Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Will the Standard E815 battery (1030mAH) work in a V710? If so will I have to buy the battery door of the E815 and put it on the V710 so it will fit? Trying to increase the battery life of the V710 without increasing the bulk.

I have a Bluetooth HS820 which connects fine to my v710. But I can not see the HS820 from my e815 phone. How do I get the HS820 to connect to the new phone?

how does the E815 compare with lg8100, not on paper, but with customers that actually experienced both phone, i was told that motorola software was not to good and 8100 still has bugs with software.

I received MPT and a BlueTooth adapter in the mail the other day and sat down to install it on my PC.

1st night - nothing is working properly, even when I load everything as directed in an earlier thread. Decided not to to obsess about it and give it a whirl the next night, hopefully starting early enough that I can call Moto Customer Support if I bogged down again. I deleted the program and restored the PC to the previous day's values. Oddly, the BlueTooth information did not disappear.

2nd night - Carefully followed instructions from the earlier thread, still nothing worked properly. Called Moto Customer Support and was immediately routed to a "Software Guy". I think he was in Japan as his accent was kinda hard to understand, ...

Okay so here is the deal. I got an E815 about a month ago and also picked up the HS850. One more note, I have a 2005 BMW 330 with Bluetooth. The E815 works perfect with the BMW! However when I use the HS850 it sounds okay if I hold the phone pretty close to my ear and don't cover the HS850. However as soon as I put the phone down on my desk or in my pocket or even turn it upside down in my hand it breaks up. I can hear but the audio is very choppy and people say they can't really hear me and I can't really hear them. Now logic told me the HS850 must be defective and not maintaining a good connection. So I went to the Verizon store and exchanged it. Guess what same problem, exactly. So back to another Verizon store and another exchange of a H...

I want to connect my phone to the PC, so that I can acess the Internet on my wireless Laptop, HelloMoto tech says I only need to download their software for $29.95 and the PC will recognize the phone, yet Verizon tells me I have to buy their USB cable and connect the phone to the PC by wire. Can this be done wireless using the bluetooth on the phone and my wireless laptop or do I need to purchase their cable as well, Thanks

If I have 30 names under "S" starting with Sam and ending with Sue, is there a faster way than scrolling through 30 "S" contacts to reach the "Sue" contact? With my samsung, I can type "S" then the cursor moves over and I can then type "U".

Does anyone have an update as to when the 512 MB will be available. I know some website will let you purchase it but does anyone know when they will start shipping?

My old LG 6000 had a feature that allowed you to have a different ring tone for "restricted" & "Unavailable" callers. Does anyone know how to set that up for the 815? I tried saving to the phone book an "unavailable" & "restricted" call from the call log to associate a ring to it, but the phone will not allow you to save non-numeric call entries.

Hi, I HAVE a data cable from Mobilesandpdas.com (ebay) The guy swears that the cable works--but the software link they provide does not contain the drivers for this phone. (their response is they've sold 100's --and all work! Their offering a refund--I don't want a refund--I want it to work!)

I run this setup and it runs/installs and appears ok--yet when I plug the phone in, the PC says new hardware found and looking for a driver. NOWHARE is the actual driver! Ok, I figured out I need PhoneTools to sync between the E815, and my PC. It looks as if I buy the kit for the V710 it will work.

Now my question is, you can buy it off of ebay for $10 + $10 shipping (cable and software). But the software is version 3.0, not 3.25. Can I still get a free upgrade to version 3.25?

Can I use a picture ID from a Transflash card? I assume I have to transfer it to the memory on the phone? Bascially, I want to sync my "future" 815 (I'm ordering it today) with my Mac via iSync. However, iSync doesn't transfer address book images to the 815....not sure why. So, I was going to load them up via a card. Can I do this?

I have avoided using it since I assume they charge you for it. What exactly is it? Also, I deleted the PixPlace contacts under contacts by accident, do I need it? Can I get re-create it?

I just got my phone and I haven't even turned it on, but I don't think I like it. It seems to big. I'm not so sure if it is made with a lot of quality. Don't look like it to me. I think I should try something else. What is your opinion of this phone? I am coming off a LG6000 and loved that phone. I only have 15 days to decide.

Just got the phone yesterday and I really like it. But I am wondering how email works.

On my old LG VX3100 (great phone, still runs like a champ after 2 years and battery still lasts like it was new!) I could send email from the phone from the same place I would send messages (SMS?) and it worked great. I think I could also receive email at my-phone#@vzw.net, or something like that. I tried sending emails from this phone, but it only lets me enter numbers into the message area. I also would like to receive email on the phone as I am a systems administrator and this let me receive messages from the systems on my network in case something goes down.

How do I / Can I send email from the phone?

Some phones, like the LG6100 and some sprint phones, you can make it so when somebody calls you it tells you who it is. like its a plain ringtone, and the recorded voice of a computer or w/e says like ''call from bob''. does the e815 have this option? if so how can we activate it.

I just noticed that when talking on the speakerphone with the flip open, simply closing the flip will not end the call. It seems you either have to push the end button or close the flip then push and hold the speaker button. Is there anyway to change the settings so that closing the flip will end the call?

anyone else experiencing this? 👿 do i have a bad phone? 😡

i heard that camera/video quality is way better on the lg vx8100. any thoughts?
