Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I am looking to get a new phone and I've narrowed my search to the 8100 or the e815.

My friend has the 710 and he loves it! Maybe I should just get that since its so much like the e815?

Should i have my phone updated with new software for vcast or have them exchange it? Anything else wrong with the phones with no vcast software? or is it just that issue?

I just got the e815 but am finding some features to be less than excitig. Any comments on the Samsung a890?

BESTBUY JUST RECIEVED THE DUMMY PHONE, AND MY ACCOUNT EXEC SAID THEY WILL RECIEVE THE PHONE AROUND MID FEB. I DO NOT HAVE A PRICE POINT YET FROM VERIZON.

First off I would like to say that I love the screen and the menus are great with fast response time. I was very excited to get this phone.

I am currently a AT&T/Cingular customer and I am still on the $99 unlimited plan. My plan was to keep my AT&T plan and my phone (motorola V600) and add a Verizon phone so that I could make calls in areas where my AT&T phone doesn't work becuase usually one will work where the other one doesn't.

So I waited and waited and waited until yesterday. I went into Circuit Silly and bought the phone. I started to use it and the sound quality was pretty good. I know they are very close in size but will a full housing change for a v710 work on the e815??

Has anyone had a problem with the phone not ringing while charging? I have missed a few calls, that I know of, because the phone did not ring while being charged. And why can't the phone ring while on the web? Or give you the option to answer!

Does anyone know the phone comes with the transflash card or not? If not, which size should I buy for normal use? and where to buy? Do I need some sort of card adapter to transfer data from phone to pc, or pc to phone? Thanks.

I just switched to verizon from sprint this past weekend due to better service in my area. I am trying to decide on a new phone and currently have the e815. Size is a huge issue for me. I love the big, colorful screen and all the features of the e815. I also do a lot of text messaging so the large keypad is nice to have. I am not too concerned with the mp3 differences between the phones but the size is a big issue for me. I went to the vzw store yesterday to play with the vx8100 and liked the size a lot better but to be honest it was quite boring. The graphics and display were disapointing. The front display was vivid but very small. What should I do? I have another 13 days to trade my e815 in for the vx8100 or I could wait, anyone know of a...

I love the new skins and that they change more than jsut the colorof the menus. this may be a stupid question, but i really have no ideaabout this. My question is, are there more skins besides the 3 on the E815?

I was reading the online menu, and it said that: "all multimedia will play through the speakerphone while bluetooth is active." (p.30)

Does that mean that if I have the bluetooth handsfree link for my car activated, I won't be able to use my headset to listen to MP3's?

Is there any type of bitpim or mobile office kit for Mac that supports this phone?

I have a mac and I want to make my phone a e815m but I dont think I can do that without the mobile office kit!!

Hey, I just checked Amazon.com and they're selling the e815 for $199 with service contract or $299 without contract.

Is there software to download, functionality I'm unaware of, or a hack to be able to scroll through contacts using more than one letter? For instance, I have about 30 contacts starting with 'C'. On the LG and most phones, I could type C and then h and it would narrow my scrolling to contacts starting with 'Ch'. On the Motorola, if I hit 'C' then 'H', I'm in the first contact starting with 'H'. This is a reason to return the phone for me. Not to mention the horrible echoing and sound quality whether using Bluetooth, a plug-in headset, or talking directly into the phone. Thanks for any help.

Does the phone have prvision to type in a to do list or a place to keep written notes?

I currently have the e815 and already have another e815 on the way to replace this one due to earpiece speaker vibration and poor quality audio when listening to people. I also have been having problems with the software and freezing. I press the camera button and many times the viewfinder won't appear on the screen and I have to power down and up to alleviate the problem. Also, several times when deleting pics, phone froze?

My issues with the e815

1. Earpiece in phone has terrible quality
2. Camera, viewfinder image looks great, when the picture is taken, quality diminishes.
3. Opening the phone doesn't have the "solid" feel I have been used to (with older Motos and LGs and Sammys).
