Motorola V710
Ericsson HCB-30 car kit
Hello everyone,
I have the V710 and I purchased the Ericsson HCB-30 carkit. I have sucessfully pair the two together but I am having a problem. When I hit the "Call" button on the ericsson control panel "60)XXXXX" is displayed on the small screen of the V710 and thats it, no "Say a command" over the ericsson speaker. The XXXXX will be whoever I last dialed (so the 60th position). If I hit the volume up button on the phone it will scroll through my recent calls. I never get the voice option to dial out. This was working and then stopped. If I physically press the "Voice Dial" button on the V710 I will get the "Say a command" over the speaker. The ericsson works fine answering a call. Verizon Location Based Services
I'm not sure how many of you are aware that the V710 has a built-in GPS receiver. This receiver and the gpsOne service Verizon is bringing online will make the V710 a very useful product. I recently participated in a Verizon trial evaluating several location based applications using the V710 as a terminal for receiving driving directions and tracking another location-aware cell phone. Very interesting stuff!
In the trial, I was able to use two driving directions applications, Telenav from Televigation, and AtlasBook from Networks in Motion, and a cell phone tracking application, Cearch from NorBelle. The Telenav application is already available for Nextel phones for about $10/mon.
While Verizon didn't say when they would make these...

Which you do you guys suggest for my new v710?

Jabra BT800
Anyone know if the new Jabra BT800 is compatible with the V710 recently introduced at the CES 2005? I would assume it is since it supports bluetooth version 1.2 Sounds real nice with the call vibrate alert, different ringtones and noise canceling technology.

Do I have a "fixed" v710?
I'm trying to figure out if my phone is the post-recall version. I bought it from telesales last week, so who knows if they kept old stock around. The box has three stickers on one end in a triangle - overlapping each other. From bottom to top: blue, orange, red.
Anyone know they have a new version - possibly confirm which stickers mean what?

Timeport Ring Style 5 on V710?
I was wondering whether anyone has programmed or can program one of the old ring styles from the Motorola Timeport P8767 (silver startac) series. I loved that phone and still have it just in case my new one breaks or something. However, I am not a fan of the ringstyles available on the v710 and I don't really want a song etc. I liked ring style 5 on the timeport. I was wondering if anyone was able to get it onto their 710 or has a suggestion as to how to do that. Thanks

haha everybody get ready. Motorola says according to infosyncworld.com that the E815 will be out MAY
hahaha what a joke.. thats exactly the month the V710 was supposed to be out. HAHAH.. but got delayed and DELAYED AND DELAYED until august.. but even that was messed up so teh recall was in NOVEMBER hahaha.. also that article states that motorola knows of the mistake of v710 and therefore this e815 is the super fixed overhauled version of the v710.. does that mean our v710's can be traded in or SOMETHING LIKE THAT for this new one? maybe pay a little difference. I think that would be amazingly fair.. but knowing Motorola and Verizon.. that wont happen.. oh well still 5+months away from this phone.

I was the original purchasers of the v710 when it first came out, recently I lost my phone and had to get it replaced. When I did I noticed alot of differences in the software.
I would like my file transfer ability back from my sd card and I heard there is such a flash update out there for it, can anyone point me in the right direction??

Which case makes the v710 less bulky w/ the clip?; The leather Verizon Case or the Body Glove case??
I have the Verizon leather case but want to give the Body Glove a try. Which makes the phone LESS bulkier INCLUDING the belt swivel clip on.

I propose class action litigation against Verizon Wireless for false advertising and failure to deliver product as advertised with respect to the incomplete implementation of the Bluetooth specification.
The V710 is advertised and packaged as having "Bluetooth," but wireless communication without OBEX is not the full Bluetooth protocol specification.

I just bought a V710 and took a VZW plan 5 days back. So far I was enjoying it.
But I never knew about the limited Bluetooth!!! (very bad..). I am even thinking about returning this phone and droping the VZW contract.. I dont know!!!!!
Mean while, can you guys suggest a good Bluetooth headset I should be buying!!

transflash from Mac OS10.2
I am trying to transfer pictures and mp3 files from my Mac to my phone. The pictures transfer to the picture file in the shared folder but when I change storage devices, my phone freezes. Any tips on Mac to v710 transfers?

Wanting to switch to VZN
im about to switch to VZN from Sprint. im really interested in this phone. not really for the camera or anything but the headset and the signal strenght. opinions are needed. what seems to be the problem if any that people are having with the signal strength, and also any problems with your phone freezing or anything going on with the headset not working so well. now the headset i think i will get for this phone is the hs810, anyone having problems with it?

Just got the v710 and so far its been great, but I'm having one problem. Everytime I watch a video using the Motorola Stereo Headset, the phone keeps switching out of the video program and just goes to the home screen or goes into the voice recorder.
So far, its only happening when I'm in the video player, it hasn't done this when listening the mp3s.
Any suggestions, ideas...would be greatly appreciated. I've returned one phone due to this problem. The Verizon tech guy said it was a short in the jack on the phone. The second phone does the same thing. I've also tried it with the stereo headset adapter I purchased off of eBay...same problem.

Bluetooth working?
My cousin has a v710, he also has an PDA, I'm not sure what kind but it also has Bluetooth. My cousin was able to connect his PDA to the net through his v710.
From everything I know about VZW crippling the Bluetooth features on the v710, this should not be possible, but he did it right infront of me.
I know none of you or most of you will not believe me, I really wish there was a way I could prove this to you. If I do find some way, I will.

Darn. I am noticing my battery is lasting less and less ever since Flash. NOOOOO
How much are the OEM batteries on Ebay. I dont want those extended batteries cause then it wont fit in the case.. This sux cause my phone was fully charged when i did the flash. i guess thats what i get for using a bootleg usb cable. But how much are the OEM batteries?
