Motorola V710

I figured out how to use mp3's as a ring tone with our new v710.

What I did was git that extra memory transflash card, slid it into my computer and transfered a few mp3's. I had to delete most because of space, but anyway after I did that. I took one of them and moved it to the phone section and going to sound, I played it and wow it worked. The next step I clicked on menu and chose use as ring tone. IT WORKED....double WOW.

I did find though a full mp3 leavess little room for another one. So I downloaded on the computer a freeware program called Wavepad that edits music and so I was able to take parts of the songs to make them shorter....after all for a ring tone a full mp3 will not play completely when the phone ring...

I am wearing the Jabra BT 200 with my V710. My buddy calls and his special ring comes from the V710 loud and clear. We hang up and he calls back 15 minutes later. Meanwhile, I have taken the Jabra off my ear and laid it on the coffee table. There is no ring, no beep, nothing. He leaves 2 messages and I have no idea that anybody has called. What causes the inconsistent ring/no ring and voicemail signal/no signal?

I've tried looking through the forum but can't seem to find anyone asking this.....

Since it doesn't seem you can change the ringer that comes through my BT Jabra 250, can you at least change the volume?

I like to enjoy my music in the car, but the ringer is soooo quiet I miss some of my calls. I've tried turning up ringer volume on the phone, but that doesn't change it. The headset volume doesn't seem to help much either.

Any suggestions?

The pictures I took using the camera in the store were crap, however has anybody uploaded them to a computer? I have had phone before where the pics looked bad on the phone display but looked great on the computer.

This release is about a series of short videos shot an compiled with v710 camera phones. I have personally seen this, and almost forgot about it, until my copy of FierceWireless talked about a press release, and linked me to the page above. Nothing spectacular, but interesting none the less.

Does anyone know if the stem (the part you screw into the phone) of the antenna on the Motorola V710 is the same as any previous Motorola phone? 😕

I seems like I can find stubby antennas for every Motorola but the V710. 😡

I would really like to get a stubby antenna for my V710, but I can't seem to find one, except for the guy making custom ones on HoFo... 🙄

I was just wondering...I know that you can put your phone numbers in Categories...is there any way to change the ringtones of those categories? Can you have a specific ring, and then when someone calls from say the "business" category, can it be a different ringtone?

I have av710 and I also use a PDA that I primarily use for tracking my expenses (Ultrasoft Money to sync with MS Money). I want to get rid of the PDA. Is there a way or some sort of program that can be installed on the v710 somehow/someway that will do this? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I was just curious for those who have hacked the v710.

after calling motorola and connecting to all parts of the world, i finally reach someone in the u.s.i told him about my complaints about the phone bluetooth etc.the end result he sent me a tf card,battery,and leather case at no charge.

got the phone today, its amazing...still trying to track down a 128mb transflash card....anyone been successful?? If so, where did u find one? 🙂

If anyone has this I would like ot try it out. I'm a registered user of version 2.2 but can't get 2.2 to connect to my V710 properly. I can get Susteen datapilot to work great with the cable I have but not mobile phone tools.... ☹️

Well.... I just bought this phone yesterday and am seriously thinking of letting Verizon have it back. But, I am going to give it a little more of a chance. I am coming from a Samsung i300 from Sprint and so far I miss the PDA features and customer support that Sprint offers. If nothing else, I might trade this one for a Palm Treo 600, but I would rather have a clam shell profile and I really don't need all the functionality of a true smartphone. BUT, I really need these features:

Check e-mail - Done (w/SodaPopMail)
Sync Calendar w/ Outlook - ?
Sync Phonebook w/ Outlook - ?

I was just wondering if there are two models of the Motorola HF800 Bluetooth speaker becuase while searching the web i came across two models one with a chrome multifunction button and one with a translucent blue multifunction button. Here are the links:
