transferring phone book from old to new phone?

is there a way i can do it w/out having to go to verizon and pay $10 friggin dollars?!

i really don't want to sit down with both phones in my hands, inputting each contact one by one. if there is an easier way, i would appreciate any advice.

one poster said to keep trying other stores until a rep does it w/out the fee. they almost did the transfer for me, but without first notifying me that i had to pay a fee for it. 😲

Call Waiting function check...

Sorry gang, having a brain cramp here after reading the manual for my new E815.

Please refresh my memory as to how to put a current caller on hold in order to answer an incoming call.

I know it must be pretty basic but I could find nothing in the book about how to switch between callers with the call waiting feature.

Thanks!

A question about changing speed dial numbers of a contact

Is there a way on the E815 to change the speed dial number of a contact (call him "Contact A") to another speed dial number without completely deleting the contact who presently has the speed dial number you want to switch to ("Contact B")? What I'd like to do is to change the speed dial number of Contact B to another speed dial number, but not delete Contact B. Do I have to first find who has the speed dial number I want to switch Contact A to (Contact B) and switch Contact B's speed dial number before switching Contact A's speed dial number?

One more question, about contacts and international dialing

When I dial internationally using my calling card, I have to dial a nine digit number, followed by a ten digit pin number, followed by the usual international dialing numbers. The E815 lacks the capacity to accept all these numbers as one contact listing. Is there a way to string together the nine digit number and pin number with the international number which is entered as a separate contact, after dialing the nine digit number and pin number?

Thanks for any help on this one, also.

Signal Booster?

I went to the "Shop" (which is right next to the Forum) on Phonescoop and saw something called a "Universal Cellular Phone Booster Antenna". You put it behind the battery in the phone and it is supposed to give you better signal.

Anyone know if this kind of thing works?

Why do VZW sales people push the LGvx8100

I am curious about the seemingly blanketed response from vzw sales people in upper NY state (Capital area). I do NOT want to start a "..phone X is far superior.." type of thread, but wonder if anyone has an answer...

I was at 3 different stores, two of which had no 8100's and had e815's in stock. ALL of the sales people tried to sell me 8100's-- even those without the phone in stock! I spent a lot of time reading these boards and think each phone has its strengths and weaknesses. Why the bias? Is it only in my area?? It seems weird the sales people would push a phone they do not have in stock (never happened with a wireless rep before!).

Do the sales people get a bonus for selling the 8100's?

TIA for any insight into the sales rac...

How many E815 owners agree with me

There are some pros to the phone like reception and battery, but here are my gripes:

Loose creaky squeaky construction of phone, makes cracking noises as you press the keypad. You can feel the case moving.

Sloppy side to side play in hinge. Mostly felt when flip is closed.

Echo or sound like I'm speaking into an empty 55 gallon drum.

Buzz or crackle in earpiece heard when other party speaks on high notes, regardless of my volume setting.

Dim power key.

Not the loudest speakerphone I've heard.

Now here is the part I really don't understand. We all waited somewhere in the area of 5 months while VZW tested this phone, or at least that is what I read here on numerous threads. Exactly what were they testing?? The first ship...

Anyone know exchange details? Any Verizon employees know?

I truly enjoy my phone, but I have had some problems with it including audio, camera dead pixels, loose plastic. If I've exchanged several times with the same or different problems for defective reasons, is there a limit? Or if the phones have been defective, does Verizon need to keep exchanging until I find a phone that works like it should? I hate to admit, but I have exchanged 4 times, and I'm ready to exchange again for volume probs, and 3 dead pixels on camera(pretty noticeable-I can see having one dead, but three?). I feel pretty embarrassed to go back into the store, but I have never had to exchange any of my other phones that I have had with Verizon. I really want to stay with this phone. I am hoping a good batch will come out or has...

Exchanged my 815 at Verizon

I had the 815 for four days and was very disappointed with the camera, volume and a few other issues. I decided to give it another chance and wait in line at Verizon, and wait & wait. Okay, I took my 815 phone back and exchanged it for one that had a more recent production date on the box. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but after a few hours of use and a few pics, I am a much happier camper right about now! The camera seems to be much better and the phone doesn't creek. The volume is also good on this one. The jury is still out for a few days at least, but for right now this might be the camera, oops, phone I was looking for.

Phone Freezing and Resetting???

My phone seems to be randomly resetting itself when I attempt to reply to text messages. It doesn't do it all the time, but at least once a day. I have tried VZW customer care, and they don't seem to be able to figure out what the problem is. I had the same problem with my V710.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is there any way to stop it?

Help!!! Thanks.

Earpiece Volume????

I have had many Motorola's in the past. And I always had a problem with the volume in the handset being low. I would have to push the speaker into my ear canal! I know the V710 had this problem. Could someone that has this phone let me know how the volume is?

Walmart ringtones, help

I must be doing something wrong. I am trying to get a walmart ringtone, but I can't save it to the phone. I do it the same way I do it on my v551. I send the URL as a txt msg to my phone I open the txt msg and click on "go to" but it only plays it; it doesn't give me an option to save it. On my v551 when I do this, after I click on "go to" it starts downloading, and after the donwload is complete it is automaticaly saved on the phone. Do I have to do something different? What am I doing wrong? Please help.
