DO NOT hard reset your phone to get photo contacts!!!!

It is no required to get yoru photo contacts to work and is destructive to the data on yoru phone. You WILL lose all of your contacts, pictures, sounds and any other data you have placed on the phone. The answer is to change your external display to style 2.

This setting can be found on the last page of setting in the phone settings selection. This in my opinion is benificial in two parts as it loses the cingular banner and changes it to just date and time and after that you photo contacts will work!

Possible Mega Question: Using Palm OS information beam to the MPX220

Let me explain the issue: Before buying the Moto MPX220, I owned a Samsung I300. I am able to beam my contacts, individually, to my MPX220 without any problem (I can also use Photo ID without problem). Here is the issue and question: The other evening, I beamed, from my I300, the game "Frogger" to my MPX220. Naturally, the MPX converted and put it in my file manager. File manager put it into my storage; storage put into "My Documents." My Document has it shown as a "white" piece of paper with a "windows" symbol on it. My question is can I use this download from a Palm based OS? If I can use it, how do I open and use it? If I cannot, how do I delete it from my phone...Help!!! 😡

Customize External Display

Does anyone know how to further customize the outside display? I know how to change the background image but it still looks a little weak to me. Is there a way to change font styles/colors and indicator locations? I have found many skins for internal display but nothing for the external display. thanx

Had to start a new thread about MPx220 Cases

I ordered a case from the factorydirectcellular.com website. However, I did not order the one that Cingular offers (looked kind of thin and cheaply made).

I ordered a Cyber Sport brand case (a little more expensive, but likely worth the $).

For anyone that wanted a Body Glove case, this cyber sport looks much like the body glove brand.

Phone Camera ?

Hola,
I'm not sure if this has already been posted, but I looked through a few pages and didn't see it. I was wondering, does anyone else have an issue with the camera? On my Mpx220 it's really spastic...like most of the time it works, but then randomly it decides to make the picture a bunch of lines. This happened on the first Mpx220 I got. I returned that for a new one and it's happening again..... ☹️ Anyone know what's wrong or had similar problems? Thanks.

Alarms on the MPX220

I own the old MPX200 and one of the things I hate is that the alarms for missed calls, voicemails, reminders, etc, only beep once. There is no setting that will let you repeat the alarm every minute or so until acknowledgement. If you don't hear it the first time your SOL. I'm wondering if any of you that have the new MPX 220 can confirm that this has been corrected?

Orange or Black

I'm sure this has been posted but I went through numerous pages but could never get a straight answer on the two.

I work for cingular and recently purchased the mpx220 (black circle 1.30 firmware). Is the ORANGE sticker 1.30 firmware BETTER??

Could someone please assist me on this one, if orange is better then I'll snag that one.

Thanks!

stragne noises when recharging

when I was recharging my phone last night, it made a series of loud vibrating sounds at random a couple of times. The power was off on the phone but it sounded like it set itself to vibrate 3 times twice during the night anyway. Has anyone had a similar problem? Does this indicate anything (power surge? battery problem? gremlins?)? It's sort of unsettling to be awoken by a loud vibrating phone when it is powered off.

thanks

Problem:Photo ID Contact Attachement! I HAVE THE ANSWER DIRECT FROM MOTOROLA AND IT REALLY WORKS!!!

🙂 Finally, I got infomation that everyone has been wanting. I can tell you how to attach your Photos to your contacts. I got this information directly from Motorola and it actually works!! Follow these directions: 1. Turn off the phone. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Wait about 10 seconds. 4. Plug the battery back into the phone. 5. Press and hold (at the same time) for a few seconds the on/off key and the action key (the blue one). 6. A confirmation message will appear. 7. When it does, press yes (use the left arrow to press yes). 8. Wait until the phone finishes the process (I wait about 5 min. before pressing the ON button to power back up. I did this because the phone does not tell you when the process is done.). Also, one final comment, Pho...

How do you attach photos to contacts on the MPX220?? Help??

I am having a major problem with attaching my photos to my contacts. I went to my photo album, selected a picture, and attached it to a contact. Still, when a contact calls, I only see their phone number, name, and a generic blue human icon (on the internal and external screen). Please someone help me with this problem... 😢

the definative differences btw .342 & 1.3 don settle for .342 no matter WHAT!!!

👿
Now here is the bad new for all you .342 owners as I had 1.3 version that developed a speaker problem and got an excahnge and low and behold it was the dreaded .342 version.

Trust me if you have the .342 but never had the 1.3 rom you might miss the subtle bugs in the .342

1. Camera only works decent in night mode every other mode gives you green pixaleted dots on you pictures, not so with 1.3 rom pics are still abit dark for my taste but resoultion is top notch in all modes, sunlight, flourecent etc. even in automatic.

2.BIG BUG-yuck when someone leaves you a voicemail you get the text message icon (enevelope) instead of the voicemail icon (casste tape) and not only that but even after the voicemail is checked and erased th...

MP3 Ringtones, Some Play, Some Do Not

I have some MP3 ringtones that worked on my V551 that now do not work on my MPx220. And I have some that do. I created all these ringtones myself using the exact same program to create them (from a text to speech website). Anyone have any ideas?

Note: Do not try using the 'Check Spelling' option on this web site right now, everything is spelled wrong. Ha.

VoiceMail

☹️ We just purchased two MPX220 phones directly from singular and change or service from AT&T to Cingular (magically changed hands). When a call is missed it is entered into the call history but there is no voice mail indication. If I power cycle the phone then the contacts softkey changes to voice-mail. This seems like a Cingular service issue. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a setting in the phone to activate this indicator without power cycling the phone?

Video question (and adapter)

I asked a month+ ago if i should buy the mpx220, and i did, and i am very pleased with it. i just have two questions.

Number one.
I put videos into the storage/my documents/videos folder and they dont show up in the phone anywhere. The formats were like normal formats u would get on a computer like .wmv or .mpeg, but i changed one of them to .3gp (which i guess is a format for this phone..?) and it showed up, but the file wouldnt play.

Number two.
Before purchasing, i remember reading some ones post about an adapter so that you could use regular head phones with the mpx220 head set port thing. i went to radioshack, cingular, circuit city, a local phone acceseries place - no one has it? is there some other place i havent checked out ...
