what's the best way to recharge the battery?
when i got the phone i was told to charge the battery fully and then let the battery die completely two times and charge it fully after each time. after the two times then it wouldn't matter when i charge it. that is supposed to be good for the battery life. is this the best way or should i not do this? i've only had it for 2 days but i'm not down any bars yet and would like to know so i can get this battery to have good battery life and last as long as possible. what is the best way if this isn't it?
Bluetooth question
I just replaced my V710 with the new Motorola E815 today. I also purchased a Bluetooth D-Link DBT-120 to connect my phone to my computer. I am having a difficult time making them work together. Did Verizon cripple the bluetooth technology so much, I should just return it and wait for a hacker to hack the blue tooth back to normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Antenna
We are still contemplating which phone (actually we need two - so maybe I'll just get both the 815 and 8100 and compare them for two weeks) - here's my antenna question. On the 815 do you need to pull the antenna out to get good reception or for the most part do you leave it alone? Also, is it fairly snug tucked into its holder? The reason I ask this is that my wife carries her phone in her pocketbook and is afraid the antenna would open up and easily snap off.
Thanks

Chargers
I have two cell phones. I have the V551 with Cingular and the E815 with Verizon. I just looked at the chargers and even though they look somewhat the same they have different power outage or outputs...
V551 output is 5.9V 375mA
E815 output is 4.6V 0.774A
Is it ok for me to charge my E815 with the V551's charger? or vice versa. It charges fine, but I'm afraid that this might damage the battery in the long run... Any suggestions?

Switched to e815 from 8100. One question. Please help.
I just switched from the 8100 to the e815 mainly because of reception. Both phones have their perks, but I like the e815 better so far.
My questions is related to playing mp3's in stereo over headphones. I had a v710 last year that required a special mini jack to normal headphone connector. The radio shack version would not work as this requires 3 or 4 leads??? I think one lead is misplaced because of the microphone on a phone headset. Unfortunately, I lost the one I purchased for the v710. Any ideas? Thanks in advanced.

person on different cellphone hears e815 caller's voice as distant? not echo, but faint/distant?
when talking on your e815 has anyone else ever had someone tell you that your voice sounded distant on their cellphone even though their cellphone earpiece volume was turned all the way up? it's not the echo problem, but your voice is very far away sounding to them. the person i talked to was using an lg vx8000. i tested it again at their house and we could be just 1 room apart or me upstairs and them downstairs and they still said that i sounded distant. and their phone sounds really good for all other calls made to, and coming from, land lines and cellphones.

Reviews!!!
How can a phone be applauded and almost perfect for two weeks and then a competitors phone comes out that appears to be a dud and all of a sudden the E815 gets a series of poor reviews? It almost sounds as if the poor reviews are not real.I hope this is not the case but something sure looks fishy!

Is there a way to switch between vibrate/loud rings with 1 button?
I used to be able to toggle between loud ring / vibrate / silent modes on my old LG phone by pressing and holding the * button.
How can I switch to the vibrate mode by pressing a button once (on my E815 phone)?
I assigned a shortcut, but it still requires few keys to be pressed to accomplish this result.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Two questions
This phone is great ! We now have three of them. (me wife & son). 🙂
Two things we can't figure out. 😕
1. The phone came with ten mid'y music files. (songs).. I have tried to delete them but can't. Has anybody else been able to delete these music files?
2. The low battery beep can't be shut off. Man , There has to be a way to shut this off.. Has anybody figured this out? I like to run my battery's all the way down for conditioning reasons. I always carry a spare fully charged battery in my pocket.
Thanks for your help.

Is it possible to transfer files from a pocket pc to the e815 via bluetooth?
Does anyone know how to transfer mp3s/contacts etc. from a pocket pc to the e815? The whole bluetooth thing is cool but would it allow those kind of transfers?
voice dialing not working - help!
Anyone else having a problem with voice dialing by name? Steps and results as follows:
-I hit the bottom button on the right side of the phone and I get the "Say a command" prompt
- I say call and receive "Say a name or number"
- I say a number and the functionality works, however,
- if I say a name, regardless of the name, where I am as far as outside noise, etc, I alwasy get the "name not recognized" response.
Maybe I just have a lemon since I have this problem as well as the echo problem etc.

A Phone is Just a Phone
I was really excited about this phone when it was first released. Then, as the comments start, I see that phones are getting "too close" to computers - they have all the bugs of a major new software release (I'm sure the LG VX8100 will be the same).
I guess I'll just replace my 4 year old Audiovox CDM9000 (which has great battery life, sound, reception, and durability) with something simpler (and more reliable) - maybe an Audiovox CDM 8910.
Sigh - maybe in 2 years (next NE2).

how do i get the phone to make that beeping sound when decreasing the ring volume?
you guys with the motorola e815 know that when you want to change the volume of the ring for the phone, you open the phone and then press the volume buttons on the left side of the phone up or down depending on if you want the ring louder or quieter. when you press the button to increase the volume, it makes that beeping sound, but when you press the button to decrease the volume, it doesn't make any sound at all. i'd like it to beep when i press the button to decrease the volume too, but i've looked through the instruction book and the phone's menus and i can't find anywhere that i can change something so that it does it. so my questions are these 2 things:
1. can i get it to beep when i'm decreasing the volume?
2. does the same thi...
