Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

My 815 works perfectly until I put it on speaker phone. It gives a terrible echo to the person on the other end and makes conversations almost impossible. Verizon says it is not fixableand to wait for the upgrade of the 815 in the future. Any ideas on how to fix this echo problem now?

I have three questions.

First, I have heard people mention that when speaking on their e815 to someone else that has the e815, it is very echoey (SP?) and hard to hear the conversation. Any input on that?

Second, the echo. Some say it is horrible , some say not a big deal. Can I have input from people that own this phone?

Last, but not least, my sister bought an e815. When she is at home, the signal stays on EV, but when she is at my home, the signal switches back and forth from 1x to EV. Will this be a problem for me with signal strength and/or battery life?

Before I return this phone to Verizon because it's E-mail implementation sucks (no iTAP!!), does anyone know how to save your AOL password in the Mobile Web? On the screen name/password screen, there is a "checkbox" with the word "SAVE" next to it under the password field, but you can't pick it and SAVE does nothing. My authentication caching is set to yes...but I must be missing something.

I am in the market for a new phone and I need some help.

Should I go ahead and get an 815 (which I do like) or wait for some new hot phone that might be coming down the pipeline that I don't know about?

What are the new phones on the horizon? I've seen some pics and information about the Samsung SCH-A970, which looks very cool. I have also heard some rumors about a CDMA RAZR for Verizon. Can any of this be true?

Man, this is my 2nd e815 for various reasons including a clock that was off with the first phone. Now, this phone's clock is frequently off by 4 hours. Many times I noticed it being 4 hours ahead, and I am also having problems with my alarms not going off???

I called VZW and they had not answer except "stop by a store so a tech can look at it".

I like this phone over the vx8100 but there are several issues that are still frustrating!!

I am connecting to MPT with USB cable

Everything works fine except

When I try to transfer an mp3 file to my phone it claims to be transferring then after about a minuter or so I get an error message that the phone has severed the connection to the PC.

Anyone have this problem that has found a solution?

About a week and a half ago I finally got off my butt and set up my phone to do DUN. It worked great and I got pretty good speeds too. sometimes it would work intermittently, though. trying to connect would come up with with an error after trying to verify username and password. for user names I've used qnc, vzw3g.com, and my [email protected]. All have worked to get me connected at one time or another. Now nothing seems to work. In about 20 attempts I might be able to connect once. Last night I couldn't get on at all.

Is anyone out there getting reliable operation out of the E815 DUN? I have DUN enabled, so I know that's not the problem.

Does anyone know if the Jabra BT800 bt headset will work with the E815?

If so, how does it compare to other popular headsets (e.g. Motorola H500, Plantronics voyager 510, Jabra bt250V, Sony hbh-662)?

I have uploaded a wrong type of skin on my E815 (Provided by Verizon). The skin I'm talking about is "CStrike_v1[1].0PR" that i have found on MoMo. I've used PST_6.7 and pFlex-ed it to my phone. It went without a problem until I've accessed it. The phone's display is black and the only things that show are the signal strength and battery. The phone if "fully-functional" with the except that i can't see anything. All features (mp3 playback, camera...) seem to work well.
I've tried to rewrite the skin. I've renamed some skins that I've tested and work to "CStrike_v1[1].0PR" skin and than I've Flex-ed them. There was no result. I've also tried to unload the skin using "dCStrike.hs" but that didn't work either. Also I've used the OP-codes "18*0...

Today is the first day that I have really pushed this phone by listening to MP3's continuously. It plays only about 3 songs about 4-5 minutes each on a fully-charged standard battery before it starts displaying the "low battery message" and the battery indicator is red. If I power off the phone and turn it back on then it shows green on the battery indicator and the battery level display shows 6.

I'm assuming the extended battery fits under the cover and doesn't increase the thickness of the phone (is that correct)?

Just wondering if you would be able to use a BlueTooth external keyboard with the E815 or does it lack the software (drivers) recognize it?

The button on the rear of my Verizon leather case that fits into the clip has loosened up and now rotates. This means that the clip no longer has the designed ratchet action. In addition, the button is not fitting securely into the clip any longer.

I had the same problem with my Samsung A-530 case and I am wondering what might cause this. Any ideas?

Hey guys I finally got my Trans card and the MP3 trick works where I send it as a TXT then save it as a ring tone .. I have used Walmart for there cut mp3 songs but alot of time they dont have the part of the song I want. Is there a free editor that will allow me to cut and save MP3's .. I know there has to be a few but I just havent found any

Hey someone please help me out here!!!!! Ive finally got a TF for the E815.....the TF is 512 and it works....i can put mp3 on it and ****.....BUT HOW CAN I MAKE THE MP3'S INTO RING TONES??? I EVEN MADE THEM INTO MIDI TOO...AND I CANT MAKE THEM INTO RINGTONES........SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

hello there. I currently just bought a usb cord with a motorola installation cd. Both are installed and everything is connected. The cd has a program called Multimedia Studio where u can take music from your PC, edit it, to less than 30 sec and transfer it to your phone.(motorola e815) I've tried making the file an mp3 and wav but when i click to transfer it, i cant because a sign says Unsupported Format, Cannot transfer. I've also tried the walmart trick and the email comes through but i dont hear anything. Please help me out here. Thank you verrry much.

Hey folks, I tried the Walmart trick to save the mp3 clips from walmart.com and then e-mailed them to my phone using my e-mail client. They will come through, except for some reason it lists them as QCP files instead of MP3 files. I am not able to use these QCP files as ring-tones, only to keep in the Sounds folder of the phone. I also tried sending regular mp3 files from my computer of music converted to mp3 and these also show up as QCP. I do have one file that shows up as MP3 and I AM able to use that as a ring-tone file. Does anyone know how to use the Walmart clips as ring-tones on the phone? Also, I am never able to get music clips via vzwpix.com onto my phone, which is why I resort to sending the files as attachments through AO...

I was having trouble getting the phone to recognize the mp3's. They would show up on the computer but not the phone. I took the advice posted in another thread about renaming them and now it works.

My question is how do you guys list songs that have long titles?

I know it has been mentioned on here, as well as the specs page on this site which says it can accomodate up to 256 MB TransFlash. Before I order a 512 TF card I want to make sure it will definitley work in the phone. Can anyone confirm or deny that it works? Also, I wanted to know if either of the 512 TF cards on the following site will work in the phone. One card is 512 MicroSD/Transflash and the other is 512 TransFlash card. The MicroSD/Transflash card is $11 cheaper than the TransFlash card

After a short 30 month trial at Cingular with a great phone (Rokr), but need I go down that road with the utter lack of management from the top down? I am back to Verizon (never actually left).

Just got yet another E815 last night and noticed when I got home that the 3 button and the voice command key are dead!!!

I've given up on the 815 completely DONE. Going to get the 8100 until I see what the CDMA razr looks like.
