Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Hello-
I have installed the mobile office kit and with the USB cable connected it will not detect the phone. Can someone please give a STEP BY STEP for how to set this up. I have done a live update with the VZ Access manager and everything. I basically want to be able to sync my calendar with my phone. Do I have the proper software? Do I need to get a mobile phone tools kit? Is there a difference between MOK and MPT? If so where do I get MPT, it was not available in the store where I got my MOK. I went on howard forums and I could not find anything to help me. Of course VZ tech support was of no help with my issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I posted on HOFO but got 1 response. I just got the E815 yesterday and everything is fine until I noticed when taking pics at home that there were a few dead white pixels when the camear function was on. the pictures look fine but that is odd. Also if I zoom in I see a reddish purple spot in the top right. Just thought if anybody else had that.

If you have on of the E815's that doesn't show the V-Cast icon you can go to a vzw store and get the software upgrade.

DUN, dial-up networking, can be enabled very easily on the e815...

just dial ##DIALUP (##342587) into your phone rather quickly, almost as if you were making a call.

when you type in the last number, a screen pops up saying dial-up networking enabled.

do disable DUN, simply rinse and repeat 🙂

I get nothing on the phone?? No message..Yesterday after exchanging my original e815, i was able to send ringtones to the new phone, but now nothing?
Any solution...

Might be getting cable and phone tool hoping i can get into the phone...

when you put the transflash card into the reader thats in your computer does a anything pop up...like does the motorola audio/video/mp3's folders show up or something...kinda confused so if you can explain it to me that would be awesome! 🙂

I've been reading the threads good and bad about the E815 and wanted to post my experience. I got the E815 as an upgrade on the 6th. Got V-Cast free for a month, not sure if I will subscribe, though it is pretty cool. When I got the phone I also got the HS-820 Headset. Paired it up and it works fine. I did notice that when you charge the headset it disables itself and you have to enable it again through the phone (no big pain). Voice mail comes through just fine without any problems so far. Conversations seem to be very clear without any ear piece problems. I'm not dropping calls in the same places I had been with my previous phone, (my 5 year old daughter has it now). Yesterday I picked up a Moto HS820. I have not done much research on BT headsets, just went with the recommendation of my local VZW rep. Anyone care to give a comprehensive comparison of different BT headsets, or point me to some good reviews?

I have used wired headsets for years, and swear by Plantronics, couldn't stand the Jabra, although I have heard their BT is pretty good.

Also, not wanting to start a war here, if it matters, I got a VX8100. I have put a similar post on that forum, but really only received a couple of responses recommending the Jabra.

Please post recommendations.

I was wondering if there's a way to delete the preloaded wallpapers and graphics. I love the phone but want the graphics go. It can get annoying scrolling through a bunch of preloaded pics to view my personal ones.

I just got the e815. Wonderful phone.... except for one thing. When I use it at home, a good 15-20% of the conversation is obscured by dropout. I don't lose the signal or drop the call, I just have a lot of missing words, in both directions of the call.

I live in semi-rural NH, but get a digital signal. I have always had a good enough signal with Nokia phones to use them at home with no problem (even in the basement!), and my wife is currently using a Kyocera KX2 that works fine.

Earlier this year, I returned a V710 because that phone also worked poorly at home.

I know everyone raves about the RF on the e815. What could be different about my situation that causes Motorola phones to have problems? I'd rather find a solution and keep ...

I purchased 2 E815 phones, one for me and one for my wife. So far, we really like the phones.

For some reason, my wife's phone does not display anything on the outer display. My phone works fine. It displays the time in dark grey at all times.

What could be wrong with my wife's phone or should we just change some settings?

Have had this phone for a few days and am satisfied overall. However, today I downloaded a couple of ring-tones from VZW tones. The quality is good, but the volume is significantly lower than the standard ring-tones. Not being a techie, am I missing something here? Even at full volume the ring-tones I downloaded are a bit soft for practical use. Ideas??? Thanks.

OK, so I get my new E815 a few days ago, and noticed that the clock is off by one hour (behind actual time)

It apparently is an EV-DO issue, because phone is fine an non EV-DO area. (spent weekend in non EV-DO area)

Called VZW tech support three times and got three different answers.

One told me I was the only one who has called and phone must be defective, replace it.

One told me that it was impossible to have the time wrong, since it gets the time from the network, I must be reading something else on the display (she suggested I was somehow looking at call timers)

Third told me to take my phone into the nearest VZW store with a tech so they could "adjust my phone"

These were all calls made in a row, one after the other....

I really love my phones, as mentioned earlier in other posts. However, I am very concerned about the earpiece/audio quality. I am finding myself turning the volume level past 5 to try to understand what some callers are trying to say. I feel like I am pushing the earpiece hard against my ear just to try and comprehend what is being said. Some callers come in pretty clear though. I am confused. Is this normal? I am on my 3rd e815 for the same problem with audio, but they all seem to perform the same. Other callers never say "what" to me, but I am finding myself saying "what" more than the last phone I owned, which happened to be the V265-if you can believe it! I just don't see another phone that I would like. I really don't want to be force...

I just got the e815, and changed the wallpaper to a personal photo. Now, when I get text messages, I can't read them since the wallpaper soaks up the text. How can I remedy this?? I'm using the "tech" skin. Does that have something to do with it?? Thanks!

How do I know if my Moto is one of the ones without the EV-DO link in it?

What could that signify, that Verizon is already out of this phone, or that there's a problem with them?

does anybody think the extended battery is worth it? I bought one with my phone when i got it but is 55 dollars worth it?
