Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I'm curious if VCAST will survive.

I am currently on my free 1 month and I really don't see much value in it. I look at the Weather Video clip on the morning dog walk and that is about it.

I can't help but notice that most of the video clip choices also have a price next to them. Currently they are all $0.00, but does that indicate that VZW is going to (at some point in the future) start charging for premium content on top of the $15 month charge???

I can see their model now ... Brittney F'ing Spears new music video ... watch it on your phone for an additional $1.99.

Who finds VCAST useful?? I mean, even as a pure entertainment outlet I don't find myself sitting around exploring what it has to offer ... I think it is kind of s...

Can I use my own photos from my PC library as wallpaper on the 815? If so, how do I get them into the phone? Also, I have a TF card and I was wondering, can I store ringtones that I have uploaded to the phone there so they will still work with the phone, or do they have to be stored on the phones internal memory?

Which setting do you set your speaker phone to under 'initial setup'? Do you set it to 'Always On' or to '20 second timeout'?
Why?

- The reason I ask is because I had it set to 20 sec timeout and found that when I was playing with the phone (ie, going through menus, etc.) the speaker phone would suddenly turn off.
- Am I correct in assuming that the speaker phone would NOT turn off while I was on it?? (I know it's a stupid question, but...)

- Then I set it to 'Always On' and forgot that it was on. When someone called me I didn't realize that it was on until I started talking. Don't know if I like that either.

Your thoughts...??

So if I buy a zire 72 that has bluetooth for internet access I can use dun to get online, correct? And if I just have mobile web and not vcast service I should connect at evdo speeds and just use my minutes when browsing??

I have mobile Phone Tools version 3.11h, but I cannot figure out how to update it to the latest version.

I found somewhere that I go to menu -> setup -> live update, but in the setup menu, all I see is:
1. general setup
2. new phone
3. SMS config (greyed out)
4. Internet connections (greyed out)

There is an update under help, but that just takes me to a webpage.

Please help.

I just ordered this phone 😁 and am wandering what card to get? Also do you know how much the phone actually supports?

I just got the E815 and so far I really like it. I transferred the contact list from my computer and it worked but they are listed in alphabetical order based on the first name instead of the last. I cannot figure out how to change this on any of the menus on the phone. Can anyone help with this?

I have the e815. I bought the leather case for the phone from the store. Found out the the leather case for the top of the phone was making it close quicker than expected because it is heavy. So I exchanged the phone thinking it was bad, but the case back and did the same thing. So what case are you guys using?? Where did you buy it from?

Looks like the debate over which to buy (the 8100 or the e815) will be over for awhile. A friend of mine just tried to get an 8100 here in PDX and was told they will be on backorder for awhile. We then called customer service and they told him the same thing. I went home and looked it up and most of the major verizon markets are sold out and the others are short on supply. So my advice would be to just buy the e815 and do not look back. believe me...once the decision is made and the newness wears off you will never regret it since both these phones are great.

hey guys, how is the phone handlin, personally, im waiting for the V3x or V1150, whatever you wanna call it. But i was wondering about pre paid, like net10 or tracfone. can anyone tell me if you can take any phone and activate it for net10?? nad has anyone ever used it, because i like that idea, since i have the same setup in Europe. thanks

few questions:

1. If I'm on speaker phone with flip CLOSED, is there any way to end the call without having to open flip and press 'end call' button?

2. Also, if speaker phone is set to ON and the flip is CLOSED, I can't seem to change the volume? Am I doing something wrong?

3. If someone calls, can I see who is calling on outside LCD?

4. If I don't want to take a call, can I just press a button WHILE THE FLIP IS CLOSED to ignore call?

I've read several post regarding making a contact a 'Primary' contact. But for the life of me, I can NOT find the choice for 'primary' anywhere in contact menu. What am I missing???

I've tried creating three contacts with the same name and I still don't see any options to make one 'primary'.

- After you explain where this option is, could you also explain again why and when you would use this?

(I know I sound backwards here...bear with me).

It appears from reading the description of the phone that each entry for a person will be separate entries instead of grouped together.

i.e John work and John cell will appear as two distinct entries.

If this is true, is there any way to change that setting and group all numbers under a single entry. I seem to recall from reading the v710 forum that this could be done.

Can someone confirm?

Does anyone have problems with voice dialing with the E815? I have the problem with the phone asking if I want to call someone else two or three times before the name I want to call.

IS it better to go in the direction of a MOTOROLA Entertainment Pack. Includes TransFlash 128 MB Card, TransFlash Card Reader, Stereo Headset HS120.

If I bought that what would be the most common things I would use this for?

How is that different than getting a usb cable with phone tool 3.0?

Can someone recommend a bluetooth headset for the e815...specifically, does one headset get better reception then another?
