook 2003 conected to Exchange) with my PC. However I have over 1000 contacts on my PC and only want certain ones on the v710.
Is this a piper dream?

bluetooth headset ringer
How can I get my phone to ring out loud when I have the bluetooth headset connected? Now it will only chime in my earpiece.

I was just wondering what this new Software update everyone is trying to get really accomplishes. In what ways does it make the phone better. And most of all, does it fix the quality of the camera in any way?

Threatening to DO business with Verizon
So I really want to switch to Verizon becouse of their coverage in the NorthEast - they have the best coverage by far.
But i want Bluetooth and I want a good phone.
They just DONT HAVE THIS. All I hear is bad things about this phone and I am really repulsed by the Motorolla Interface.

earpiece sound quality
How is everyone's earpiece sound quality on their v710? Mine is ok, but the sound seems to degrade when the volume is turned past 2 or 3. Seems like it doesn't give the full audio range a normal earpiece speaker would give. If a person raises their voice a bit - upon normal inflection - it sounds a bit broken up. Almost like the speaker cannot handle the audio.
Sorry if this makes no sense, but i can't think of a better way to describe it right now.

If its suppose to come out the first half of 2005, is this the reason why verizon wont fix our v710's??? They say its an update of the v710, so who knows.

aftermarket antennae?
Anyone know if there are aftermarket antennaes made for the v710? I don't even have mine yet, but I hate CDMA antennaes - especially the one with the silver top as on the v710.

Nov. 14th software update
I was just on the phone with a verizon rep and he said that he heard that a software update would be administered on nov 14th to fix the poor quality of the camera. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

is it just me or does your pics and vids look bad indoor after you SAVE them??
In the evening with light inside any typical room. I take a pic or record a video.. when i capture it.. it looks ok.. but then when i store it and lookat it.. IT LOOKS EXTREMELYYYYYYYY DARK. wtf.. why does it do that? it makes no sense. But the worst part is that I dont know if the Flash did that or if my phone was like that since the start. AHHHHHHHHHHH

Removing Service Provider banner
I have a v710 and I was wondering if there is a way of removing the Verizon Wireless banner from the screen without having a tec flash it with the wrong prl or using a usb port. Thank you in advance. 😁

Can you copy your phonebook onto the TF card?
WOWSA! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one EXTREMELY disappointed with Verizon and the 710 BlueTooth limitations. Unbelievably EVERY Verizon rep pleads ignorance to the subject.
On to my question - I just purchased the Trans Flash card and am wondering if you can save your phonebook to it? If so, how?
Under Phonebook Menu, "Copy Entries" is an option but I can't figure out what that means or how it works. Can't locate anything in the manual, or Verizon or Motorola websites. Help!!!

XFR OF PHONE BOOK VIA TRANSFLASH?
I HAVE MY PHONE BOOK TYPED UP IN MICROSOFT WORD. DOES ANY ONE KNOW HOW I CAN GET INTO MY NEW V710 VIA THE TRANSFLASH MEMORY CARD WHICH I HAVE. I TRIED AND IT SAID IT DID NOT RECONIZE THE FILE FORMAT. IS THERE ANY WAY TO DO THE TRANSFER IN SOME OTHER FORMAT? THANKS IF ANYONE CAN HELP.

really bad picture quality
Just got my V710 today and am really bummed by how bad the camera image quality is. Not that I'm expecting much from a camera phone, (I have several decent digital cameras) but this is worthless. I think there may be something wrong. Ordered on-line from Verizon since our local store is pretty worthless too... Anyway, compared to my boyfriends lesser Motorola (Cingular) camera phone, the 710 is SUPER grainy and dark. Not even close to comparable. Really think something is wrong with phone. Any thoughts?
