Saving sounds as ringtones..

Does anyone who has the phone know if you can save a soundbyte sent to you in a pix msg? If so can you save it to the phone and use it as a ringtone?

On the LG 8100 you can't do this unless you do some software editing. Just wondering how it works on the e815.

Hello?

I got approval for early upgrade using NE2 . three weeks early. Called Customer SERVICE tonight and was told E815 is on hold yet. I asked if he was sure and He said he was correct. I then went on the verizon wireless s=site and ordered the phone with no problem. What gives?

Don't use DUN with E815

Tutorial – Verizon/Alltel/Sprint have two separate systems that can provide data services to your mobile device (Mobile phone or PCMCIA card).
- The first is based off of the same system that provides voice calls and is called CDMA 1x. Since the primary function of the CDMA 1x system is voice the data rates that you can achieve are limited to 144k in a best case scenario.
- The next generation system is called Evolution Data Only (EVDO) and is a completely different system that Verizon bought and was installed side by side to the 1x system. This EVDO system can provide up to 2.4 M theoretical and around 500k on average.
In order to access either EVDO or CDMA 1x Data on your phone it has to be enabled by Verizon to use these services. Th...

HS820 Multi-Function Button

Is there a way to use the HS820 multi-function button to signal the e815 to send sets of tones in a dial string? I used to use it with a V60s/DC600 combination and each time I pressed the MFB, it would sent the next set of tones (extension #, etc.). Doing the same with the e815 ends the call.

Where to buy E815 Accessories?

Okay, I want the data cable, stand up charger, & a belt clip. NO Verizon stores have them yet. I know there are alot of phone experts monitoring these forums, please recommend a reliable online site. Should I use the Shop in this forum? I'm a newbie that want authentic Motorola items!

horrible firmware experience

So yesterday I got an E815 after work. After a problematic activation, the rep. explained to me that some of the phones were shipped without the VCAST software and that I would need to come back to the store today to get the phone flashed with new software.

So I called the store on my drive home today and asked if they had indeed gotten the software update and should I stop by.

They confirmed they had it and that it would take about 20 minutes to do. So I get to the store 5:45 and they tell me to come back at 6:30. They explained the delay was that they already had a phone on the computer they use to push the updates.

So I come back at 6:30 and they tell me it failed the update and that they restarted it, and I should come back i...

Here is the Issue with the E815

I ordered mine last Thursday and received it via FedEx today - I saw on this site there was a VCAST issue with the phone - When I programmed it today and spoke to the VZW rep she said the phone has been pulled and may be permanent due to the VCAST issue - She did say that the claim their website had a glitch which is why the e815 was not appearing was false. I don't have VCAST in my area, so I'm unable to verify this - but this is what I heard and I just wanted to pass it along - This did not impact all e815's she said they're trying to isolate the units affected. Mine seems to be working fine - I like it better than the V710 just because it looks cooler...have only had it for about 2 hours now but just wanted to let you know what I was told...

V-815 Back on the Verizon Web sight

🙂 The V-815 is back at the Verizon Web Sight.
I went to the Verizon Service Center and had them check my Software to be sure it was up to date. They treated me in a very professional way. Also theV-815 was being sold in there store. I live in the Central Jersey area. My phones (two) are both working flawlessly. I hope yours are too. 😁

greater than 15 sec video??

Before verizon 'addopt' the phone, I read that the phone was capable of taking up to 5 min video with the our of box memory card - is it possible to take videos greater than 15 seconds? I went thru the options and couldn't find a way to change it.

e815 EV-DO areas

sorry if this is kind of a newb question but could somebody please post a link that shows all of the areas that are currently covered by EVDO? This would be helpful in knowing if verizon loaded the wrong software in my phone or if I'm simply in the wrong area.

Thank You

Fed-X Just Delivered It...Now What Shoud I Do

Package with phone just arrived and I read all the legal "stuff" and put the battery in to charge.

What hacks should I do first? I'm not planning on using Vcast even though I did sign up for a free month of it. I'm going to be more into doing my own ringtones and wallpaper using "real" artists vs. that polyphonic stuff.

I feel slightly techno-challenged going from a Samsung SCH-A310 to this phone and I want to be able to use most of its capabilities!!!

sch a890

Why is all of the fuss between the e815 and 8100 when the samsung sch a890 is very similar to both of these phones. I'm due for a new phone thanks to ne2 and am coming from a samsung sch a530 which i've loved. the sammy has been great to me but i've heard no praise for it. any reason? (i don't get "into" phones as much as the majority of the people here so any info is more than i already know)

When will V-Cast expand?

Does anyone know if there are plans to expand V-Cast coverage anytime soon. I received a phone without the software - but I'm in a non V-Cast area, so no big deal. I'm just wondering if I should bother standing in line at the VZW tech services counter for something I can only use when I'm in Atlanta (about an hour away) once a month.

Sold out

Went by the Circuit City today to inquire about the E815 and they said they sold out within days of the original release and are back ordered for another shipment. My phone apparently has the vcast software, the Verizon website has the phone advertised and vcast is not available yet in my area. None of this matters to me because I didn't purchase the phone for vcast.
