UPGRADE TEXT MSG TO PIX MSG - STILL NOT REC. PACKETS???

I called VZW and made sure my text msg allowed pics and I still can't get packets when I send mp3/pics to my phone. It says that the file is attached, but when I select save, it only give me the option to save as quick text or the entire message. Any suggestions???

Why Can't I Copy Sounds From the Flash Card to the Phone's Memory?

I just upgraded from the v710 to the e815 and i am very happy especially with the difference in the screen quality, however there is one major difference that has me pretty ticked off. On the v710 i had the ability to take a sound file from my computer i made and add it to the trans flash card i had in my memory reader and from there place it in my phone and copy the sound file from my card to the phone's memory. With this i could apply the sound file as a ring tone or an alert. (example i had "I got mail, Yaaa I got mail" from the crank yankers applied as my inbox mail alert). Now on the 815 Verizon crippled the ability to copy the sound file from the card to the phone's memory so all you can do is listen to the sound file from the card thu...

Ringtones from Get It Now??

Is there any way I can transfer my ringtones from my old phone (LG6000) to this phone without purchasing credits again. All the ringtones came from Get It Now.

E815 - Keypad Protection

Anyone found a case that that has a protector (clear) that covers all of the keys? I was snooping around the web researching this phone, and I saw where folks are complaining that the info on the keys is already beginning to wear off.

Saw at the Verizon store that you get a free flip (lg 3300) when you buy the 8100.

Even though my last 4 phones were LG -4400,4500,8000 and the 8100 I wasn't even tempted, esp after my nightmares with the 8000 and 8100.

I'll stick with my reliable Motorola for now until something else comes out.

PC Sync

To those of you who are testing the phones. Have any of you tried the PC sync functions? How is the integration with Outlook? Is the sync via bluetooth or do you need to use a cord? Thanks

Price Increase

The price of this phone is now $149.99 after a $50 rebate on a 2 yr plan and the 8100 is now only $99 on a 2 yr plan.

transflash card 101

for those of you you like me did not know about how to actually connect transflash cards or specifically how they work with the PC here is a bit of information.

The transfalsh card such as the 512mb has a bit less than 512 of actual memory (approx 480-512).

When you transfer the mulitmedia from card to pc the data on the card does not erase but rather its identifier is modified so that it can not be found on the card. Newly saved multimedia will be written over the old data.

The transflash card is inserted into the phone ans is meant not to be taken in and out often. I have been told it can stay in there during charging and turning the phone on and off. The phone can be connected to the pc through either a card reader or a specia...

Hmmm-what to do, what to do, keep the 815, look at the SCH-A970 or wait for the CDMA RAZR?

Ok, I have the 815--phone does everything reasonably well, no real problems but it doesn't seem to have the "wow" factor.

The Samsung is coming out soon and looks pretty neat with the 2.0 camera and digital zoom but I'd have to pay full-retail and if I'm going full then I want something that I'll be happy with for a year. I'm not sure about the styling on this phone yet.

The CDMA Razr looks great but not sure about camera, bluetooth and the ability to download my own ringtones.

switching between calls/linking calls

I was on the phone today and someone was calling in on the other line. I answered that call and when I was done talking to them there was no option for me to switch back to the other call or link the calls together. Does this phone not have those option?

thanks in advance for any info you can give me 🙂

8100 owner..need info on ringtones to help me make my decision to exchange to 815 or not...help!!

So I did a search on ringtones and seems there are 2 main methods to getting them on the 815:

1. Go to website like funmobile.com and send them as txt or pix message.

2. Save to transflash card and play from there.

Is there any other way besides this, like maybe with a data cable? I have the 8100 and am able to load all that stuff through a data calbe using bitpim program. I wanted to know if I could get ringtones to phone without paying fee for text/pix message or going out and buying a transflash card (256mb much pricier than 512mb mini sd card that I have).

I am having service issues w/8100 and have exchange a few times now and am seriously considering the 815 instead.
Couple of things I don't like about the 815 are the...

Data transfer from phone to PC?

I've skimmed this forum, but haven't read a clear answer for my question:

Is it possible to transfer photos/other data from the phone to PC? How? Bluetooth? USB cable? Verizon data service?

I'm most interested in transferring taken photos off the phone to PC, not so interested in ringtones/mp3s etc.

red borders new to e815 along with price increase

Checked verizon website Monday 8/29. Price is up and so are those nasty red borders on the main screen as depicted in the photo. Same ones on the LG8100 whose price has dropped. Seems the price just flipped flopped on these phones. Go figure.

transflash card or deluxe phone tools?

I have been enjoying the pictures and video option with the 815 and go through the process of emailing to my computer and then distributing them to friends and rels. I know there is the transflash card option but wonder if the phone tools deluxe is an alternative. I was surprised to hear that it existed because I had been told only a few weeks ago that no cable existed to transfer the pics and videos to my computer from the phone. so I wonder if this option will really work.

Also can the bluetooth option work to do this transfer with phone tools deluxe?

If I use the transflash card do I need a reader? Some of the transflash cards seem not to require them (or so it seems as I read the literature but I am not sure).

What equipme...
