Motorola V710

DOES NEONE KNOW WHEN THE V710 IS COMING OUT FOR US CELLULAR...I HEARD THAT IT SHOULD BE ANY MOMENT NOW. THANX., AND DOESN NEONE KNOW IF US CELLULAR IS TESTING NE NEW PHONES?

I am having trouble deciding what phone to purchase. I have read several reviews on both of the phones but needed more feedback. honest opinions please. 😁

How do i get the mp3 songs to play continuously ? when i play a song it only plays one song and them stop. help...

I plan on purchasing the motorola v710 soon. Can someone plase post me what the latest firmware, SW and other specifics on the v710 so that the one i go home with is up to date. What ways can i tell to make sure i am purchasing the "fixed" v710 and not the original one that consist' of problems.

if u do need to claim ur phone and happen to lose or damage ur expensive blue tooth headset, they should cover it..my friend just dropped his in the water with his headset and he was able to claim his headset as well.....

I need help on how iSync works with the v710, and as we all know, if you even whisper "third party product" at apple support you get the generated response. I am trying to easily setup and update my phones contacts. I realize that you can't transfer the categories in Addressbook all at once.... but what I thought would happen was to sync one category at a time and create categories on the phone thereafter. No, it appears that my iSync (all latest updates) is not merging data beyond the initial reset of the phone. If I sync a category and then put all entries into one in the phone, hoping that the next sync will put the new numbers alongside the old ones, it will just wipe that work and put just the new #'s. I thought this whole merging ...

I have read all these posts, and I wonder. Aren't you guys mad, at least a bit? I mean, you have such a "great" phone, but that phone also has had so many problems. Do you really feel like it was worth all the trouble? Don't you think Verizon should had released the phone in better conditions? if I owned a V710 I would've been fed up with all its issues, and gotten something else, maybe somewhere else. I'm not trying to bash this phone. I even considered at one point to purchase it too, but after I heard the bluetooth issue, I changed my mind. I keep checking here every once in a while to see if VZW gets it together, but honestly, I really doubt it.

I downloaded a few pictures from my albums at vzwpics.com, but when looking at them as my "wallpaper" they looked quite fuzzy and difficult to make out when I used the "Fit To Screen" option. I just think most pictures look kinda dumb when they don't fill the entire screen. Are there certain size pictures that you need to download to the phone so that they look ok in the "Fit To Screen" option, or is it just the phone and they will always look that way? If someone could please let me know it would be much appreciated. Thanks much. Later

This external display is very cool and I am one who likes to be able to see the time on the outside of my phone, instead of hving to open it every so often just to see the time. I've looked all over, but maybe not well enough. Is there any way to keep the external display light lit all the time or not? Please let me know. Thanks much. Later

Just curious if anyone has used the higher resolution 1280 x 960 for their camera, and what the pluses and drawbacks were. I know that sometimes when you add higher resolution to your PC it messes up your screen. Anything like this for the phone? Thanks. Later

Would it be possible to use the a840 firmware on the v710? The hardware(except for the transreceiver) is pretty much identical. the processor, memory, etc.
I have also heard the existance of a java v710 firmware(there used to be a similiar rumor for the t720 that ended up being true).

I've tried to put mp3 on my transflash from my laptop but when I put the tf card back in my phone they don't show up. Does Media Player 10 have the convertor built in or do I need to download a convertor.

Does anyone know what bluetooth version the v710 is, 1.1 or 1.2

I can confirm that MPT live update automatically updated my software version to 3.11h. The software looks identical, it doesn't appear to add any extra functionality. When attempting to add a new phone via bluetooth it gives me the following error: error installing com port. While attempting to intstall my device manager opens and I can see it attempt to add a bluetooth modem then the MPT error comes up. Any ideas? I am using Windows XP Professional SP2 with a Linksys BT100 bluetooth adapter. Also when choosing my phone type when asked by MPT it lists 2 phones, V710 and V710m. Does anyone know what the V710m is????

Been lurking here for a few months, reading up on the 710. Got mine a few days ago, the phone has been oustanding in all regards, except for the fuzzy, grainy, over-gained camera.

I know it is a phone first and a camera, like, 5th, but it burns me that every other cam looks so much better at half the price.

Can Moto fix it with new software? Has anyone heard anything about this?

It seems to me that the cam just wasn't programmed to use any sort of shutter speed, that it does one physical exposure (exposing the CCD to light, well, really reading the CCD for a certain amount of time) and you can either darken it or brighten it with some nasty looking gain.

So why would they hype the megapixel camera so much and...

Just got off the phone with Verizon Tech support (611). They knew about the problems with the phone and I asked them about the new firmware. They told me to go to my local verizon store and get it done - should take about 10 mins. Verified the the tech guy that the new firmware was 8700_01.38.52. They said that the firmware is out to the public. I also asked him about OTA programming and he said that they couldn't do it yet. I'm on my way to Verizon right now and see what happens, I will keep you all informed as soon as I get back

I have tried all night to get Mobile Phone Tools working on my PC, and I keep getting the following error, then setup terminates:

Error number: 0x80040707
Description: DLL function call crashed: PbkInstall._GetBookNames

Can someone help me out with what the problem is? I've tried rebooting several times and can't get anything to work.

I found on some sites that they sell some faceplates for the motorola v710. I was wondering if anyone new how to take the original one off... thanks
