An address book question

After I purchased my E815, the Verizon salesman transferred my address book from my prior LG phone. Unlike with the LG, each phone number of the same person, shows up on the E815 as a separate entry. I understand that it's possible to arrange the phonebook so that only one number for a person shows and to get to his other numbers, you scroll right or left. If this is done, I understand that the voice dialing is still available for all of this person's numbers. Does anyone know how you rearrange the multiple phone numbers of a person in this way? Thank you.

Timer

Is there a way to view a call timer when you are talking on the phone. I know on my LG VX7000 when you talked on the phone the timer showed exactly how long you were on the phone, I don't see that feature with this E815 or do I have to turn it on somehow?

Verizon just made me very very happy

The past week I spoke with two vzw reps on the phone trying to get any sort of discount on the e815. My efforts were to no avail, however tonight, I got a good one! I told him my sob story of my current crap phone (v265) and how I have been with Verizon for 3 years and asked if there was any discount. He found one! He gave me the customer loyalty discount. Ask for it, you might get it. I do not know the qualifications, but it sounded as if it was according to the reps mood. It gave me $50 off the e815.

Antenna - how many extend the antenna when using phone?

I'm into my 7th day of testing E815 and have NOT used the extended antenna. (my previous moto phone had stub antenna, so I guess I'm just not used to extending an antenna). I've been using the phone both on speaker and regular.

How many of you extend the antenna whenever you speak on phone? Is it necessary? Does it necessarily improve rf?

Also, do you extend when using speaker phone?

Satifaction on Mp3 player....

How satisfied is everyone with the mp3 player on this phone? Is it crippled like on the 8100, or is there a way to get them. Also, are you able to use custom ring-tones, this is a deal breaker for me...

Does the red "End call" key light up?

I just got E815 yesterday and noticed only the red "End call/Power" key does not light up. Is this designed this way or broken?

Text Message Time Stamp

When I am in a no service area and someone sends me a text message and then I download the message later, the message timestamp reflects the time I received the message rather than the time it was sent.

Is it possible to have the timestamp reflect the time it was sent?

E815 Camera - Bad pictures!

My pictures are blurry indoors and out, sometimes grainy, and the 4x zoom is completely useless, always a bad picture and out of focus!

I know there's a lot of people on this site who say that if you want a camera go buy one, but with the technology we have at our disposal today, why can't we have a decent camera in our phones. It's not like they don't promote the s#%t out of that feature, they sell it because we ultimately want a phone that does everything a phone should do and have it's second most prominent feature, the camera, work very well for us!

Please let me know if I just have a bad phone or if there are any tricks to improve the camera.

E815 Vs, LG 8100

If the price was the same, which is the better all around phone, Looks, Feel, Operation and can the e815 have multiple phone Numbers under one name. I am leaning towards the E815 - Is this the better overall choice

Missed calls notification not reliable...

Sorry to post in two places, but...

Has anyone else noticed on the e815 that if you've missed a call, pressing the side keys while the phone is closed erases the notification of the missed call?

Try this:
1. Call your cell phone from a different phone. Don't answer, and hang up when you get your voicemail. Your phone will say "1 missed call" or something on the outside.
2. Without opening your phone, press one of the volume keys on the outside.
3. Notice that the missed call notification is gone both on the outside display and on the inside display when you open your phone.

There are lots of reasons why you might hit the outside volume button after missing a call - accidentally bumping it, accidentally pressing it when you pick u...

E815 Initial Programming

Hey all. I just picked up my E815 today and I love it. On all of my past phones, I've been able to put in my own IP address for free wap. Anyone have any idea on how to get into the hidden programming of the phone so I can change it? Thanks.

Problems with VCast freezing and resetting phone

My 815 didnt have the VCast on it so I went and got the software download for it. Now I notice that it takes awhile for the VCast to load. I had the LG8000 and it takes significantly longer to load into VCast than it used to. Also when I go into Entertainment/VCast Encore it completely freezes my phone and then resets it. Anyone else having this problem?

Are there any alternate web browsers available for this phone that I can install? I mean for real HTML browsing, not the wap stuff.

Streaming Media: RealOne/Windows/Other ?

I got the e815 with VCast. I used to listen to streaming news websites using RealOne on my Nokia. Now with the fancy VCast I thought I would be able to get the same programs but I can't figure it out.

Is there a way to listen to any streaming media I want on the the web or am I limited to whatever they put on VCast? I am willing to pay for a download or whatever but I can't find one.

Thanks!

Get It Now SUCKS!

I just need to vent. I purchased the LG 8100 on Wednesday the 13th and the phone for five days before I decided to return it. (Bad reception) During the five days I had the phone, I purchased one game from get it now for $6.50. After dealing with the 8100 for five days, I returned it for the e815 (which I love). I just called 611 to have verizon credit the $6.50 to my account or re-download the game on my new phone. The said they can only credit the game if the phone was a warranty exchange. The could do nothing for me. This is crap! 👿

TF Card

Now, I have been here for a while reading on everything about this phone and I'm basically all set on getting it when my contract goes up on the 16th. Now, I hear that Verizon has crippled the TF card, but to what extent? Can I put mp3, pictures, movies, etc. on it? If not, what can be put on it? If I'm spending the money to get a new phone and a TF card, I need to know what I can and cannot do with the phone. Thanks.
