Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I have had my V710 since last August and have been browsing the internet on my Dell Axim X30 PDA Pocket PC. I have been using the #777 in DUN over bluetooth. Never had a glitch.

Now I am having issues. I can connect to VZW's #777 fine (the connection icon on my PPC turns green and shows I am connected with Packet Data). But when I launch my PPC IE Browser, i keep getting an error "The page you are looking for cannot be found". So I connect to VZW but cant browse any webpages! Did Verizon disable browsing from DUN?

Have they disabled DNS? Is there a proxy to now browse through?

Is there a limit as to how many phones you can try for the 15 day trial period? I just picked up the 815 last Monday and would also like to try the 8100 and sch 890. Will they let me try all three? I'm coming from an old-school samsung sch-a530 that i've had for two years and love! Great reception and easy to use. If I'm going to have a phone for the next two years, I'd like to make sure I like it.

i'm thinking of switching over to the e815. i just bought the LG 8100 and there is no MP3 or PC syncing on it. does the e815 have the capability of syncing OUTLOOK contacts/calendar? this may have already come up, but i'm new on this forum. i've heard of the MPT. does this sync it with OUTLOOK or its own contact list? does it come with the phone package or as a third party software?

i'm hoping the recall has been resolved too.

Does the E815 not come with a holster/belt clip like every other Moto phone I've ever purchased????

There was none in the box, and I never saw the rep take one out while assembling the phone.

I have a question. I just upgraded my verizon cell phones to E815 for me and my wife. I was told that v710 is not available anymore.

I should be receiving the phones by mail today or tomorrow. I did a lot of research and read many reviews and so far it looks like I'm going to love the phones. One thing that is bothering me though... I heard that E815 is a digital only phone. I use my phone in NY/NJ/PA area 99.9% of the time. Will I have problems?

Well, moto's E815 already has 1 problem: half of the stock that went to stores are missing the EVDO software. Motorola apparently loaded the wrong software version in half of the 815's before they shipped them out to the VZW warehouses. Anyone interested in purchasing the E815, make sure you ask the sales rep to check the software before you leave the store to make sure it is loaded in. If it is not, the techs can load it in there in the store. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Sorry if this has been posted already!

This morning I learned that the E815 was taken off the website because MOTO shipped a batch of phones without the Vcast software. As soon as those phones are updated/replaced it will go right back up onto the website.

For those of you interested in the vx8100 note that he also stated that it has had a soft release and that it will be on the webiste on the 14th at $50 more than the E815 (with 2yr contract and 50 rebate).

I also mentioned to him that the 8100 user manual is not thorough. He is looking into it.

Thinking about getting this phone, but I'm curious about how many pictures the camera can take by default? I know that the memory can be expanded with a tf card, but I'd like to know how many can be stored on the internal memory...

That the LG VX8000 is also missing from the Verizon website. What's the story behind that is it becasue they are about to launch the 8100????????

I looked at the VZW site a few hours ago and the E815 was still there. However now it is gone here in the New York Metro area.

It seems that there must be a really big back order. Luckily mine had Vcast all along.

The Corporate store near me won't have them for a while, supposedly not until V-cast is rolled out here. The salesman I spoke with suggested I go to our "local" Circuit City (10 miles away), they should have the phone. They had 2 when I got there, none when I left, one had a DOA key on the keypad that I found before I left the parking lot.

So far, the interface is easy to work with, but this is my 3rd Motorola phone, so I'm probably just used to how they do things. I like the addition of the 'OK' key in the navigation circle. Makes some things A LOT easier, such as entering phone numbers as I was doing tonight. I've tried a couple calls to my work voicemail (no messages, lol) and the incoming sounds clear, so does the speaker. I act...

Is pixplace an online site where you can store pix you've taken with the e815?. When I had Sprint there was a site like that where I could upload pix from my phone to it. If pixplace is like that, how do I get to it? I've seen references to it in the forum (vznpix.com), but that address doesn't work. Can someone spell out the correct URL? Thanks.

I just saw the Verizon E815 commercial today. I was quite surprised to see it i heard people saying a month ago that there would be one but after people stopped talking about the commercial i didn't expect there to be one. The commercial really wasn't advertising the phone though. It was mainly advertising Verizons reliable network. Good commercial though.

i am using a sandisk flash card for my phone. i have put some songs on it and only a few of them actually show up. i have tons of memory left on the flash card so i dont know whats up. i also tried to put a music video on it and that wont show up either on the phone browser. is tehre something i am doing wrong

i just called verizon because i had placed an order for a e815 on saturday night to be shipped today morning and they said the order has been automatically cancelled because of the hold on the phone. i asked why there is a hold on the phone all the guy told me was that there was a problem with the vCast and it wasnt working for some reason and now i have to wait for the phone to be taken off of hold to get it ☹️ . any thoughts?

Is anyone having a problem with Verizon \ Motorola E815 phone. 99% of my calls come in as "Unknown"!! Friends are calling me & thier numbers are programed (even if they weren't, it should show a number!) & the caller ID says "Unknown caller"!! I just called my cell phone with the same message (over & over again)!! Must be a phone software issue. Anyone else having this proplem? I also read that some Verizon stores pulled this phone due to some issue. 😢 ☹️

Hey, does anyone know when Amazon.com will start selling the E815? Anyone remember how long it took them to start selling the v710 when that came out?
