Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Some questions maybe you all can provide some feedback-
1) With the E815 - can you email pictures taken with the phone to any SMTP email account? Or must you email them first to your account at Verizon (thus get charged .25 cents per photo)download them locally, then forward them on.
2) Can the pictures be transferred to a PC with the Bluetooth USB adapter ? Or does this require DUN to be enabled ( I have seen the prior posts on how-to). Sounds like this would be easier then transferring them via transflash.

Are future batches of the e815s going to be better and have glitches worked out (like camera and VCast problems)? or will they be exactly the same as those currently available.

Should I wait a month, or a few weeks before buying? or Does it make no difference?

Please tell me the e895 is not going to be a verizon phone. If this phone is half as sweet as it looks and comes out Q4 2005 then I just blew $450 on this e815 and vx8100 because I will have to get the e895. (pardon the run-on sentence...I was excited)

The walmart CD store works well for most songs to make as a ringtone...but they are all edited songs. Amazon.com has the same feature as walmart- that you can preview the songs on a cd and save it to your computer but i cannot get the songs from amazon to be a compatible format that will play on my phone. The songs from walmart are mp3 files and you can change them into .mid and works great. but from amazon they are .asx files and i cannot figure out any way to make it work or change the format.

If anyone knows how to get these songs to work please let me know. Or if anyone knows of any other websites or anywhere where u can get the 30 second samples of song's and that will work that would be great too.

On my main menu, on the GET IT NOW Icon, the V-CAST Video Icon does exist.

I tried sending myself .mp3 files of different size and name using www.vzwpix.com, tried it by sending an email to [email protected] and also tried to do it with other sites. My music comes through, and i can save it, but when i go to media gallery -> sounds -> then i can see the .mid files that come with the phone (and these i can set as a ring tone by clicking menu, then clicking on "apply as ring tone") but when i click on one of the .mp3s that i have uploaded, it lets me listen to the song, but when i click on menu, there is no optio...

This phone gets better reception than my v710, how u figure, no analog! I love it!

i wanted to give back now that i figured the whole mp3 ringtone thing.....Go to the walmart site for the 30 sec clips as suggested but after saving the clips to your computer rename the file from .mp3 to .mid. but before you do that you must go to the control panel, go to tools, then folder options, click on the view tab, then uncheck the box that says hide extensions for known file types. after that you should be able to remame it to .mid, then you can email it to [email protected] as an attachment so that when you receive it you can save it as a ringtone. hope this helps, it worked for me and i had the same trouble everyone was having...... 😉

Has anyone figured out how to change the background wallpaper on the external display.

When I change the wallpaper it only effects the internal display...

Any ideas..

Mine is showing the default beach scene.....on the external display...

The new E895 is crzay! I can't believe it. I started with the e815, then swapped it out for LG VX811, and finally went back again to the Moto e815 (VX8100 didn't meet the hype)

AND now there is a NEW moto e895 coming out?? The pics of the new phone is off the hook!

Can I use the bluetooth on my laptop to access this phone and drop in mp3s

Does anyone know how to turn off the sounds the phone makes when it starts up? I have one, but I can't seem to figure it out...

I have had my phone since July 9. One time while talking to a friend, I decided to try connecting the blue tooth headset in the middle of the call. Well, my phone froze. Basically, no keys work including trying to shut the phone down (nor were any calls able to come in). The only way I was able to fix it was to pull the battery out. I didn't think much of it & blamed myself for trying to turn on the blue tooth while on an active call. Then this morning I went to use my phone & it was FROZEN again!! I hadn't touched it all night (& used it before I went to bed). Now this has only happen two times in 8 days, but I'm bit worried. Anyone else out there having this issue? ☹️

I got my E815 on July 5th and I love the phone but some people post their pics on HOFO with excellent quality. I look at the pics I have and they are all blurry. I have it set on auto and at the highest resolution. Anybody have similar issues? I have seemed edited the phone but I doubt that is the issue.

can someone what dead pixels on the camera look like?

With the v710, when I am in a place where there is no service, the display on the outside of the phone says "No Serivce", and when I click the side button says Vibrate or Loud or whatever mode its on, but still not the time. In order to see the time I have to open the phone.

This is also happens when i have a lot of text messages; it will simply say "Messages Full" and not display the time. Does this happen with the e815?
